  1. just because it zips, doesn’t mean it fits. Shreveport shopping options are limited so E for effort?

  2. 1st outfit was the better of the other ones if I had to choose. The fit is off on the others cause she is such a curvy girl and it looks like she stuffed herself into the short outfits.

  3. Are those spandex black shorts??? The fit of the shorts are all wrong, maybe going up a size and then taking in the waist if it gaps would help. However I do like the charcoal gray and black maxi skirt, minus the 26in weave

  4. everything looks uncomfortable and where is her style?…so I gave her a thumbs down

  5. Daaaamn I love her body! This is what I’m talkin about! She is thick in all the right places and like the way her clothes look on her body! ESPECIALLY the shorts

  6. I like her style BUT….the too tight clothing, works against her. Her style does accentuate her curves as said in her description but I’m sorry to say that the fit doesnt compliment them. Again I like her style but I think she should chose more figure flattering pieces.

  7. Go up a size in your bottoms sweetie and get the back gaps brought in by a seamstress or learn to do it yourself. Also get a minimizing bra, youd be surprised how much it will stop that button gaping/shirt pulling effect for big-busted gals.

Regardless of that I like your style! I especially like the Marilyn tee and denim. If you had gotten a longline short (perhaps the black one being sold at ASOS?) it would have been KILLA.

Since you like a high waist fit, a high waist shaper (check amazon <$30) is in order. I wrote a lot..but its only cause I like your style. LOL. Keep doing you, hon.

  8. I was going through all of the pictures hoping for at least one where the bottom wasn’t so tight. For instance, that Marilyn tee and jean jacket would’ve looked GREAT with a red skater skirt. I think she’d look just as great in a skater skirt – better actually because it wouldn’t look so ‘uncomfortable’. Cute girl but the fit of all the clothing makes her appear very, very young.

  9. I dont agree with anyone who says your shorts dont fit. Yet they do if they didnt your legs would look tighter. However I am feeling your outfits I would just try at least the top or bottom loose if you’re wearing something tight you need to out weigh it with something loose …

other than that i like your style.

  10. Huge umbs down.
One huge component of great style is wearing clothes that fit.
So go shopping, buy the proper size and try again

  11. Great attempt, but like what has already been mentioned, she needs to work on dressing for her size.

Perhaps take all this feedback and submit again so viewers can see how you’ve evolved.

  12. THE FIT IS SO BAD IN THESE IMAGES- WHY WOULD YOU FEATURE A CAMEL TOE PHOTO? THIS IS NOT A SIZE ISSUE IT IS A FIT ISSUE. A WEEKLY TAILORING TIP FEATURE MIGHT HELP- MANY DON’T KNOW THE WONDERS A TAILOR CAN WORK- AND WHAT TO ASK FOR WHEN THEY GO. WE ARE NOT ALL THE SIZES ON THE TAGS IN THE STORE- IT IS ALL BASED ON THE FIT MODEL THEY USE. AS A VETERAN OF THE INDUSTRY, I CAN TELL YOU THEY ARE NOT WOMEN WITH THE CURVES WE HAVE. MOST PEOPLE ARE IN BETWEEN SIZES (ESPECIALLY IN WOVEN PIECES) SO A TAILOR IS ESSENTIAL.

  13. Love the idea of a weekly tailoring tip.claire please consider.i think we all could benefit from the knowledge

  14. Beautiful girl . gorgeous authentic curves!. ..as expressed above the fit is off tho.style is not terrible j7st needs refining

  15. I’ll be the villain again but please, stop being politically correct and using the term “curves”, that does not apply here at all. Period.
All that said, she should wear clothes that compliment her actual body shape, not her imaginary one. But she has a pretty face though.

  16. NOW THIS IS JUST WHAT YOUR BLOG IS ABOUT- GREAT FASHION LIKE THIS!!! THIS SAY IT ALL ABOUT YOUR FASHION BLOG!

  17. Anon @ 3:31 – Now THAT is CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. I agree with every word. Bravo! Claire – please do consider a post on tailoring clothes.

