New York was popping this weekend, as the city welcomed the first signs of Spring with slightly warmer temps. Though it’s woefully cold again (blast!!), NYC’s finest came out to Chef Roble’s Everyday People Brunch to fete the forthcoming season.

Take a look:

Antoine looked fly in a cloud printed Calvin Klein sweatshirt that I must have.

These friends smiled for our cameras. I was feeling the young lady on the left’s embellished sandals.

A lot of dancing goes down at the brunch (it morphs into a day party), so comfort is key! Fashion blogger @StefaniMilano flexed in a Loyal Style silk tracksuit and sneaks.

A Zara ‘Essence Paris’ sweatshirt, matching pants, and bright Nikes were all this young man needed to stand out in the crowd.

How cool is this shredded sweater? It added an interesting focal point to this party goers athletic look.

And it’s always a pleasure to see the bespectacled beaut, who looked smart in readers, red lips, and silver flat boots.
Inside the venue…

A pair of Rick Owens x Adidas sneakers set off this all black and leather look.

All black was certainly a theme, witnessed by this bemused gentleman.

And this young lady rocked all black everything with flair, completing her Hood by Air and leggings look with a stern stare.

And of course I grabbed a pic with the day’s host! I kept it as comfortable and casual as I could in a Kenzo palm printed sweatshirt, Zara distressed jeans, a Topshop purse, Sisoo earrings, and my Proenza Schouler sandals.
It was a lot of fun!

  1. I definitely want to see more pics of this event…looks like a fun time! I hope to be able to attend one in the future. = )
    You looked cute, Claire!

  2. Now that’s the type of spring fun I’m talking about! I envisioned myself there the whole time lol

  3. lol @ Anon 12:02, I’m saying. Now all y’all didn’t have to pick from the same thrift store clearance basket. You too Claire, I don’t like the fit or the wash of those jeans. No diversity in fashion at all!

  4. @2 Cent’s i’m sure they’re not mad.. Now Jeff from Bravo looks like a clown

  5. Really, 2 Cents? That’s the best you could come up with? Anyhoo, most of them do look a hot mess. Claire is one of the handful of best dressed, but the fit of your jeans aren’t quite right. You do glam well, why stoop to trying to look grunge?

  6. This event is the battle of who can “look too school for school/ I’m a BK hipster/ vintage/ I look homeless but pay $3K in rent”

Plesae note that if you are hetero female looking for hetero men…this is not the event for that…..Just saying

  7. I do not like any of the looks except for the girl in the leather coat and nude pumps…everyone looks like a grungy trashy mess!!!! Claire you didn’t not do it this time at all…you need not do that BK hipster look ever again…it does not work for you at all!

Why do all these men look suspect brothas…. including the Chef. NEXT!!!!!!

  8. @ C, lol-Damn- you have a point about the fashions worn to this event. So THIS is how everyday people dress yes, I guess #shrug

  9. Agreed with C- this is NOT the spot for a hetero hook up (at least not a husband hunt lol). This an awesome event if you go to, eat, drink mimosas all damn day, and dance the ENTIRE day (b/c the music is dope). The majority of people there go to be seen and appear too cool for school, but regular 9-5ers like me still have a great time.

  10. So how does one go about finding out the location or getting an invite all I know it’s one Saturday a month in Brooklyn

  11. Claire I truly have the most love and respect for you, but pretty please burn those jeans and that shirt! I only see 2 fashionable people in this post. The rest of these people make the homeless guy I see every morning by Starbucks look clean.

  12. Um so because her jeans are not disgustingly tight there is an issue? Ooooo!!! Anyway some hits and misses! Iove your outfit Claire. Others not so much lol

  13. Claire liking this sweatshirt colour on you! btw can we start an anti-tattoo campaign asap before it’s too late? every youngin i meet now has at least a tattoo. and this ink everywhere anywhere look is not cute. AT ALL
    -S

  14. Ummm I get the grunge look trust me but I don’t know what to say about this street style post. I am all for being comfortable and showing diversity and range in your fashion choices. But really how diverse is it when everyone looks like they shopped at the same swap meat ??? I mean did everyone purposely not wash their clothes for this event? I mean did everyone find the dirtiest most ran down gym shoes they could find? I’m confused. Claire you didn’t look that bad sweetie, we are just used to you killing the fashion scene and in this instance it look like you tried to hard to fit in.

  15. fashion and art are about creativity. some of the women on this site sound like they have never left Sunday school. there is a world outside of the pews at your local Cornerstore Baptist. Sounds like some of y’all need to invest in an education and not be so concerned with a marriage. what exactly are these men suspicious of exactly? i sympathize with Claire having to read all of the comments from some of these sad ignoramus’. pretty is not only limited to 32 inches of some Malaysian woman’s hair on your head, a crop top, and a knock off pair of RiRi’s Manolo sandals. this is why its hard for me to even look at the Fashion Bombs sometimes.they all look like dime store versions of Beyonce/Rihanna/Kim K. visit a museum, take a walk in a park, read a book w/o a picture. watch a documentary to learn something. just stop spewing ignorance and hate. its so UNfashionable!!!!

  16. I would’ve followed Jeffrey around all day :lolz: Nothing wrong with the styles here: it’s a Saturday brunch hangout for goodness sake!

  17. Jeffrey LOOKS A HAWT ASS MESS! WTF IS WRONG WITH THIS MAN? He looks a fool! The guy looks like he’s wearing a bed sheet. And a purse?! SMH I CANNOT!

  18. FINALLY SOME NYC STREET STYLE!!!

Granted, there were a few hits and misses, but overall i’m here for it.

