Red Carpet Trends: The Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon

Hey Guys!

So Essence’s Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon went down yesterday at the Beverly Hills Hotel in California. Oodles of Fashion Bomb celebrities came out, so much so, we decided to break down their looks by silhouette, style, and color. Take a look:
One Shoulder Styles:
Taraji P. Henson and Mary J. Blige showed off their buff gym bodies in alluring one shoulder close fit styles in turquoise and plum. The colors were vibrant and perfectly suited for the saucy stylistas.
Beiges, Creams, and Whites:

Jada Pinkett Smith, Serena Williams, Queen Latifah, and Zoe Saldana opted for lovely neutrals, some with metallic sheen to bring out bronzed cheekbones. I love how Serena’s cap sleeved shift highlighted her new bright haircut, but my favorite would have to be Zoe’s frilly, flirty thigh skimming cocktail with matching nude strappy platforms.
Sequins and Shimmer:

Bombshells Joy Bryant, Nia Long, and Vivica A. Fox sparkled for the celebration in sequined separates and dresses. Vivica and Nia are certified glam girls, so their choice of sequins came as no surprise, but Joy is more known for her casual sartorial penchants. It was refreshing to see the fresh faced actress in something bright and shiny to complement her singular beauty. When she’s on, she works it!

Greens:

Gabourey Sidibe, Tatyana Ali, and Paula Patton showed and proved in green dresses in varying shades. The deep rich color brought out Paula Patton’s baby glow, accented Tatyana’s jewel encrusted sandals, and struck a nice contrast to Sibide’s dark red lipstick.

Girly Glam:

Florals, frills, and pastels were also hot red carpet trends for the luncheon, with Tracee Ellis Ross, Anika Noni Rose, and the Mowry sisters in girly frocks . Tracee rarely disappoints, Anika looked regally elegant, and the Mowry sisters were positively lovely.

Which look was your favorite?
