Today we’re taking it to Decatur, Illinois with blogger Taneica:

She writes, “*Knocks back a shot* Here goes nothing…lol!”

My name is Taneica and I currently reside in Decatur, Illinois, where I work as an editor for the local news station.”

” I also run an online publication with my sister called ShatterproofGlassDolls.com. [It] is a fashion, beauty, and lifestyle website that was created to empower, enlighten, and entertain women.”

” I’m not sure what my style is, but I know that I am drawn to feminine, fun pieces.”

” I love rainbows, sparkles, ruffles, high heels, and big hair. Honestly, in my past life, I must’ve been a fabulous gay man who moonlit as a drag queen on the weekends. lol.”

” In an effort to not overwhelm folks with my wardrobe AND big personality, I sneak sparkles and rainbows in to my outfits in subtle ways.”

” Even when I dress down, I allow my self esteem to be my key accessory. I hope you choose me and thanks for the opportunity.”

Thanks for submitting! I loved your style description, and your rainbow dress and bow heels are so cute!

  1. Some hits some misses. I like the curly hair on her, and I like her last look. That’s it for me though I’m afriad….

  2. I get where she is going and love her confidence but…I have a similar shape and feel she picked clothes that highlighted the squareness of her shape versus items that woukd give the illusion of a softer curvier figure. Monica makes the same mistake sometimes.

  3. Her shoe game is nice. If those shoes with the blue dress are BCBG I have the same pair from like 2007 and im still wearing them.

  4. Dead at “knocks back a shot” lmao!! I like it, I am similar in shape which makes it super hard to pull off anything but I think she has in a few of her outfits. But I believe so much in peplum for our shape and also bloom skirts it balances us out. But I think she looks great! Congrats!

  5. Beyond fab! I love the one shouldered dresses, especially the first one. And the bow heels. I love a bow on the toe!

    Work it!

  6. Taneica, I thought you were the bomb from the moment I read “Knocks back a shot” LOL!! You go girl!

  7. Not a shot! LOL, that was funny. I think you are working with what you have and your doing a pretty good job at it. Kudos to you. I really like that blue dress on you and gimmie that peplum.

  8. I like her last outfit minus the nude pumps. I think she just needs to develop her style a little more. It seems like she’s still learning what works for her and what doesn’t.

  9. Not bad at all…all very complimentary to her figure, so she knows what works for her. I adore those blue wedges.

  10. She has lovely hair! She looks BEST in the dresses that flare out. Nice toned legs as well. The black and beige look is super cute! Try going for more necklaces to help soften the neckline. Your style is really inspiring.

  11. I loved her description. She is somebody that I wish I knew. Her personality shines though. I’m not sure all of her clothing complimented her wonderful figure though but I loooved that peplum.

    Btw, amazing calves!

  12. Does anyone think that less chunk heels would work better for her? I’m not style expert but I wondering about that…

Nevertheless, I like her a lot and I’m off to check out her site.

  13. Love the brown dress with black belt, rainbow dress and blue dress…. the shoes are fab also!!!

  14. The last 3 pics were super. The nude shoe with the black-strip dress made me clap for that outfit alone: finally, a brown girl who took the time to find a shoe to match her skin tone (and an embellishment on the toe, nonetheless). She may have a challenging “frame” to work with but she pays attention to the details. Kudos, she’s super cute.

  15. @Destination Everywhere

I agree. She has great legs, but she doesn’t appear that tall. A less chunky shoe would give her legs even more length.

  16. Looks are not bad, I would have liked to see a little more diversity or attention to detail in the accessories department (besides shoes).

  17. @thefashionistachic you’re such an idiot…I would love to get a glimpse of this “fashion expert” and if that’s you on those videos you shouldn’t dish out not one more insult…ole’ Sylvester the cat sounding…..anywho I voted FB going to check out her blog now…

  18. Why do the people on this site have to be so brutal? I’m not shouting any side eye worthy comments out there, but some of ya’ll need to realize that there are different styles of fashion. These are every working people who love to dress up and play around with their style I would think that people who visit this site could respect that at least. But anyway I like her style, she looks confident, and I love her shoe choices.

  19. I’m confused by the comments. She looks great. And I didn’t see anything wrong with how she dressed her figure. My only suggestion would be more color on her face.
