Proving yet again that no one is exempt from the law, a Milan court found Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana guilty of tax evasion. The verdict came today; a result of of an extensive trial dating back to 2011.

InterviewWhile the initial case was thrown out, an appeal made by the prosecution to Italy’s Supreme Court found the designing duo in hot water yet again.

However, the odds were not in their favor this time around. Judge Antonella Brambilla sided with the prosecution, finding the pair guilty of failing to “declare euros 1 billion ($1.3 billion) in income to authorities.” They, along with a handful employees, have been sentenced to one year and eight months in prison.

  1. DAS DEY GIT ! long gone are the days rich folk are above the law…. long time coming !

  2. They trying to get them on the sale of their company. I think this more about the government losing money rather than justice.

  3. I am glad they have to “serve jail” time but unless they in their for the full 20 months does it really matter. If they let them off after a day or week what lesson is really learned. Go to Jail like Martha

  4. Yikes! … is it bad that im swooning over these Italian names….even the Judge’s name Antonella Brambilla…just rolls off the tongue…but thats not why we’re here,

I really can’t imagine them being in jail, but if you do the crime, you have to pay the time…

    Blessings

  5. Wow, I’ve never heard of designers running from Uncle Sam. Sheezus……but I wonder if this now means that they plan to have a few big sales in the future lol. (fingers crossed)

  6. This sucks but they can’t expect to hide 1.3 billion. Italy isn’t trying to have a repeat of Greece…lol…too soon? But the fact that they have to go jail is a shocker.
