Tamar Braxton came to slay at the 2014 Soul Train Awards, and did just that in a $5,810 sheer embellished blue dress by Roberto Cavalli:
Her long-sleeved knitted gown is elaborately detailed with an intricate graphic motif and semi-sheer accents.
Tamar looks great! Hats off to her stylist Law Roach.

Her hair is horrible. I can not say she slayed until she does something with her. You know how you try on a real cute outfit, but you don’t like the way you look becaise your hair is not done? But when you get your hair done you feel like a million dollars. She needs to do better, dresses slay tho.

@Anonymous LOL YES!!! That sounds exactly like me! I rarely try on clothes in the store for that reason..But yea, it’s def her hair that’s throwing me off..it’s awful. Like the dress, but her in it just doesn’t do it for me.
No shade and I do mean no shade, but I looked too quickly at the first photo of Tamar in the blue Roberto Cavalli number (which I am here for!) and I thought she was Laverne Cox. It’s way too early.

She appears to be having major fit issues with all three looks. The blue dress clearly does not have the right foundation/underlining, or are we just doing drawls and pasties showing in public now? The second one looks hideously cheap and tacky and the fit of the top half of the dress reminds me of that fake “Gordon Gartrelle” shirt Denise Huxtable made. I mean why is it penned and tacked up like cheap curtains? Why is one breast out and the other covered? Why is one sleeve 2 inches longer than the other? The third outfit makes her look like she has a paunch, but I guess when taking all of the missteps that happened into account, that was only the smallest transgression.
she will no get far if she doesn’t tame that mane…her hair is always tragic…early on in beyonce’s career her hair was tragic as well until someone finally said look if you want to be taken serious as a major brand you need to get it together..someone really needs to tell tamar ‘the real’ about those horrid wigs..
not feeling this look at all. i wished she had lined the dress because seeing her black underwear is tacky. also i am getting a mystique (the chick from x-men) vibe. I also do not like the choker. she is trying to hard to be Beyonce and it just doesnt work. i want to lose the wig, go natural, and also put her in some real, fashion forward, tailored pieces. to me she rarely ever gets it right, and its sad because she has the potential to do so.

I was there at the Soul Train Awards and most of her clothing doesn’t fit because I’m sure they were loaners and you can’t tailor them to your body if they have to be returned, in most cases that’s the issue. I wish she would find a new hairstylists too because her hairstyles never flatter her outfits.

I love the blue dress, choker and pulled back hair. I agree the undergarments could be better. I really like the second dress but am not feeling the curls. The last look is different for Tamar and very flattering IMO. Sidenote: Rihanna wears bad wigs, and shows her draws and pasties all the time but to y’all that’s “slayage.” Hmmm…
Okay @Keeks just to addess the Rhi comment, the girl outshines most, if not all of her peers when it comes to award shows. So there’s that, as far as Tamar, as much shit as she talks, she looks like a clown most of the time. She dresses cute on her talk show but those wigs are out of order, consistently. Her hair continues to fail her. She needs to go ahead and break ties with her hair stylist because this is embarrassing.

What is Tamar paying her stylist for?? I don’t think I’ve seen her in anything that has been flattering to date-hair included. It amazes me how these artists/celebrities have all this money and still walk around looking less than desirable. Her hair and make-up should always be flawless, and that just hasn’t been the case.
Not only was her voice irritating and annoying .. And acting like she was drunk, but the clothes were hideous on her.. And with all that money can’t she get a better wig.. She could at least ask Wendy .. Smh
