Where does the time go?
I’m off in two shakes to shoot a Style Diary in the Tuileries, but am cranking out a few Mail Bombs beforehand.
Stay tuned for my pix on Monday–in the meantime, let’s solve a bit of reader mail!
Several of you had questions about the outfit Rihanna had on to board a flight at Heathrow Airport:
In this Week in Chic, ChoklitFactory wrote, “Rihanna’s sunglasses. Anyone??” and Jade wrote, “Can we get a correct ID [on Rihanna’s pants]?”
Rihanna paired a Trapstar Varsity Jacket and Manolo Blahnik Chaos Sandals with $189 Men’s Isaora Track Pants in Gray and House of Holland Spring 2013 Sunglasses:
Her glasses aren’t yet available, but you can get her pants at Revolve Clothing.
Next up, Ladonna writes, “Where can I find this sweater?”
Meek Mill posed on the carpet for the NBA 2k13 event at 40/40 in a $167 Pierre Balmain two tone sweater:
The white cotton sweater features a crew neck, long sleeves, and a contrasting black bottom half. Get it from FarFetch.com.
Lovelle types, “Please could you help me find out. Where can I get the beanie Teyana is wearing?!”
Though the hat boasts two interlocking C’s (a la Chanel), I’m pretty sure Chanel doesn’t make logo’d beanies. A quick search found that Teyana is a fan of Dead Couture, yet another label that turns historic fashion brand names on their heads.
I wasn’t able to find her beanie on the site, so I can only assume it was a custom creation (or that they’re just not available for purchase yet). Keep an eye on DeadCouture.BigCartel.com for when they stock up.
Akilah from Toronto says, “I’d like to know what blouse Savannah Guthrie from the Today Show (photo’d with Ashanti) is wearing, and if you can also supply some less pricey options.”
Not sure, but I’m hoping a similar look will do the trick? Try these on for size:
Tiffany writes, “My name is Tiffany and I really love this colorful look Arianne from LAHHATL is wearing.”
“ Can you give the deets on what exact brands she is wearing or offer lower price point options for the shoes and shorts that won’t break a college grad’s budget?”
Arianne paired a tie neck blouse and mint short shorts with $350 B by Brian Atwood colorblock Fontanne pumps.
Splurge on her shoes, and save on the rest of her look with these pieces:
I have time for one little Wardrobe Query…!
Kai writes, “I have the leather jacket picture below, and I have absolutely no idea how to wear it.”
“… I bought it on sale for $9 at Nordstrom, COULDN’T PASS IT UP, but I find that it really doesn’t go with anything. I thought it would be easy to style (like a black leather jacket)….but no. Any ideas? Is beige only for summer? How can I style it for the fall? Btw, I’m a college student, so I was hoping to wear this around campus, and maybe for nights out on the town. Thanks!!!”
Ah, the super sale item that you can’t seem to style…! Every time I have a question about how to wear an item, I hop on Google to see how some of my favorite fashionable peeps have worn something similar. For fall, I’d say you can throw the jacket over a black sweater dress and black boots if you’re going to class, or a black slinky dress and animal print pumps for a night on the town. Other ideas include wearing it over, say, a cream wool sweater and dark wash jeans with brown boots. Keep it neutral and don’t make anything too complicated! Look to these celebs for further fall inspiration:
Now for some Unsolved Mail Bombs!
Sam says, “ Can you please help me find where I can get the denim shirt Nas is wearing?”
Jessica types, “I saw this picture of Lala on her Instagram page and I instantly wanted to know where I can find her sunglasses!!!”
Gutana says, “Can you tell me who designs Swizz’s glasses, and if a female could wear them lol”
Elle C types, “ I love Tasha’s jumper! Who is it by?”
And lastly, Sue says, “I not only want, but I need the info on the shoes that the Dream’s chick is wearing desperately. Your help would be greatly appreciated.”
They look *so* familiar, but I can’t find ’em or place them.
Help us out!
I’m headed to the Tuileries in two shakes to shoot it up with Guillaume Landry.
There are many more posts coming down the pike, just stay tuned:)