  18. IS THIS BLOG ABOUT FASHION OR IS IT ABOUT FEATURING FOLKS SO THAT PEOPLE CAN WRITE CRUEL REMARKS!! I THINK THIS BOMBSHELL OF THE DAY IS A BIG JOKE!!!

  19. It’s been a long time since i’ve commented anything on this website but I just had to with this one. I wish I could erase all the negative comments about fit and size etc. Believe me, you are one of the most beautiful girls (bombshells) i’ve seen in the last months. You have beauty! I loooooove your curvy body and wish i had it too. Your fashion choices are great and fun, your outfits always come together perfectly. I think you should keep it up! I voted bombshell!

  20. @ Marthe, most of the comments made were not negative @ all. It was mostly constructive criticism. Maybe you dont read this blog very often….because this criticism is as nice as it gets & it can be brutal.

  21. Love the last outfit, the polka dots with coral top and camel boots was a great look :)

Like everyone else mentioned the fit is an issue. Buying up a size and using a tailor can be a hassle but looking and feeling great in your clothes is well worth it!

Hit up yelp and find a tailor with great reviews and watch them work magic on your wardrobe, you won’t be disappointed :)

  22. Keep doing you, that is what makes a bombshell unique. Don’t worry about a tailor, if you get a tailor then it would no longer be your style. You don’t have to please anyone other than yourself. Keep it positive, you are a beautiful girl :)

  23. OK, here goes. BEAUTIFUL girl with gorgeous curves. No one talked about her size, in fact I got the feeling that most people think she is quite luscious. But the fit of those shorts is indeed an issue. The bad fit doesn’t accentuate the positive – it actually makes problems that aren’t necessarily there. Girl, you are HOT, you don’t need the heat friction caused by those shorts. And just one more thing…..girl…..please burn that Sheba, Baby wig and outfit. It does you no good. Stick with the striped midi-skirt which looks amazing. And as far as hair goes, you are BEAUTIFUL, all that hair distracts from your gorgeous face and those KILLER cheekbones.

  24. A definite NO based on fit of clothing more so. Lots of potential however, and not afraid to play with patterns. She just needs to take those simple things into consideration and I’m sure she’ll be a bombshell in no time. Fun hair too!

  25. @ilike2smize. You can bury me now, right along with that Sheba lol lol lol. Great critique though

  26. If you actually find stuff that fits it will work. It’s clear you have confidence, and are comfortable to whatever extent with yourself and that is wonderful, admirable even… but a good fit is priceless on any size. The pieces and combinations are really cute. A seamstress and a shaper were suggested, without any malice in my comment, I think those are the two best points of advice here.

  27. Everything is TOO tight, her execution stinks and she’s not polished at all! No ma’am!!

  28. I agree with Emma. One big NO MA’AM. I almost shocked she submitted these pictures. WOW…

  29. There’s a disclaimer that says this: “Comments can be harsh, so bring your A game!” It is what it is. Sometimes people need that harshness. Maybe by next year, she’ll be ready to submit again. And I love the idea of a tailoring tip of the day. Some people simply just don’t know how their clothes are SUPPOSED to fit. (Black) Women think that if they can zip it, and the booty looks “good”, they should go with it. They forget all about that big ol’ “smiling crotch” camel toe in the front.

  30. Is everyone serious here? I’m sorry, this young lady looks a mess. Not because she is naturally unattractive (her natural looks are fine) or carrying a few extra pounds (you can be a bombshell at any size), but because she looks ridiculous. Although some of her outfits are better than others, they are way too tight . I’m sorry, she looks clownish, from the bad weave on down. Ladies of color we need to step it up if we want to be taken seriously on any front. We can be nice and give each other false confidence all we want, the real world is not so kind.

