Since we had such spirited comments with last week’s Bangalore based Bombshell, I decided it was high time we featured yet another Indian stylista. Today’s submission is from Shalini, a blogger for www.stylishbynature.com:

She writes,”I buy in luxury boutiques but also in casual stores.

My goal is to show you how we can be beautiful, trendy, stylish in every sense, pondering the purchase according to the latest trends of the moment !”

” I hope to be a source of inspiration for everyone who likes fashion and those who want to embrace this world.”

“My blog, Stylish-By-Nature is a fashion and style blog for all like-minded people who believe that style runs in their blood and is as important as breathing.”

” You will find lifestyle, street style, vintage, designer couture collections, affordable fashion, product reviews; everything that can be useful to your image.”

” Look forward to more on fashion, food, fitness, fun, friends and flavors of life.”

I’m looking forward to checking it out! I love your color blocking outfit, as well as the turquoise number with gold jewelry. My only suggestion (if I may) would be to smile a little! But hey, what do I know.
What do you think?

  1. Ok the shoes are a hot mess! but keep in mind she’s not from the US..so give her a lil credit.. it’s better than the kitten hills that Kenya Bell from basketball wives wears 0-O

  2. Claire thanks for posting another blogger from Asia. I love her style and I like how she is having fun with it. Wanna see more future fashion bombshells from Asia. Shalini do your thing.

  3. where the real fashionistas at? if it looks like i can buy it at the local mall, they should not be the bombshell of the day.

  4. i like her choice of colors, but the outfits are boring.not sure what her age is,but i seen 16 years olds in the mall with better style then this.your fashion sense is suppose to get better with age.

  5. @heyyall .. just cuz shes not from the US doesnt mean they dont have the same shoes we have.. Pppl chose what they think is cute and thats what she likes

  6. I just like the second look with the green heels. Over-all i dont really like it. But she was brave to post her pics. So Congrats to that

  7. Funny, I do wonder what kind of access they have there because when my colleagues from Mumbai and Bangalore come over they tear up the shoe department at Neimans in the King of Prussia mall :). So I’m wondering they have less access to some of the fab shoes we have here.

  8. No. Very outdated shoe game, accessories look too cheap, bad mixing and what’s up with the “I’m about to fall” pose? She looks like woman from the early 90s who traveled to 2012 and mixed all her clothes the 90s way (not updated way)…She really can’t dress. Sorry

  9. @ Hey Yall: you should maybe get a passport and travel more. Fashion is worldwide. India is an advanced developing country. Those huge international retailers have their factories in India. So please get off your american horse. Thanks!

  10. lacks confidence with the same poses going on. the outfits don’t stand out. the shoes are all horrendous. hmm .i think, no.

  11. Claire, I do believe that your readers need to do more cultural research. If they were up on their information in that regard, they’d see that the fashion culture of india is much more conservative and modest. Just because she isn’t wearing sky high Jeffrey Campbells or Louboutins doesn’t mean that she is not fashionable in her own regard. I loved the post from last week and I love this one even more. Good job, Claire.

  12. America is NOT the only place with great fashion. Get a passport and use it. Anyway, this is not a bombshell. This look like stuff my aunt’s wore in the 80’s and 90’s. Also, I enjoy your suggestions,Claire. Nothing wrong with constructive criticism.

  13. I wasn’t dissing the girl I was saying (go easy) where she’s from they may not have the same type of shoe slection..u can cleary see from the photos…so @Lea fall back! *comment on her pic’s not my comment*

  14. @Muah, last time I checked this was Claire’s blog so she can make any comments/recommendations that she wants to.

  15. Hmmm…Its funny how Claire said the same thing about the shoe selection in the Bangalore post…yet she was crucified for it.

  16. people who says she may not have access to nice shoes because she from india are freakin idiots.you do know that alot of high end designers are world wide.people really need to step outside their country more.

  17. Her shoe game has nothing to do with getting through customs or conservatism. Matter of fact, she’s wearing a LBD above the knee in one picture, which would not be the definition of conservative. Her shoes are just not the best part of the outfits, plain and simple, in my opinion.

  18. I think she dresses her body well. She curvey but doesn’t wear the one size too small like Kim. The shoes really don’t bother me much. My only suggestion would be to add some color to her face. Blush girl! Blush!

  19. Cute Style overall but I do agree her shoe game throws everything off. Not because they are mostly kitten heels but because they simply look cheap.

  20. I’ve been to India and all I can is say their shoe game is not on the stripper hoe tip, not even when it comes to the wealthy. I am really bored looking at these pics. First of all you need to do something with your hair. Please add some color and get a cut that would add volume and left our face. GET A BRONZER! I know being darker in India is not a good thing, but you look sick, and you need a slight tan to your skin. On your style, DO NOT WEAR CHEAP FABRICS! THE BLUE DRESS AND THE BLACK DRESS LOOK CHEAP. The rest of the outfits are just simple I guess.

  21. second is my favourite, i also like the first and the maxi skirt, but the rest is just a little plain. Nothing wrong with your outfits, just a tad too boring to offer this blog :)

  22. @hey yall they do have the same shoe selection and better.. In the US they have Gucci, red bottoms and everything else but that doesnt mean everyone got it, cuz i sure dont.. Just because shes not wearing certain shoes dont mean they dont have it out there. Thats what SHE like to wear.

