So I spent a lot of time this weekend walking around Williamsburg, BK…

…a charming little neighborhood, full of artists, painters, and the like.
I looked around seemingly *forever* for fashionistas of color, and finally ran into this one young lady…

…I loved her romper and fly hair style. Her bag screams vintage, and her outfit is personal, laid back, and ultimately chic.
Smootches!
News, Sales, and What Nots:
* R.I.P Vibe V!!!

Read the story here. That really, really sucks! Why can’t young black women have a magazine just for us?!?
* Shoulda seen this coming! Not sure how I feel about this, but Rihanna…

…has her own umbrellas available through totes.com. Need an umburella-ella? Click here.
* Trend I love: bold accessories. Check out a few of the hottest top of the line break the bank accents, courtesy of elle.com:

Top Row: Open-toe sandal, Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière, $4,175, at Neiman Marcus; Chanel leather bag, $1,275, at Neiman Marcus.
Bottom Row: Jimmy Choo calf-and-suede bag, $1,895, at Jimmy Choo boutique; Tory Burch gold-and-bead necklace, $475, at Tory Burch, L.A.
They’ll help you stand out, even if you just throw em on with a white tee and jeans.
*If you love Pieces, you’ll love their sale even more!

  1. I am really feeling her style, she looks really good. I love how you can tell it’s her style, no trends or anything. Nice post!

  2. I agree with Pretty girl. I’m loving the loose casual fitting romper with the 80’s tapestry bag. Having gorgeous skin like hers doesnt hurt either. I wish I knew where to get that romper. I could play with that in so many ways. Great post Claire.

  3. Rihanna needs to step back a minute because she is about to reach the point of oversaturation. I love Williamsburg.

  4. As a sidenote, I visited addy & ferro this weekend…what a chic store! i loved the urban fashionista feel of it…thanks for putting it on my radar, Claire!

  6. Yes, sad news about Vibe V. And to think that I didn’t really see that coming…so soon anyway :(

  7. Wow, Vibe Vixen had some really great layouts as well as some amazing cover shoots. Shame it all went down hill.
