Have you submitted your nominations for Bomber and Bombshell of the Year? We’ll be having our Bomber and Bombshell of the Year showdowns on Friday, so be sure to let us know who should be in the running!
Perhaps you’ll pick today’s Bombshell, Shea from MIA:

She writes, ” Let me start by saying I am stepping way outside of my comfort zone by submitting my pictures for consideration.”

“… Of course anything that forces you out of your comfort zone has to be worth it right?”

” I would describe my personal style as classic with a trendy mix.”

” I am business professional so the majority of my outfits I post on my blog, Curvesandconfidence.com, are for those ladies that like to look professional and polished without having to be a slave to pants suits.”

” I always try to mix it up on the weekends and show my casual side which usually ends up being whatever is most comfortable for Miami weather at the time.”

” As you can see from my pictures I LOVE dresses and skirts, which work best for my curvy shape.”

” For the longest time I would shy away from anything that displayed my curves and I was always afraid to try new things.”

” Well I threw all that junk out the window and now I wear what what makes me happy.”

” I learned to appreciate what I was blessed with because it surely isn’t going anywhere.”

Cute! I love seeing professional Bombshells who keep it conservative yet stylish.

  1. cute!
Im inspired by some of your professional looks because i struggle with how to display my personal style while still dressing professionally.

your red skirt, gold belt, hot pink top combo was probably my fave.

  2. I like the direction she’s going. Classic looks with pops of color and trend here and there.

My advice is that heat needs to be turned up on your shoes/bags/jewelry. I have to say if I’m going to wear a black pump, it has to be killer. Spikes or a nice soft leather. There has to be a wow factor in your outfit, at least one. I loved your color block outfit of the red and pink…until I got to the shoes. I would have loved to see a mixed print silk pump . Everything starts to look like you’re afraid of leaving 1st base in fear of being taggd out. I recommend going to Zara and getting some keys pieces to turn it up. But overall, you stylin my dear!

    Go Boldy!!

  3. I was just on her blog last night. I think she’s very stylish, but I wish she’d ditch the weaves and add more makeup and accessories to her look.
Sidenote: I need that fringed H&M bag. I never saw it in my local store :'(

  4. Yup. Very well executed and I’m with Pinky on displaying personal style while still remaining professional.

  5. She described her style perfectly, so kudos for that! I appreciate her style, it’s very polished, even though it’s a little too conservative for me, but she DID say that these were mostly business/professional looks. I think that she should try to add a more playful element here and there to elevate her looks. Overall great job though!

  6. I love Shea’s style! I follow her blog and she’s ALWAYS on point; whether it be professional or casual attire. Good for you girl!

  7. Girl…is that backdrop Aventura Mall? LOL! Former Miami res…..
But nice style…best I’ve seen even when I lived down there.

  8. Cute!! Im not doubting her career, but professional with that above the lip ring?? Naw, not in DC. She be right at McDonalds.

  9. o yes… I HAVE TO agree that she needs to leave the weaves alone. cos this girl has a glorious afro under all that..

  10. I must say her way of styling is true to her profile. It’s hard as a man to see a business professional who looks amazing every day and look fully confident in what she wears. You don’t have to wear over the top hills (you can’t walk in by 12:00) or short hot skirts (you can’t move in) to look on top of your game. Keep it up Shea you make every single guy in the world believe there are classy sophisticated and professional women out there.
. Keep setting your office on fire girl!!!!!

  11. I like her style. Much like mine. Only thing I would like to see is a pop of color on her lips rather nude or pink. She still looks amazing though.

  12. and I agree with the above the lip ring… not professional … it actually is bad taste to me… otherwise I like her look .. it’s just hard to say it’s classy with that lip/mouth ring…

  13. True beauty, love your style I just viewed your blog and fell in love with your style. You seem to be on your way to someone’s magazine cover. Well-polished and absolutely amazing curves……loving it!

  14. I checked out her blog (which is now a favorite) I can’t believe the places she shop. Her style is affordable and refreshing… love it!!!!

  15. Shea did that! As a professional myself, I typically don’t see outfits I can find at BR to spice up with accessories and go. I really appreciated her opening up to this site – critics go in! I also enjoy those comments from posters. Some good, bad and others plain silly. I will be following her site – she got a new fan.

  16. A true Bombshell!!! Already follow her blog, she’s always polished. I love how she styles her looks, minimal fuss, well put together, and a inspiration to women.

  17. I love her blog, she gives good pointers and points you to great sales! I wish she would wear a tad bit of makeup or at least some lip gloss….

  18. She looks nice, but the outfits are kinda boring. I like the pink and red outfit, but aside from that it’s all basic stuff. I have that fringe bag and i love it so much! I get compliments on it all the time.

  19. For the first time on this site the word curvy is being used appropriately. Yes Hon you have curves for days and toned up as well and every outfit screams im black, educated, sophisticated and classy. I wouldn’t change a thing about your fashion very corporate chic. Ladies take note, a guy here@liv said shea makes him believe that there are classy black women out there. I am also happy to see this side of black women, more power to Shea. I would be proud to have a friend like you.

  20. Umm, that black dress is from Forever 21. What a find! It looks great!

I’ll definitely check out your blog. It’s always helpful to see clothes I would wear the other 5 days of the week.

  21. *****She looks good in a few articles of clothing but her vision gets lost when she wears any outfit that requires a top AND bottom*****

  22. She looks cute for a business PROFESSIONAL…She’s dressed the way NORMAL people dress to go to work. She’s showing off her PERSONAL style instead of dressing in over the top outfits that only look good on camera. Reading these comments I have to wonder if some of you are unemployed, and don’t realize people with REAL JOB’s are not dressed to the nines in quirky getups,(seen ONLY on blogs)everyday.

  23. I love Shea’s style, She exudes confidence and her choices of clothes for her body type is amazing. We’re shaped the same and I follow her blog for inspiration

  24. She looks nice and all, but ive seen these outfits a million times. The red with the pink. Black and white striped skirt etc. Were not all that boring in Miami, I promise!

  25. What an awesome surprise…I loveShae’s blog-she looks amazing, everyday. Every outfit is perfectly executed, per usual. Go Shae.

  26. I’ve been following Shea for at least 6 months or so. I love her style! I think her description is perfect – classic w/a trendy mix. We should all remember that style is personal. If she followed the advice of others, I guess it would no longer be her personal style. I like seeing her bare faced. She’s a beautiful girl and doesn’t need the makeup to make her outfit pop. Love her! Keep bringing it Ms. Shea! :)

  27. LOVE IT! I follow the blog and its for the everyday person who doesn’t live in a fantasy land and plays dress up to impress ppl. Your outfits are always on point!
