Right on the heels of the MTV Video Music Awards were the 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, held at Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live. It seems most starlets clung to solid, bold colored, column like gowns–all the better to let their beauty shine. From Keke Palmer to Teyonah Parris to Angela Bassett, there were more than a handful of swoonworthy moments.
Let’s dive in, shall we?
Angela Bassett just gets better like fine wine, no? The 56-year-old actress was absolutely resplendent in a Grecian inspired Elisabetta Franchi gown. Yasssss!
Speaking of fine wine, I’m gagging over Halle Berry’s dusty pink silk chiffon Elie Saab dress with velvet straps. Get into that endlessly sexy high slit. Hot!
I was on board with Mindy Kaling’s red Kenzo dress.
Gabourey Sidibe opted for a flame hued gown for the night.
Kerry Washington was pretty in a orange Prada dress and Fred Leighton jewels. I could’ve done without the black detail underneath, but overall the dress was quite lovely.
I’m not mad at Julia Roberts’s Elie Saab embellished cocktail. Platform peep toes showed off her stems, while understated jewelry let the dress take centerstage.
Gwen Stefani is one of the few starlets who could’ve pulled off this futuristic silver Atelier Versace creation.
Camila Alves and Matthew Mcconaughy are a sickenly good looking couple! Camila was impeccable in Zuhair Murad; Matthew skewed sharp in a navy blue Dolce & Gabbana number.
Heidi Klum kept it cute in a Zac Posen Resort 2015 coral dress. A little underwhelming, but it’s hard for her not to look hot!
Keke Palmer had one of my favorite looks of the night in a royal blue Rubin Singer dress.
Laverne Cox showed off her decolletage in a white custom Marc Bouwer gown.
White was also on the sartorial menu for Sofia Vergara, who struck a pose in Roberto Cavalli and Brian Atwood.
Lucy Liu’s Zac Posen dress was simple, but sexy.
Octavia Spencer loves Tadashi Shoji, and tapped the designer once again for the night.
Viola Davis’s blue Escada dress was simply delightful.
Christian Siriano dressed many belles of the Emmy Ball, including Samira Wiley, who beamed in a yellow strapless frock.
Uzo Aduba also hopped on the Siriano train in a red strapless gown with a slight sweetheart detail. Stunning!
Lastly, Teyonah Parris killed the carpet in a multicolored Christian Siriano gown, equipped with a lime green skirt. Flawless!
At any rate, that does it! Who had your favorite look of the night?
