Hey Bombshells!

Today we bless your Monday morning with this pic of Rion, a Fashion Diva from Dayton, Ohio:

Rion-Dayton-Ohio-The-Fashion-Bomb

She says, “I believe I should be Fashion Bombshell of the Day! I live in Dayton, Ohio, and my style is different from most.  Everyone in Dayton pretty much dresses in urban fashion, however I love high fashion.  My style is very versatile,  I follow trends but add my own flava.”

  1. *sad panda*

Ok, even tho mama-cita above is not the bizness when it comes to what we think to be “top fashion”, she is what all fashion bomb readers are, and that’s beautiful.

But honestly, to all the females that commented, OBVIOUSLY Fashion Bomb needs more submissions for Bombshells, so SUBMIT SUBMIT SUBMIT!

Don’t just talk mess, put yourself out there and compete.

    Holla! :)

  2. i agree with velvet! i think sometimes we get carried away and try to “rip each other apart”- how about saying how u feel, but being mindful that the person that submitted this pic will actually read these comments. I do agree that more people need to submit their pics. Honestly as a true fashion bomber i believe we all should submit once in a while as i’m quite sure we all love fashion, but have different takes on it.

I think her style is cute. I dont find it to be very unique to what i see in the area i live in, but in her last pic i think she was going in the right direction, would loved to have seen ur shoes lady! :)

  3. I honestly think that her hair is definitely a no-go for me. But some of the pieces she has do work. I think her outfit in the last picture was very cute and trendy. Then the first picture, I liked her outfit as well. The other two pictures, well one is too dark so I’m not sure what she’s wearing, but the other one could use some work. The concept is good, but the combo is not as great. All in all, we need to realize that everyone has their own sense of style, whether it’s based on trends, staying away from trends, or just not caring about any of it and just dressing how you feel. Anyone who doesn’t give constructive criticism is just being a bully, and I’m hoping people are more mature than that. It’s time to stop the bullying and start being mature about what you say. Stop pointing out all of the negatives and give her some credit, okay?

We all need to put in our pictures, because honestly, whose to say that you dress better then her? No one’s going to know that unless you submit your pictures and they use them.

  4. Yes that is me in those pics. And to everyone making comments. You have to keep in mind where I am from. Dayton is not New York, LA, Chicago,or Atlanta. We don’t have a Saks or Nordstroms. I have to drive 45 minutes to another city just to get to bebe and Urban Outfitters. Everyone here dresses in Baby Phat and Deron the fact that I don’t makes me very unique where I live. So it may seem normal and cheap to y’all but to me its not. But since y’all have sooo much style and so much to say why don’t yall submit to be fashion bombshell. Maybe y’all can teach me a few things. (Or not).

Or and a side note I’m a college student so yes I stay at forever21. But I guess must be big ballers staying in Gucci and Loubatans. I’d love to see it. I’ll do y’all just like y’all did me.

  5. Your style is unique but then it is not.. Try looking online for some of the things you have in your mind that you want to portray on your body.. I can tell that you are trying but you shouldn’t per-say try “too” hard. Let it come naturally and read magazines; you will have it in no time.. :)

  6. The fact that she’s enjoying dressing and working it to distinguish herself from the crowd shows the young lady has style, which for everyone is a work in progress. And she has a gorgeous smile, which brightens up everything. Do you, Rion!

  7. Rion- I actually like all of the outfits. Yes, the last picture looks a little sloppy but I LOVE the jacket and I can see where you are going. There has been LESS than mediocre bombshells on this site who got mad props for their outfits, but I think you are doing it girl and there’s no need to defend yourself, I can see you do have a sense of fashion, and being from a little town myself I can appreciate these looks :)

  8. O hush and stop your wining! It does’nt matter where you live, pick up a magizine or use this website for hintful fashion tips! Your just making excuses…but there is no excuse for a lack of fashion ladies! get it together…and sara jane talking bout we are all grown yes to damn grown to be dressing that way! I am a college student myself and work full time and yes a majority of my money is spent on fashion!

  9. i understand not living in a major city may possibly effect ur fashion choices, BUT, that isn’t an excuse, hell u can order online or buy cheaper clothes and make em look good…you don’t have to live in a major city to have style…nice try though…i need to submit some photos since i’m talkin sh*t but seriously…good try but FAIL…

  10. For those that say people are being mean or instead of commenting put your own pics up I say this: when people make the CHOICE to submit pics they open themselves up to critique & people are not always going to sugarcoat their comments. If this is something you think you may not want to read or you can’t handle it, the solution is very simple..don’t submit any pics. If I choose to (which I jut might)submit pics I have to be okay with any and ALL critiques thrown at me. If you are styling & doing it in your pic then I will give props all day, but if you are not then you are getting my true thoughts..especially when looking to be called “fashion bombshell.”

  11. And you don’t need to wear Gucci or Christian Louboutins to look stylish, it just takes a stylish & creative mind.

  12. Hey Rion

Thanks for your pics. You are a beautiful girl. I like some of your pieces like the flowy top + shorts combo in the first pic is too cute and blue-ish skirt in the third pic is great too. I would lose the pink belt and the jacket in the last pic (unless something is an authentic designer piece (if it is.. IGNORE THIS..lol.. I would not wear it).

I know what it can be like living in a fashion-starved city..but you can do something about it (and save gas). Try visiting vintage and second hand stores for more unique stuff and also ordering online (try sights like ModCloth, Alloy and others.. also I like Ebay and there are some great sellers on etsy.com)

And some of these comments are a damn shame. While posting a pic leaves one open to criticism, criticism can be offered without being mean. This is a great site that recommends and also criticizes but in a classy manner. Look, I am not always on point in my fashion game but I try to put my best foot forward and I appreciate Rion for that

  13. No excuses. I’m used to negitivity. Black women love to break down other Black people. Thankfully I love myself a lot and know I’m beautiful no matter what others have to say. I’ve survived highschool….and this is def reminding me of my childish behavior them. Obviously I’m one who is bold enough to share my pics. If all of you are soo fly please share it with the world. I personally would love to see it. And I’m done. Can’t wait to see your pics. Thanks Clair for posting my pics! Smooches.

  14. Everybody kind of has a point.

When you submit your photo you do open yourself to criticism, which of course can be harsh. However, some of you all are just being too mean.

I definitely don’t think these looks are bombshell, but there’s potential. I know what it’s like to have everyone around you dress in urban fashions and not live in a fashion market. My suggestions: use this site. Claire keeps us up on the hottest trends, especially mail bombs, they are the greatest. Secondly, internet shopping is your friend. I buy 80% of my clothes through the web from the same retailers. Some have free shipping or coupons; it’s great, especially on a college student’s budget. They have the same sales as the store, but they are more likely to have more sizes and a bigger selection. Third, try stores like TJ Maxx and Ross. Some of the so called ‘fashionistas’ on this site wouldn’t be caught there, but they don’t know what they’re missing. To me most of the store is complete junk, but every now and then you’ll catch a great deal.

  15. Im from athens ohio (college student at OU).. born and raised in D.C. I have to say there isn’t alot around Ohio to like go all out on fashion foreal…I mean everyone in ohio is rockin applebottom and roca wear like it’s the newest thing ….but I think considering the lack of fashion in ohio I think rion did well I think she could get better with time if she expands her eyes to fashion a bit more i think she could work it

and I note to the girls in ohio…please stop wearing the tank tops with the big ass belt and the skirt thats pulled over your stomach it’s not cute at all, it makes it look like you have a gut

P.S. the vintage stores are the ish in ohio i found a vintage chanel purse for like 2 dollars and a hermes for like 15
