California represented so well yesterday, I decided to keep the party going with Bombshell Vee from the Bay Area:

She says, “I’m the owner of the blog Dimeonadime.com.”

” I don’t really follow fashion trends, I dress according to how I feel for the day.”

” I shop the thrift scene exclusively! I’ve gotten pretty good at it and can find some really great pieces!”

In fact, every outfit shown here is thrifted from head to toe.”

” I would describe my style as sensible fun; not too much and not too little. It’s just right for me!”

Fashion Bombshell of the Day is a feature showcasing the singular style of Fashion Bomb Readers. Send your name, location, a description of your style, and 2-6 picture(s) to th************@gm***.com. 1. Everything is dull and ma i say very outdated and looks outdated. You have to take vintage and give it a twist. There is just nothing amazing or diferent. Everything looks cheap and even the shoes look oudated. your hair and body are your best assets. I feel like you’re stuck in the past or something. You have to learn how to give vintage a modern twist. Thank you for submiting, pretty lady, no so pretty style.

  2. Leggings under a pencil skirt? No maam. Very pretty girl it just looks outdated. The pieces you are thrifting have no element of style, it doesnt come off vintage it just comes off as cheap.

  3. I concur, BLKROSE. I used to follow her blog but stopped because I didn’t feel fulfilled. Meaning, I didn’t like many of her outfits or make-up choices. All in all, I think she needs to thrift with goals in mind, looks like she just buys clothes from thrift stores without considering the style, durability and quality of each piece. I’m no expert, just my 2cents…..stay beautiful

  4. I think we are taking this vintage thing a little to far. I too love the concept of scoring items for just a few dollars, but at what sacrifice? I have to agree with Tanae, there is a huge difference between vintage thrifting and just cheap thrifting.

  5. am i the only person who noticed that in the picture with the pencil skirt and leggings …this woman has on one shoe tryna play it off ?? lmaoooo i cant believe she said THIS was vintage . no hate , just truth

-find your other shoe & the purple lace shirt is just tacky

  6. @bnasty19
I was headed down to the comments to ask WTH, but you beat me to it. LOL! Not feeling this at all.

  7. Except your gorgeous face and beautiful hair, everything is bad. You have no style at all. Time to browse some blogs and fashion magazines to get some inspiration and learn how to dress.

  8. The best feature in every single pic….is her lip color! Just FAB! When you thrift clothes, it should not look like you threw it on, while still in the store, and walked out. The look is just dull/dry. But I def give her props for sharing her sense of style! Thats clearly what she likes, so Rock On Missy!

  9. Wow, I have to give her props. I don’t shop at thrift stores, but she has found some cute stuff. What we all need to remember that fashion is individualized. What one person may like another may not. Rather it’s punk, urban, couture, vintage or whatever. I give her props for doing her thang, not what someone else is telling her what should be her thang. Being your own individual always draws criticism, and at least you know people are paying attention to what you’re doing. I say you go gurl, keep doing what and how you do. >>Be you.

  10. Her style is exactly that Her style:) It takes guts and love of life to express yourself freely! Go Vee!

  11. Nothing wrong with hitting Sally’s (Salvation Army) but if that’s the plave u choose to do majority of your shopping think quality. Many of these pieces look pretty bargain basement. (except the black and white blouse, love it) Most of the time its usually better to pair a thrift item w a more expensive item for it to look more polished. And its dope that u don’t follow trends, but u should pickup a few magazines for some inspiration, or better direction.

  12. I think we often times equate fashion and style to something that we can see our selves wearing. She DID say the following trends wasn’t necessarily her thing, but she definitely has style.

  13. @YoYo, good point, u have to respect someone who is indeed doing them, not just a carbon copy of what they see…but still…….taste should be a factor..

  14. Not feeling any of this. The buckle boots? The pencil skirt with footless leggings? And did she really submit a picture wearing one shoe? Come on!

  15. I get so excited when I see a Bay Area submission! I get it. Its not any style I would rock, but it seems to fit her.

  16. Everyone has style, but not everyone’s style is “the bomb.” This young lady’s style is just so random. I don’t get it. There are so many awesome vintage, on trend and unique pieces to be found by thrifting, but this is not it.

  17. She doesn’t look bad per say. I think everyone is just kind’ve underwhelmed. There doesn’t seem to be any clear direction or look going on here. Great hair and lip color.

  18. Claire you are so wrong for this one!! You know her looks are super outdated and just all wrong. Leggings and skirt, my mom would never wear that so I don’t expect a young, beautiful women to either. Its cool that you thrift but you must find great pieces that you’re able to update. Something old with something new…….carry on.

  19. Pretty average style, but she def has the potential to be a certified, just need to do a style upgrade and she’ll be fine, love those pink lips though

  20. Do U Vee, I like the way U mix it up! Some times I find things on the clearance rack at thrift prices. Like my Levi skinny jeans (black) $5! Perfect for knee high boots this winter, it pays of to shop in many places. Just something to think about.

  21. All i can say is that she is too pretty to be dressing like that. A nice body should be draped in some hot stuff. Please subscribe to some fashion mags and online fashion blogs. They will show you how to thrift and stay modern.

  22. y’all are so harsh!!! lol
oh well, I like her style (for her), outdated or not, and she rocks it with confidence.

  23. BEAUTIFUL girl style is blah. with better clothes she’d be a certified BANGER…………I like vintage…this is just tacky.

  24. Thanks again Fashion Bomb for the feature! I didn’t come here to be given critiques or pointers of how to adapt my own personal style to the style of someone else, nor did I come to profess myself as “best dressed”. This was just a lot of fun for me. I love how I dress and I embrace it, as I embrace myself. I may not provide the greatest impression of who you think I should look like, but I do me like nobody else can! ;) Wishing you all (even the mean commenters) a wonderful week! Love & Blessings! ~ Vee; dimeonadime.com

  25. I like the tiny brown bag, the leaf necklace, and that hooded sherpa-style coat.
Overall, it’s not my personal taste. Her skin and hair are right on point, though!

  26. Why do people send their pics on here if they don’t want the truth? I will never get it. Don’t get mad, get even and become the FASHION BOMB. Goodnight!

  27. Claire…Claire. Hon I love you but you get the serious side eye from me with this submission, lol. ONE SHOE!?! On a pic you’re sending to a popular blog for all the world to see!?! Where they do that at? Pretty girl with a bomb shape, but I concur with a previous poster I am left unfulfilled by these pics.

  28. The pencil skirt outfit [minus the tights] is a really nice look for her! I don’t really like the other outfits, but I applaud her for being bold and not conforming to trends. I think that takes confidence and she should be praised for that – not torn down.

  29. It’s quite laughable how everyone has negative things to say about such a beautiful woman. From “Her body and face is the only thing she has going.” to “This woman tried to play off that she had another shoe on.” You guys are quite the comedians. Lol, not. Vee, you are doing such a great job with your blog and I love your fashion sense! And for those who don’t like this comment I will leave you with some words of wisdom, “If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.” -Maya Angelou
Keep being yourself Miss Vee! xoxo :)

  30. Thrifted DOES NOT equal vintage. Just because you bought a shirt at the salvation army or the goodwill DOES NOT I repeat DOES NOT make it vintage.

  31. I’m from the Bay Area and this one doesn’t seem too representative of our style. The last bombshell who was located in L.A. but from the Bay was more true to what we have to offer as a location. I also wish sistagirl would smile. love her hair though :)