Rita is SHEXXSAYYY as all hell! I peeped artist Ron Bass (basquiat 2.0) in the cut.

Claire, you…..tried. I think your wardrobe needs more diversity. I’m not saying you have to be Grace Jones/Lady Gaga-avante garde-esque, but the one-dimensional “stilettos and a clutch” thing is BORING. You’re giving me the same silhouette from day to day, girl. You gotta swapped the heels for some kicks in Solange’s Puma collection, and I would’ve gave you a pass for trying. Switch it up a little. Think outside the box. Not so much “pretty pretty preppy”, more experimental edgy.

  19. @Lulu I dress how I want, just how you dress how you want.
I don’t really wear sneakers, I’m not that kind of gal and I probably never will be…and I’m ok with that. I like pretty, girly, fun, the fact that I’m wearing jeans is even a departure for me.
At the end of the day I’m a writer (ding!). I only pepper in these instances of my life occasionally as the cherry on top of this large cake called Fashion Bomb Daily. Like it or LEAVE.
    Tata,
    C

  20. Uuuuh wow Claire, your response to Lulu mmmh! Anyways I think she was trying to give you some ideas which isn’t bad and I remember some time ago you posted pictures I guess you were in Australia if I am not mistaken you said this year you want to try new things, you wore some boots and a skirt all together…and I think it was good to see you trying, I really gave you an A for that, its good once in a while to try this and that.

Well back to this event, when I was going through this post I was like if this if fashion they I probably don’t know what fashion is…lol, may be I don’t for sure. Everyone on this post looked so mess, whatever happened to looking clean and a bit fresh?!

  21. @Fifi Most times I sit back and let y’all read me for filth without responding, but something about that comment just irked me.
You’re right, in Australia I did say I wanted to try an edgy look. But I personally didn’t like it, and y’all read me for filth there, so there’s really no ‘winning’ with some of you.
I’ve decided that I’m not going to dress for anyone but me.
I also felt like you might need a reminder of who I am. I’m not a pop star or recording artist trying to titillate you with my style choices (a la Lady Gaga or Grace Jones). I’m not a stylist. I’m barely a ‘personal style’ blogger. I am 100% a writer/editor. Not that I’m on a level with Anna Wintour or Andre Leon Talley, but just imagine asking Anna to ditch her bob and floral dresses or Talley to ditch his cape…because you’re ‘bored.’ It’s just like. FOH. I’m gonna do ME. You do you.
    Bye!

  22. @CLAIRE I LOVE VISITING THIS SIGHT AND GET ALOT OF INSPIRATION DAILY! I UNDERSTAND HOW PEOPLE CAN PUSH THAT BUTTON THAT MAKES YOU WANT TO GO OFF. BUT EVEN STILL I DONT THINK ITS “PROFESSIONAL” IN A SENSE TO RESPOND. I WAS BITING MY LIP READING YOUR POST LIKE, “CLAIRE DONT DO IT” :) I KNOW, I KNOW WHAT YOU’RE THINKING BUT REMIND YOURSELF THAT THESE ARE PEOPLE AT HOME BEHIND A COMPUTER SCREEN THAT PROBABLY WOULDNT KNOW REAL STYLE IF IT HIT THEM IN THE FACE. TRUE ENOUGH EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO THEIR OWN OPINION. AND PEOPLE CAN GET DIRTY WITH IT. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL AND SUCCESSFUL AND I FEEL YOU SHOULD NEVER COME OFF YOUR THRONE TO ADDRESS THESE PEOPLE. THEY ARE TUNING IN TO “YOUR” FASHION BLOG EVERYDAY. TAKING THEIR TIME TO COMENT ON “YOUR” PICTURES AND POST SO “YOU” MUST BE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT!! :) MANY BLESSINGS AND CONTINUED SUCCESS…
“HATE ME OR LOVE LOVE,YOU STILL WATCHING”
    XOXOXOXOXO

  23. Claire do you boo.

As for everyone else. I can see some people feel the need to be different and experiment. Variety is the spice of life. I’ve gone through several phases myself. But what I notice more than anything else is that we’re in a generation we’re everyone is eager to assert their differences in a vague superficial way. Their supposed uniqueness without much more than their aesthetic to back it up. Being an outsider is trendy. People desperate to buck what’s popular just for the sake of it. And I guess that provides some sort of thrill. But what exactly about you, your thoughts are different. Is your philosophy on the world really all that contrarian? Probably not. So let’s stop the pretentiousness around clothes and fashion please. As if it’s even a true symbol of what or who a person is.

  24. Maybe its me, but i LIVE for moments like this. What i wouldnt do to be back in BK for this event! I love seeing different interpretations of style… Some inspire and some intrigue but its all fashion. Now Jeff’s look had me DEAD to the BED but hey, its interesting so i aint mad at him lol.

Btw @Claire, i felt you on your response to Lulu. Her ‘advice’ wouldve irked me too lol

  25. U go Miss Claire. My point is that fashion is very individual..even if we have the same pieces, I don’t want to see you looking like me. Brooklyn is where that starts for me and people need to see everyday people and come down off the pie in the sky Kim k model as a fashion biblical template. Woo! If you can tell a person likes what they are wearing..I love it! #gladUdoU

  26. tough crowd! Lol I’m a firm believer in live and let live so these hipsters can go ‘head and enjoy their lives letting their freak flags fly!

  27. Don’t see understand all the hate O_o

Claire looked cute! The sweatshirt, boyfriend jeans and heels were just right. Chill yet chic.
