We’re ending this third week of March with Monroe from New York:

She says, “My style is a pretty eclectic mix of everything from structured chic to bohemian.”

” I love thrift hunting and vintage shopping especially in NYC. The thrifting possibilities are limitless here.”

“… I’m all about mixing high and low pieces in my wardrobe. I actually find it quite thrilling to see if I can put a whole outfit together from all thrifted and vintage pieces.”

” Creating an outfit is an art form to me.”

“… I love bright pops of color and sky high heels and platforms. I dress for me and rarely ever ask anyone how something looks on me. If I like it..I wear it!”
Gorgeous looks, and I love. your.shoes. Love! See more of Monroe’s looks at www.fashionsteelenyc.com.

  1. I discovered her blog a week ago. It showcases her amazing personal style. This girl is super fly. These pictures only scratch the surface!

  2. Really eclectic style…my favorite look is your last one. Where are some of your favorite vintage stores. I’m in Bk and only know of a few… :(

  3. LOVE LOVE LOVE this girl… her blog is off the chain and she inspired me to start blogging. She is a great choice for FB. Great style and such a sweetheart.. I know ya’ll think I have a good heart, I am NOTHING compared to her!

  4. I’ve visited her blog before and think she’s got a very nice style going. As a matter of fact, we share a liking for the same shoes. All of these shoes are dope too.

  5. Love it.. Her style is super cute, and she def get extra points cause she’s a NY girl..

  6. Now THIS is a fashion bombshell. I enjoy Monroe’s style and those blush coloured wedges are divine. Im glad she dresses for herself and shes great at handling accessories. Lovely style Monroe

  7. Great pageboy hair in last pic. I thought the wedges came off best in that picture as well, great pose, I really like the top too, she looks soft and chic. I liked the green-gold and burgundy mix, especially with those fabulous shoes and the tights, all of the draping was fresh and fabulous. The pageboy style works on you, very pretty face.

I thought all the other styles were so safe. Some of the textures, colors and the fits came off mass-produced and less special, i.e. the pistachio pants, the slate blazer, the dark leggings, the lace skirt. The styling looks like it’s reaching toward Shibuya (maybe she’s not) but wasn’t very convincing. The accessory tones, shapes and textures didn’t seem to do much for the outfits or the FB either IMO. I didn’t get a sense of thought put into the pieces or the pairings but like her philosophy.

Beautiful face, beautiful smile. Thx FB!

  8. Effortless quirk. I dig it!