  23. I like it…its cute. i know it may not be fashion forward to us but from being from another country that has a substantial amount of sexism (i.e. forced abortion w/female babies) I think it’s great that she is voicing her opinion and doing fashion according to HER culture and HER sense of style.

  24. I find her style to be dull, but I think by Indian standards she is probably pretty fashionable. We have to remember most of us are very fortunate to have greater access to things that many parts of the world do not.

  25. wow. this post is making realize that a lot of people have no idea how other people live in other countries. Not everyone in developing countries are living below poverty. A lot of comments have made remarks regarding her “access” to stuff, which I don’t see on any posts about American Fashion Bombers who may not have the best of everything. smh

  26. HELLO!!! u ppl see what u want to see..NO one said anything about her living in poverty where did u get that from @Alyssa

  27. I like her…like from state to state style and fashion varies and of course it will vary when it comes to the US and India. She did a good job overall. I have been to different countries but Korea sticks out in my mind…their fashion is ridiculously sick!!!!! (The good kind) I mean they throw on so many colors, patterns and prints and it looks amazing. It makes your eyes dance!!!! They had access to everything but they chose what’s “in” in their country. For example, lingerie in Korea is conservative!!! Regular pantie and bra sets….I saw 1 shop that sold 1 style thongs… I don’t see many people from other countries rocking the same “US” style trends even if they are living here. I like her, she did good in my opinion…it was easy breezy fashion! Comments about 80’s and 90’s fashion are crazy because what’s vintage??? Aren’t platforms from way back when?? Aren’t so many items purchased now days a close reflection of the 20s -90s??? Vintage is just that!!! People bring back things alllll the time, and it works! People do throwbacks all the time…nothing in fashion is so new that no one has never done it before…we wear the same things that our parents, grandparents and great grandparents wear…we aren’t doing anything new, platforms, maximum skirts and dresses….and rompers and jumpsuits(something parents kept us in) are all from a time that was before now…fashion evolves and definitely repeats itself…

  28. african americans really need to travel a little bit more, to get a whole new perspective on life. I am black myself but you can definately see the ignorance here. yeh some are more travelled, educated and exposed but i do say the majority are less travelled and the evidence is all here with some of the comments here and their definition of what fashion is.

  29. whether her shoes r cheap or not… they still look cute and pratical. She looks stylish and kept and I love it

  30. @moi why you said “African Americans” U can’t see race from the name.. Your bringing your own people down including me

  31. I love her “outdated” style as some are calling it. I especially LOVE the teal green long skirt, and the yellow “granma” shoes!!! Werrrrrrrrrrk it honeyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

2 snaps a twist and a cola on the side

  32. That her style. Everyone has their own style. If we wore the same look we would be boring. Let her be Fab in her own way. You go Shalini! :-)

  33. I love love love the blue and black outfits. The colour blocking does not work for me but I love everything else. I think her shoes look absolutely lovely. Some of you hatin’ heauxs raid vintage shops in nyc and atl, scooping up similar designs but when a foreigner wears them, you call her shoe game circa 1996. Girl, bye! I’m not here for hypocrisy. The nerve of you H&M – wearing heauxs. Like, what do you know about durable fabrics and styles? when all your asses do is copy rihanna and d-list celebrities like teyana taylor and kim kardashian? lol ignorance is bliss I swear.

Shalini, YOUR STYLE IS ABSOLUTELY CLASSY AND GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haters gonna hate but hey! that’s why their fat and ugly asses are behind the computer screen, not in it.

  34. THANK YOU!!!!!! @ staci and lola…….btw y are ppl commenting on her skin color smh that’s how God made her leave the damn girl alone…not my taste style but it works for her ….looks very clean, classy and simple!

  35. Her style is rather plain, but I have to say I myself stick to alot of safe pieces. In my 30’s I am just now exploring different patterns and looks that I normally wouldn’t. I love the green skirt.

  36. @Moi,please rethink your comment.. There is a large number of NON Americans posting..Don’t get besides yourself. You’ll see when you’re older.

  37. LMAO! @ LOLA!!! OK!!!? smh i can’t see how majority of ppl are calling her style outdated?? its classic, chic, and mature!

  38. I like her looks a lot. I think her shoes are fine and not cheap looking at all. They’re not ultra trendy like the shoes we’re seeing on American celebs and that’s fine.

One problem, the face in these photos need some life. Crack a smile, you look good!

  39. Um what’s with the neck action….these poses. She a cute girl, love her color choice.

  40. Her signature pose is KILLING me though! Stand straight lady, you’re cute! Her style in nothing special but at least it’s classy, lady-like and clean.

  41. You guys really don’t get the meaning of fashion. It doesn’t mean wearing the latest trends and the latest designer clothes/shoes. This lady looks great. She dresses to compliment her figure. Her shoe game is not bad. I love her style over all. Very simple and safe. To me, she’s a fashion bomb. I bet those passing negetive comments can’t even dress up to save their lives! Go on girl. Do you.
