Linzi was actually nominated by her friends Crystal and Ayanna who say, “We’ve known Linzi for years and she has always had a great eye for fashion.”

“… She is a beautiful person inside and out. Her birthday is May 31st, and we believe that this would be a great birthday present for her.”

  3. wow I hate to well, umm hate but not seeing the fashion here at all. And her outfit#1 is too small. I love the thick curvy girls too but you still got to bring your A game. This is a “fail” to me. womp womp.

  5. When I did this for my friend, the intention was to honor her, not bring her down. You guys are being flat out rude. I know we’ve heard the saying “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it at all.” You guys don’t have to agree with her fashion choices but keep the negativity to yourself. Linzi, my dearest friend you look great. I love you and happy belated birthday!!

  6. @crystal- you put your friend out there for scrutiny. i mean, seriously, get real, this is the comments section on a fashion blog, and people should be allowed to say what they think, good or bad. nobody is obligated to say they like her outfits just because she’s your friend. also, as her friend, you should let her know when she’s wearing something that is unflattering, like outfit no. 1.

  9. linzi is a great friend of mine and true fashionista in every sense. these picture do not give proper justice to her everyday attire, although they are still gorgegous. people are allowed to have their own opinion, and that is fine. we can respect that. fashion is what makes a person themselves. her body is her canvas, and her fashion is her artwork. what she wears does not need approval. self-satisfaction! xoxoxo

  10. Goodness some people are ridiculous….I think your friend looks great! The blazer is super cute over the first look and I think her makeup and hair are bomb! Tell ur homegirl happy bday crystal! the best accessory is a beautiful attitude and a kind heart. there’s nothing flattering about hate! That’s my opinion.

  12. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but to post such negativity is sad and ridiculous. Linzi is a sweet person, and she can dress her ass off! These pictures are hott, but her best isnt shown here, this is her everday all day. And I bet that she can out dress all of her haters. Everyday she get up she is a fashion bombshell. Thanks to those who left positive comments. Love you Linzi, and this was really nice of Crystal and Ayanna :-)

  14. I have no desire to back and forth with anyone, this is not about me, it’s about Linzi and uplifting her on her birthday. There’s a difference between being constructive and being mean. All I’m saying is let’s be positive. How about we bring each other up instead of bringing each other down. Can we all play nice..Thanks!!

    Anyway, I think Linzi looks amazing and I LOVE her hair and those boots in the second pic. :)

  17. Im going to stick with the if you can’t say nothing nice don’t say anything at all theme and say I like her blazer and her hair in the last pic. I hope you all remember that fashion is relative and objective. If we all had the same taste and style, life would be boring. I also would like to add that if you chose to submit yourself or friend as a “Fashion Bombshell” you also need to remember that as well. I didn’t see anything that was “flat out rude” they just didn’t like it. Keep it coming Claire!

PLEASE hold your breath until you see a picture of me, lol.

  20. and i just want to say that i liked the last two outfits this person wore, and said as much. i think the first is unflattering, and said that too. nothing i said was flat out rude, i was being real. i simply stated my opinion, without being nasty and making personal attacks (like bklynbytch), which is something i believe that i, and every other person here, is allowed to do.

  22. I would want someone to say something to me. I appreciate the confidence she appears to exude to attempt to wear these outfits but this is wrong. The outfits are accentuating unflattering body parts when they should be minimizing them.

  23. oh esme…I was on your side until you implied that everyone who is on fashion bombshell is trying to ” seek out the affirmation or criticism of strangers on the internet on their personal style” Personally, I sent in my pictures because I love the idea of celebrating the personal style of black women on a global level like the internet and I love to give and get inspiration(not affirmation) from others. Anyway, I just really had to say something. Generally, I don’t think you are really that rude-just honest and I’m sure you’ve had nice things to say as well that people don’t bother to remember but I didn’t think that last comment was fair. Please don’t get mad-conflict really isn’t my thing :)

  24. I must agree with some of the other commenters. I’m sure Linzi dresses nicely, but these pics do her no justice. We need to sometimes dress for our bodies and she doesn’t seem to always do that. Again, if you put the pictures out there, prepare for people to comment whether positive or negative. Its not fair to expect everyone to gush when we all have opinions. That’s what the comment section is for.

    I am truly blessed to have friends like you guys (Crystal and Ayanna)!!! What a thoughtful/different way to honor my b-day.. i would’ve never thought of something like this!! Love you guys!!!

    I would say that my style as of now is funky with a taste of old Hollywood glamour… but then again it changes fairly frequently

    These pics are a little dated but they were the best ones my girls could access without asking me so I am very appreciative!! I was going through a bit of a “blazer phase” !! I wish I could show you guys the pieces I put together for my bday…weekend (they were fab!!) but unfortunately I have no camera :(

    im almost embarrassed to say but i had never visited this website before now :/ …but from now on I will visit daily even if its just to cheer on my fellow bombshells!

  30. @onika- i apologize if you thought that was what i was i implying about other people’s rationale for putting their pics out there. i don’t know the what the motivation is for people wanting to be a fashion bombshell or anything else. that is simply my OWN reasoning for why i would never have pictures of myself on a public website. i was irritated when i was writing my response, so it may have appeared otherwise. and i have complimented people but i dont feel the need to justify my opinions by pointing that out, because i think anything i say should be able to stand alone.

  32. I like to distinguish between Bombshells of the Day who volunteer their own photos vs. those who didn’t make the choice and who might be celebrating a birthday. Just place yourself in that individual’s shoes for a moment. Why make this young lady feel like crap around her birthday, especially when she didn’t ask for this? How does it benefit you? I believe in expressing one’s opinions but I also believe in bracketing those opinions in certain situations. And there are ways to express your opinions constructively if you feel the need to say something negative.

  36. I didn’t see any rude comments directed toward the fashion bombshell. But it did get a little nasty in the comments. I hope this won’t lead to the comments being turned off bc I like to read them. People need to get a grip and realize that fashion is relative and not everyone will praise the bombshells in the comments. People also need to realize that we can disagree without getting nasty.
    I think all the outfits are great and I’m looking forward to stealing the hairdo in the last picture :)
