Today’s Bombshell is Maquiah from New York:

She types, “I’m a Fashion Designer…”

“…and the Creative Director for MABM Designs based in New York from Ghana.”

“…I have a nurtured sense of style…”

“…and I describe it as unique…”

“Confident…”

“… and traditional.”

“I wear most of my designs.”

“Check me out at www.mabmdesigns.com.”

“And on Facebook at www.facebook/mabmdesigns.”

Love it all! Lots of fabness going on, loving the African prints and pops of neon color!

  1. I like it. It’s ladylike and fun. it suits her. The dresses are a tad too tight but i’ll still say bombshell.

  2. She’s gorgeous! I knew she was a fellow Ghanaian, lol. I loved most of it, with the exception of about two looks.

  3. I liked the last outfit the most. the pink dress is a no for me and so is the neon green dress. For me Hits and misses

  4. I’m biased when I see lots of prints; especially African prints because I love them so much. I like how she incorporates it in w/out looking costume-y. She looks great to me.

  5. Okay, I really like the last look(Kente peplum) and the outfit w/the white cape and printed pants <<okay loved that one. The rest are okay, but what I liked I reaaaalllly liked- so bombshell from me.

  6. Very nice! Not sure where she is going with a prom dress and carrying that Zara bag though.

  7. Omg I love her. Best bombshell this year so far. I love all the funky prints and bright colors right up my alley. Ive heard of her designs before.

  8. I like most of it. I voted bombshell, even though a couple of the looks made me frown. But I liked it enough where I’m willing to check out her website!

  9. Oh wait I like what she’s submitted but her site the pieces some of them look well…..odd. But great look on her personal style.

  10. About time!! A few misses (pink dress) but so many hits plus I love your hair styles. The complete look is very regal. Love the red top and orange maxi skirt, the striped blouse pictured with the black pants, the patterned pants and green shoes, and the african print (last picture) is a must have. I have some similar fabric..hmmmm…

  11. I’ve been so against the majority lately. I really don’t like anything here. And the bombshells that other people haven’t likes, I was kinda feeling. Weird.

  12. I’m Ghanaian by proxy  but only ended up liking her “African” ‘fits. There are some outfits that suit her body much better than others. Fave: blue purse/green shoe capri pant.

  13. Soooooooooooooo they are in the apple store dressed like they going to an erykah badu concert and church…. Next

  14. Hey Claire, not sure if you’ve been told, but each time that I try to vote, the “Vote” button takes me to a different website (twiigs?) to view the results, but all I wanted to do was vote. Maybe this is something new, and I’m late?

  15. But why does her hair look like that……. And I thought she was a he turned she.. Oops

  16. Ummmm Claire, this is a monstrosity…. I personally think she’s giving herself compliments… Cuz she is over accessorized….

  17. Yea something is wrong with the voting thing… Cuz she honestly looks a mess…. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s bombshell

  18. I’m with kisha….. This is a thumbs hell no….. And is that her daddy in the apple store?

  19. So I’ve seen her around she always looks so dumb… Like she dresses up in costume always….

  20. Ummm designer…??? She looks pretty clown like to be one…. But then again there is Betsy johnson

  21. Hi guys I understand she looks bad but maybe that is their culture to over do stuff.. I know we can over exaggerate with our goal..

  22. Umm mm Dubai we do not and I repeat donot dress like this….. Hopefully more Africans will represent cuz this is NOT how we dress…
She is not doing our cloth any justice…

  23. @Ghanamisses I understand you do not dress like that, but she does… I know I would not but, I do respect her bravery..

  24. Your right…. Cause she shows up everywhere looking like she fought with a paintbrush… That’s brave….. I do love the pants…lol

  25. Well Claire your trying…… Can you fix the voting button? Not a good day to mess it up….

  26. Oh and she loves that chain….. I actually love the white suit… But her bra does not fit…. O_o

  27. So its obvi fashionbomb readers are diversely mixed…. while I can appreciate African prints.. I must say this is entirely too much…. She is very extra with her outfits… That can be good and bad. Having a carrib background I kno wen its over done…

This is too much….. Her shoes r tacky… Her.clothes make her shape look bad and the hair IS for old ladies…. Her bags are all wrong… But yes but I love the.skirt she wore to the apple store…

  28. Great overall, but Ima need her to get a spanx and a bra that fits! Love her hairstyles and prints!

  29. Ankara, African prints, etc should have been left in 2012…Girl Bye (I just had to comment again) :(

  30. I’m so intrigued by her updo’s in the maxi dress and gold gown. The black & white suit is on trend too. The other looks I’m not so into but she does have a market with her designs. Great job!

  31. Um yea….her choice of shoes kills everything….Seriously, yall gonna give her a pass on those spanx dresses…with those clunkly shoes, horrible, horrible. She looks her best standing with dude…and the peplum AFRICAN print skirt…other than that she is…..Horrible.

  32. My constructive feedback to her is, work on your fit. A lot of your outfits are way too tight, making the outfit look less polished. If you are a designer and wearing your own clothes, everything needs to be on point for people to want to buy your stuff. Also some of the shoe choices or accessory choices were not flattering with the outfit. ex. bulky platforms with a evening dress, a bit confused? You do have potential, but you still need a lot of work, regardless, you are beautiful and keep working at it.

  33. bag & shoe choices kill it. hair is fab. not a fan of that pink crushed velvet.

sidenote: why are people’s descriptions of themselves always so off????

  34. Okay I usually don’t comment but smh people are very rude! She actually looks nice in some of her outfits but anyways, everyone is entitled to their opinion. That being said, @Empress, I’m surprised your a** made it to 2013, YOU should have been left in 2012. Ankara and African prints are part of the AFRICAN CULTURE!!!! I’m sorry, other nonentities decided to jump on the bandwagon and start wearing our clothes and designs, but it’s whatever. Girlll Hi! As long as you shall live, you will continuously see Ankara, so maybe it’s best that you depart as 2012 did :).

  35. Hits and misses…some very ill fitting clothes, but I chose bombshell. Please no more bathroom or apple store photos.

  36. Ankara and African prints are classics, they will remain a part of fashion forever! You’re welcome.

  37. love love love… my first comment and iv opened the website in a new tab.
