Ready for a Bombshell? Check out Talysha from Topeka, Kansas:

She writes, ” I am a first-time mommy and an aspiring wardrobe stylist. Aside from working full time, trying to build my styling business and chasing my 15-month-old around, my life can get pretty hectic at times!!! “

“I work at a law firm during the day and my love of bold colors and prints doesn’t always get to shine through, so I created a blog about six months ago that basically serves as my creative outlet.”

It’s called “Pretty Little Layers” (http://layeredpretty.blogspot.com), and it showcases my personal style and serves as a guide for young mothers like myself struggling to balance career and family and do it all fashionably.”

“My personal style is undefined because what I wear depends on what mood I’m in. One day it could be girly and romantic and the next it could be edgy or androgynous.”

” I like to experiment with different silhouettes and right now I’m into wearing men’s clothing.”

” I also love playing with looks from different eras as well.. for instance, right now I’m really into the 90s.”

“The majority of my closet is high street wear mixed with thrift store finds. I don’t believe that you have to spend a lot to look good but if you can splurge on anything, it should be shoes and handbags. Everything else is negotiable. :)”

” Remember style IS subjective because if it weren’t, we’d all be wearing the same uniform. Everyone has style, but it’s in how you style the look that makes all the difference. In theory, don’t be a drag, just be a QUEEN!”

Alrighty! Love your hair and your 90’s throwback moments. See more of Talysha’s style at www.layeredpretty.blogspot.com.

  1. hmmm…i dont hate it but i would never aspire to it.
it also would never catch my eye.
having said that, kudos to her for her confidence.

  2. only the all white/cream look is the beez-neez! looks very elegant! everything else
    ….naaaahhh!!!!

  3. if you can splurge on anything, it should be shoes and handbags. ”

I like her style philosophy and she dresses well. The all white is my fav

  4. I think she is a bombshell and I actually like the way a lot of her pieces are oversized. The only constructive criticism I would offer is more diversity in her shoe choice. I see a lot of suede, colored, platforms. Throw a cute ankle strap sandal or wedge into the mix.

  5. Every since you showcased that bombshell from Miami who is originally from South Africa all others pale in comparison; she just has wicked style. This young lady is cute and all, but I’m way over colour blocking and there is nothing here I would aspire to.

  6. The whole white outfit is really nice but would have been better with different shoes (silver sandals for instance, not bulky shoes). She obviously loves fashion but needs to starts investing in better quality shoes (no need to go Louboutin, Zanotti, etc. Vince Camuto, Boutique 9, Zara, etc have some nice affordable alternatives).

  7. Why can’t we see her eyes?
Anywho…she’s not my cup of tee because her clothing LOOKS thrifted and cheap…I am not saying you have to spend a heap of money to look good, but putting things together and looking cheap is the not the same as putting things together and looking good. The last pic is the only one that does some justice.

  8. I love how she experiments with color. Great individual pieces, just a tad too big and in need of professional tailoring.

  9. I really like her style. As @twitter-97482386:disqus stated, I think she needs to get some of her piece tailored so they can fit a bit better but she does have a cute mens wear inspired swag.

  10. She’s cute! She’s definitely serving many poses, angles and side angles. She does need some tailoring on some of the pieces. Even slouchy has to be deliberate.

Her blog is super cute too but the font is crazy small. I wanted to read the Monet Mazur interview but eyes couldn’t take it.:/

  11. I like her look- chic and colorful. She’s a tiny girl that could use a good tailor, though. She’s swimming in some of those getups.

  12. Thank you everyone for your feedback!!! I really went back and forth on my submission but I’m glad I did it!!! Looking at some of my choices, I could def look into tailoring! Thanks again… and this is not the last you’ll see of me :)

  13. I like most of it. Shoes are cute. The fit and fabric make it too obvious that some of the items are thrifted….can easily double as a costume for 70’s or 80’s day. Nonetheless, an A for effort. Keep up the individuality!

  14. She has nice style…I like the idea of oversized pieces, but a few I found to just be too big in the wrong places and could be more tailored… but I like where she is going.
No a fan of the shoes, they were just too…big…clunky. Aside from that, she is good to go.

  15. GORG. especially the 1st pic & the white ensemble.
the hair is rock-ing. ‘very’ Kandi from RHoA.
i love your 90’s blouse. my daughter’s experimenting with 90s stuff too.
    go girl! :-D

  16. some choices do look a little on the cheaper side, and i would have liked to see more accessories to complete some of her looks, but overall she is well put together. i respect her for not compromising her style although she has a child. more times than not you see new moms sacrifice their wardrobe and style for the new baby. so kudos to you girl!
