We’re taking a detour to St. Louis, Missouri for today’s Bombshell, Shawn:

Good overall! I see lots of potential. My only suggestion is to shy away from shiny fabrics. And denim shorts are best when paired with more casual elements. See more of Shawn’s style at www.fashioncrackheads.blogspot.com.

  2. Sorry I am not liking any of these outfits. Something seems to be off in every picture. I get what she was trying to do but am truly not feeling any of the combinations. Maybe stop trying to be so trendy and different and stick with basics with little pops of individuality.

  8. Her daytime look is nice, but like you said, no no no on shiny fabrics when you have a large chest. She should make sure her clothes fit well, that black blazer was ill fitting.

But if you put yourself up for the Fashion Bombshell judgement, don’t get pissy when you don’t get the applause you think you deserve. Some of y’all do misstep. This is about fashion, not feelings so do you and keep it moving;-)

  13. oh this is bad. those clothes are all ill-fitting…and cheap looking. she’s dressing like she’s a size 4 or 5ish and ends up looking stuffed in her clothes. she has quite a funny looking shape and that style of short-shorts should be a no no for her. I won’t speak on those horrid leopard knock-off booties lmao.

  15. Ya know what? Maybe this is fly in Missouri? Not my taste, but perhaps she’s setting it off in her community. For me, it’s not good, but not bad. And there are some definite misses. Please burn all that satin.

  17. I like the hoodie and boots outfit. To echo some other comments, look for better fitting clothes, or tailor the clothes you purchase. A great fit goes a long way.

  18. @ claire, you are one of the most gracious people i have ever observed on the internet. from people telling you have to run your OWN site, to offering constructive criticism when others just offer negativity, and to trying to remind people to be respectful in their comments, you do it all in polite yet direct way. still loving the site. if people don’t like the bombshell chosen they can start their own site!!!!

  19. i think the satin or sateen or whatever that material might be is not a good look. that stuff was popular in the late 90s- early 00s. and it looks cheap. also, i think she needs to practice a bit more for cuts that flatter her shape. she seems to be apple shaped and in order to balance that she should look for pieces that create a little volume on the bottom instead of short shorts that just accentuate the apple-ness

  21. She is not wearing things that are flattering for her body type. As a woman who has a larger bust and a smaller bottom I know what she is doing wrong. That black blazer fit is all wrong. It’s not horrible the fit is just messing it up.

  23. You know I was not going to comment.. because my first impression would be…she needs to work a bit more on fit and not bringing attention to the biggest part of her body (her girls) with the shiny material- or at least dull down with neutral colors, blah, blah, blah.

    But I go to home girls blog and she called Serena an APE and a man (from the outfit Serena wore to LaLa’s party for her new show)…C’mon son. Really an ape, a man. I am sure with the posts above…You feel EXACTLY like Serena would have felt if she had time to read your basic blog. I don’t like stooping to people’s level cuz “if you argue with a fool, people from a distance can’t tell who is who” BUT that APE comment sent me over the rocker. Check yourself boo boo

  27. i like the green and orange colour-block outfit but i agree with the others. what is with that dressy fuschia button down paired with……..denim cut-offs??? that outfit is like a mullet: business up top, party at the bottom. in addition to the cutoffs, also not feeling all the leggings.

  29. ok so since this is strictly about fashion and style I will critique and speak on the style. Although most outfits were misses in my opinion, I think she did a GREAT job with the denim, black blazer and the leaopard booties. Its a stylish outfit. I also like the color block outfit but unfortunately the fit is not there. With fashion its really is wearing what works with YOUR body type. I have bigger thighs and popeye calves so there are some things I just cannot wear very well (like bermuda shorts or capris good lawd I look bad in those).
    I think this girl has the right idea but just needs a little guidance on fit as that is EVERYTHING in fashion. I do also agree that shiny fabrics arent meant to be worn if you have a bigger chest. My only advice to this girl would be to stay trendy but remember fit. That can make or break any outfit! I would also stay away from too tight of shorts. Try something less form fitting that grazes your thighs instead of hugging them.
    I bet she would look great in a-line skirts and wide leg trousers with a v neck top. Or you can do the slim pants with an oversized or a boyfriend blazer, the possibilities are endless.

  31. First I wanted to say the outfit with the black blazer and denim witht he leopard booties is cute. I do agree with most that fit is EVERYTHING. You can wear the same style outfit, same basics and look fierce if it suits your body type. THe color block outfit is nice also but the shorts do not fit well. Try to find a pair that grazes your thighs instead of hugs them. Maybe paperbag shorts would work better :) I know for me, I have big thighs and popeye calves so there are certain things that I cannot wear that I WOULD LOVE to wear. Fashion is about feeling good and looking good but never go the trendy route and forget about tailoring and fit.

    I bet this girl would look great in a line skirts with a fitted V neck tee. I would also shy away from shiny fabrics as they do accentuate. I understand being confident and wanting to take fashion risks but there are risks and there are “trying too hard”. From these pics I would discern that she is trying too hard.

    Again I think she has a good idea and if she would just work with the fit of her clothes she could have potential for success!!!

  32. This is a NO NO! Im going in because I assume she can handle the heat, since she is apparently a critic of others. Every outfit is wrong. The color blocking idea was good, however it was executed poorly. The body is definitely out of proportion for the looks she is trying to pull off. The satin and faux suede pump is a NO! The lingerie get up over the too tight tube top is a NO! The too tight satin blazer is a NO! Unfortunately she looka like a MAN! Please be aware of the comments that you post about others if they apply to you. BOOP!

  34. I’d say try for outfits that fit Triangle shapes (not apple, IMO).

    I like your curly windblown look (hair) and I love dressing up my daisy dukes BUT you have to do it like you mean it. A bad ass structured blazer (think classic Chanel-esque) and a badDER shoe is always a winning combo.

Ok so I’m not really feeling some of the pieces but I think that because she is smaller at the bottom and heavier at the top(a la LaLa) she should try to wear fuller things at the bottom and more fitted things at the top because most of the outfits just make her look like she’s going to topple over, IMO.

  59. I looked at her blog for a minute after everyone went off on the Serena Ape calling which was totally inappropriate. I not a fan of her blog or her style. And calling Rihanna outfit with the feathers a fail shows that your range of what is fashion is very limited.

  63. The color block outfit is cute, I must say I do see a lot of trend in your outfits but not enough of your basic fundamental style that defines you. I think some tweaking here and there with fabric, length and accessories will boost your wardrobe.
