To announce her upcoming tour with Enrique Iglesias, Jennifer Lopez held a press conference, and chose quite a frock for the occasion. The American Idol judge slipped on a $7,835 snake embellished dress from Lanvin and $695 Giuseppe Zanotti ankle strap double platform pumps to break the big news.

This silk on lycra dress is bedazzled with Swarovski crystals that creep from the left panel all the way around to the neckline, where the sparkly snake menacingly rests its head.

Her double platform pumps have a 5.75″ heel.

At first, I gave this frock a Scooby Doo “rrow?” because I wasn’t sure what was going on, but after taking a closer look, I realized that I’m just in love with this dress. Lanvin rarely ever makes something that I don’t like, and this time is no exception. Her look is a Hot! for me.

… But what do you think?

  1. i have a fear of snakes (or anything reptile for that matter) so this dress is seriously creeping me out:((

  2. I’m not a fashion analyst or anything, so I can’t tell you why I love it…but I love it. LOL

As usual, the body is bananas

  3. Looking at the dress only (sans serpent) it’s not all that great. I think the gimmick makes the dress…so whatevs O_o

  4. @Jihan,
I LMFAO at the Scooby-Doo reference. So True. I had to squint my eyes to get the concept of what is that around her neck. Only J-lo or Rihanna could pull this dress off. I wonder what does an $8,000 dress feels like against my skin…….

  5. I like the dress, on it’s own… I saw it this morning on the news and thought perhaps I was still dreaming. But it’s a cool idea, not sure if I would wear it, more because it’s almost freaking $8,000!!

  6. Like the dress.. hate the snake and the hair. I think it would have been better with sleek pulled by hair. It’s looks like her hair got freezy when she was running for the snake

  7. @Moi As do I and that is why this dress is absolutely hideous to me. Without that the dress would have been cute.

  8. A flower, a jewel, anything, would have been better than having a snake(?!) creeping up your neck. Alber needs to quit being messy, just to see how stupid these celebs are and will wear anything pricy and brand’y to show their status. lookin like a damn fool.

  9. rrow? thanks Jihan, I will be hearing that every time I or someone else looks a mess!

Much better than ‘ugh’ thanks! :D

  10. I have a “love/hate” thing going on with JLo. I’ve always loved her swag but can’t let go of the controversy re her use of the ‘n’-word in one of her songs & her lack of apology – as a woman of color whose ethnicity also has a very negative slur, I just can’t let it go. Re that dress – it would be hot without the snake – the colors are gorgeous together.

  11. I saw this dress in Vogue almost 2 months ago-It really is a FIERCE dress that is just super unique. Maybe her being in this regular setting is throwing people off- but for a performance or video I promise it would not dissapoint!

  12. That price tag tho?!!!! Good Lawd!!! I would never even if I had the money!!

  13. Thats my girl…I die for her..but this look is not happening.

    At all.

I’m sure she didn’t mean anything negative by it. Sadly, many Latinos use that word like African-American’s use it…as a term of endearment. And I’m sure a lot of people didn’t think twice about it because of that, and because Ja Rule was on the song (I bet he ok’d it, smh).

But the dress would have been lovely if the embellishment was not a snake. That is just TOO over the top, for something that is not Halloween related. And how ironic, she played in the movie ‘Anaconda’, lol.

  15. i hate snakes so much. like phobia type fear of them. so i have to hmmm this dress. the shoes are smoking however.

  16. Negative I loved the dress before I saw the snake :( it ruined the feel of the dress

  17. Its after looking twice i realized that the snake is actually attached to the dress….i love d dress….but somehow i feel that the snake n d dress aren’t mixing well together..
