Hey Hey!
Today’s brave Bombshell is Nic from Baltimore, Maryland:

She says, ” As an avid thrifter, I LOVE thrifting and finding unique and different items. I am addicted to accessories, blazers, and clutches.”

” I would say my style is clean and a classic, with a twist. Most of my statement or WOW factors come from my accessories or one unique article of clothing like a blazer or a pair of shoes.”

I am learning and beginning to embrace color, without being cliche. My day-to-day life doesn’t always allow me to wear high heels or pumps but when I can dress up and throw on a pair, I LOVE it! It makes me feel even more fabulous!”

“Being a blogger has really helped me try new things and find out more about my style. I am happy with my fashion choices, and happy to say that I don’t look like everyone else.”

“As I always say, “dare to be different.” I like to stand out, but not in an obnoxious way. There’s nothing wrong with loud and bold…I just like to do it in moderation. I’m a simple chick who loves thrifting and finding good deals!”

“My blog, Nic’s Picks (www.nics-picks.com) is a way of expressing my fashion sense, as well as letting my readers get a peek into my everyday life.”

I salute your gift of thrift (I’m horrible at it!). You look very well put together, simple and classy. You can’t beat that with a bat!
What say you?

  1. She’s so honest and I like that’s she’s practical. She def described her submission accurately. Sometimes one pop of color is all you need.

  2. Not bad…I like the last look especially and the second to last I love the jacket and the color…not bad at all though…simplicity works and it works for her…she’s put together well, and her description is a perfect reflection of her style :-)

  3. OMG, Claire!!!!! , lol…she said “Today’s “brave” bombshell” lol…I just saw that…

  4. I like it, but I would love it more if she could just embrace color without hindrance! The green dress which looks great on her silhouette, brought the fabulousness down a notch….she could have worn a red one, or one with animal prints…roar!!! Other than that, she kiiiiiiiiyyyuuute, has a nice sense of style that just needs some spruce up with kolor!!

    BOMBSHELL!

  5. she’s cute…and its whats she REALLY wears everyday…i like it…she looks classy and fashion forward…and i love thrifting! :)

  6. Nic is great! I am a follower of her blog and enjoy her posts and style. She was dead on in her description that she doesn’t look like everyone else and her style is unique and stands out in a good way!

  7. @Staci,

I think every bombshell has to brave considering the onslaught so many of them receive. I doubt Claire is trying to throw shade at this woman. I give Nic credit for submitting.

  8. PEOPLE…people…I like this girl…Not everything has to be Over The TOP!!
she knows what to wear and how to wear her look! I LOVE the paisley top…LOTS of drama!! You wear your clothes well girl. I love the looks just keep evolving…

  9. There is nothing about her look that stands out to me. Her opinion matters to her, so if in her mind she stands out or is doing something unique then that is all that matters.

  10. This in NO way stands out. looks like Old Navy threw up.

if in her mnid she thinks she stands out its probably because of her size.

but she should keep doing what she is doing.

  11. I like it. Real world style. But I must say that it’s not all that unique. I know lots of women who dress like this. Perhaps its unique for where she’s from. And I didn’t see any WOW factors. However she is still bombshell worthy for knowing which silhouettes, colors and materials fit her. Also she should work on lengths because a lot of her tops hit below the waist and make her legs look shorter than they are.

  12. Im a woman who luvs thrifting as well, but my problem w/her finds are they look dated and old fashion mayb if she pair em w/something a bit modern they’ll work the art of thrifting is not looking like it.u should look like u spent a million bucks no matter where u shop

  13. I agree with the idea that thrifting is definitely something to wreckon with however I also agree that you must be careful when thrifting. You have to re-create many pieces and make them modern and more fashion forward! I do think some of her pieces are dated and over sized. But I do think she has a sense of self and does what she thinks works best for her. She is definitely not the worse we’ve seen. Kudos to her though for making it work!

  14. For some reason I felt I was at church! So plain. Someone pass the bowl so I can make a donation. Poor tink tink

  15. Her style is very pleasant for a plus size young lady. She seems a little scared of color, so I would tell her to experiment a little more with colors, hair, and makeup. I’m not saying go crazy with it, but don’t be scared to do something out of the norm. I love the fact that I didn’t see rolls or anything unpleasant in her pics. She’s a little too conserative dressing for her age, but I like how she carries herself.

  16. I do agree with BlkRose, she does need to experiment more with color…especially with makeup.

She definitely is more refreshing to look at than TOD! LOL! #okbye

  17. I like some of her looks, very cute. She is just lacking a bit of polish that would take her looks to the next level!

Also, the natural minimal make up look is beautiful, she is such a pretty woman, but a little bit of lipstick and some eye shadow would add a nice pop of colour!

  18. Nic is a polished exhibit of a beautiful, motivated, stalwart and accomplished woman for her age group (25 and over lol)This Classic BombShell not only inspires people with her epic chic style, but also through her exceptional writing tone, commitment to community, and daily philanthropic endeavors! For those individuals who may not have had the privilege to know her personally, should know that she really defines her own style and it is always a pleasure to experience her riveting outlook on fashion, art, and life (fictional or non-fictional) on paper or across a digital screen.

    Respectfully,
    TJ HENRI

  19. @ TJ Henri- Please save all that for when she gets a Nobel Peace Prize, cures Cancer or Diabetes. She submitted her pics (style) to be reviewed.
The majority of the participants don’t think her style rates as “Bomb Level”..Nic will not keel over. More importantly, millions of people can still sleep on their left side tonite.

PS..Respectfully look up the meanings of epic and riveting before attempting to add these adjectives in your sentences. You also switched past/present tense several times in your “well” crafted defense of your boo. So sweet!

  20. I like it – it’s just enough. Like another poster said you can still be fashionable without going over the top.

  21. I like it. It’s a real world style. But it’s not all time unique. I know lots of women who dress like this. Perhaps its unique for where she’s from. However she is still bombshell worthy.

  22. I like it. She’s very approachable and while this is not inspiring me personally; she looks great. Is there a defition somewhere that says a bombshell has to be ‘unique’? Not everyone is going to be unique or adventurous with fashion. Because someone is ‘plain’ does not make them any less fashionable than someone who’s if the looks are equally put together.

  23. Not a fan of all the looks but she looks very nice. My favorite is the printed tunic with the jeans.