  31. Question? Why was ALL her looks SO TIGHT? Pretty girl , but she’s no Bombshell!!!!!

  32. I actually laughed until I cried. I am certain this was a dare or a joke. I am serious in that belief.

  33. i love her confidence but there 80 girls like this within a 2 block radius of my house in philly………. her clothes are toooo tight but she looks ok

  34. Just because your clothes are “different” from what others are wearing does NOT make it fashionable. Her clothes are too tight and a hot mess.

  35. I have to agree with nyc chick, I can’t take her seriously in some of these outfits. Tight up shorts, and body cons do not make you stylish, but every other black chick is rocking them hard, so can;t blame her for trying. Black is beautiful and our natural beauty is undeniable. So we need to stop ruining it with horrible weave, bad makeup, and ill fitting outfits.

  36. To everyone here; I would like to see you submit a set of photos!

The comment section has really changed from before! Now it’s mostly just criticism. It’s awful to read.

  37. TO MUCH CAMEL TOE ACTION, I THINK SHE A PRETTY GIRL BUT LIKE EVERY ONE SAYS A LOT OF YOUR PIECES ARE TO DAMN TIGHT! ITS TAKE AWAYS FROM THE STYLE IT GOOD TO BALANCE TIGHT PIECE WITH LOOSE ONES

  38. In overall I love some pieces BUT i believe that one should dress up for her body. Having fashion sense doesn’t mean u can get away with everything!!!

  39. i wasn’t going to comment because just about everything that needs to be said has been, but people are lying when they say she looks good in that stripe midi skirt & the polka dot skirt. NO! as with all of the other outfits, they are way TOO TIGHT! what the hell?!!? tai’yana, those skirts do NOTHING for you because you have a large, protruding stomach that makes you look pregnant. you really need to invest in good shape wear if you’re going to continue to wear clingy clothes. shape wear can be your very best friend.

  40. You’re not a fashion bombshell, but you described your style perfectly in the descriptions. You dress appropriately and properly for your figure.

  41. Nice pieces BUT I believe that one should dress up for their body. Having fashion sense doesn’t mean you’ll get away with everything…

  42. @HIPS

“Don’t worry about a tailor, if you get a tailor then it would no longer be your style.”

Wait….what? It would be EXACTLY her style if she got a tailor. That’s the entire point of a tailor my dear.
    I swear these churrins….smh

Camel toes smacked me dead in the face when I opened this post. I think a lot of her looks would have been really cute and def on trend had they fit properly.

  43. Cosign @Emma, “curves”, riiight. Your clothes are ill-fitting in the most unflattering places. The quality of her clothing is also problematic. Nice try.

  44. Not to be mean… I have learned this the hard way as well… but…

When you’re a big girl you can’t have too much going on all at once… AND big hair, AND intense make-up, AND bright colors/ wild patterns, AND tight clothes, AND… See where I’m going with this? Big*Big*big makes one look like a clown. Fashion that is tastefully done, is usually no more than two/three elements… unless you’re a celeb ofcourse that gets away with EVERYthing…

Good luck hun, you are indeed already very beautiful ;)

  45. Totally agree with NYC Chick, her size isn’t a factor. She’s an attractive young lady. Her styling on the other hand is awful from the hair to the shoes and everything in between. Even the poses and expressions are the opposite of flattering. Lived in Shreveport. Have seen far better. Louisiana can do much better. Next!

  46. I love it I think it is well done she is beautiful and confident most thick girls don’t know how to flatter there bodies wearing nothing but fishnets and leggings I love it girl.

  47. A LOT of you guys are haters. Just because you have an opinion doesn’t mean it should tear someone else down. She’s beautiful.

  48. To me her style is BASIC but as she has “curve” it gives the impression it is more elaborated. I’ll pass

  49. Tacky,Generic, over thought as are most people in fashion today. It has nothing to do with her size! Curves are amazing and I’ve seen curvy women rock things better than smaller women…..it’s that’s her clothes don’t fit which ends up making it look tacky and cheap. One of the #1 rules in fashion is a clean tailored silhouette no matter the garment….clothes should accentuate not exaggerate and over compensate. Cute girl average overdone style…..sorry.
