So the 2011 Billboard Music Awards just went down at the MCM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kelly Rowland, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, and more took to the bright white carpet to flex their most fashionable outfits.
Let’s see who worked it, shall we?
Female artist of the Year Rihanna glowed in a white Max Azria pantsuit with her favorite nude Christian Louboutin Pigalle pumps. Though some still hmm at her bright red hair color, it pops here! The contrast of her bouncy lava colored curls, orange lip, and optic white outfit are delightful. A sizzling hot!
Former Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams came to support third bandmate Beyonce’s performance. Kelly looked gorgeous in a strawberry jam toned mini Max Azria dress and gold strappy sandals. I’m on the fence with Michelle’s outfit, though I do love her frock’s sequins and textured skirt. Overall hot for both ladies.
And speaking of Beyonce…
Billboard’s Millennium Girl rocked a black form-fitting Lanvin brooch dress from their Fall 2011 Ready to Wear Collection, paired with Christian Louboutin Jenny Knotted Platform Pumps in Glitter. And as per usual, Beyonce looks hot! Though the dress isn’t absolutely jaw-dropping, it fits her personality and her newly svelte frame. And I was ecstatic to see she left the nylons at home.
Nas came out of hiding looking a little shell shocked in bright white pants, a gray top, and rugged gray leather motorcycle jacket. Love this look, especially his Tom Ford Cyrille aviators and the Jesus piece. Call it a comeback! Hot!
Big winner Justin Bieber worked a gilded jacket and black pants by bomb brand DSquared2 for the event. I like the haircut (is that new? I can’t keep up with these kids) and the pop with gold offers. Thumbs up!
Ne-Yo also represented for the fellas in a cornflower blue suit and sunglasses, anchored by a baseball hat and two-toned shoes that made me do a serious double take. At first glance, did anyone else think he was wearing white socks with black house slippers? Shoes aside, the suit is nice. The hat is a little casual for the carpet, but I get it, he’s trying to diverge from his typical ‘fedora’ steeze. Great effort, Ne-Yo, but this look gets a lukewarm hot, and a bit of a hmm…..
Trey Songz made an appearance in a crocodile skin printed black blazer, white tee, black jeans and white high top sneakers. I like the look here, but hmm… I expected just a little bit more from Trey Songz. I wasn’t wowed like I usually am when he wears a suit.
Keri Hilson looked radiant in a golden poppy sheer sleeved mini Rachel Roy dress, accented by a turquoise belt and strappy gold sandals. Keri’s style choices have been getting blasted as of late, but she worked it in this instance. Love the color, the contrast, the overall shine. Hot!
Nicki Minaj stuck to her signature style in a powder blue crystal encrusted Mark Fast Spring 2011 jumpsuit and white Versace sandals. Well, Nicki, you know what you like and that’s all that matters. Work those pastels, girl…
Mary J Blige looked ravishing in a leopard and black Marc Bouwer gown, brought to life by a high platinum ponytail. The dress is definitely out of the box, but it works for her. And lord knows I love me some leopard. Hot!
Reality star Sinbad showed up with daughter and aspiring singer Paige Fuller, looking in his element in a black outfit. Definitely not a fan of Sinbad’s show (anyone else?) but the two looked super cute here! I love Meredith’s shimmery silver mini and tie up sandals; Sinbad stuck to the axiom, black on black is always chic.
Also in all black was Taio Cruz, who wore a black suit with a black top and dark black sunglasses. It’s a fine look, but for a young man at such a high wattage event, I would have liked to see something more adventurous. Perhaps a colorful jacket or funky spiked sneaks.
Selena Gomez opted for a black Dolce & Gabbana gown with cut out details for the festivities, and kept the party going with red bow front Giuseppe Zanotti strappy sandals. Love the dress (though it’s a little racy), and might have preferred a simpler shoe as to not take away from the dress. Still, an overall hot look; bonus points for the simple Neil Lane jewels and Judith Leiber clutch.
Fergie looked bomb in a S&M inspired black Herve Leger by Max Azria Atelier dress with clasps, cut outs, and buckles, played up by platform Christian Louboutin Daffodil pumps. The look is alluring, but doesn’t beat you over the head with sultriness. Smoking hot!
Lastly, friends 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather grinned on the carpet in jeans and casual tops. Don’t they just look like they bring the party? Floyd looked smart in his cardigan, and 50 simply looked ripped in his orange shirt and cap. Not groundbreaking, but their spirits make them look hot.
Who was best dressed for you?
