We’re taking a quick trip to the Left Coast with Janet from LA:

She writes, ” I am an independent fashion designer and owner of LoganLovesRylee Clothing online boutique at etsy.com/shop/loganlovesrylee.”

“My style is uber-feminine…”

“… unsuspecting…”

“… Undeniably sassy,”

“Contemporary…”

“…and vintage.”

” I like to mix my personal designs and vintage pieces with a dash of boutique.”

” I choose to style myself rather than ‘get dressed.'”

” It is important for me to create a look that best express how I am feeling for the day with that, every day is an opportunity to strut my stuff on my personal catwalk.”

Work! I love that striped top and skirt. Is that your design?
What do you think of Janet’s looks?

  1. All of the silhouettes are the same. So are the necklines. They’re all form fitting with draped necklines! I will say this though, honey has SWAG :-)

  2. I’m really on the fence with this one…. Her style is lackluster…

The only outfit that stood out to me and actually looked good was the striped midi skirt and crop top .

I’m not sure if it’s the pictures and lighting but her clothes look cheap to me – the material looks thin and dull (especially all the maxi dresses).

However, her shape is definitely on point!

  3. Pretty woman, ok style. But side eye to an online boutique w/ only 2 items?????

  4. My favorite look is the strip skirt with the crop top but ever thing else is really basic which is not necessarily a bad thing. But I wouldn’t say bombshell. Her figure is awesome so it definitely adds the umph to her looks and she doesn’t have to do all the “extras” but cute girl, cute simple looks but not bombshell in my opinion

  5. I like her style, its very grownwomanish. My favorite has to be the black white and blue ensemble!

  6. That white dress and the one shoulder maxi, need to be in my closet! Just checked the site for those but didn’t see. If you designed those, please restock. I will DEF buy!

  7. Oh man. She is gorgeous. Great body, incredible legs. Would have loved to see some outfits that were more body con, not just dresses.

  8. I’m not really seeing too much personal style/bombshell worthy outfits….but she’s cute, she gets my vote for top model chic lol!

  9. Cali casual, cute!…..I love the dresses…perfect for the sunny Cali weather / rooftop parties, and concerts @ tha park …I maybe bias because I loves dress…and im from Cali! lol

  10. why do black girls equate dressing sexy with clothes being tight. Geesh its other silhouette than “busted can of biscuits.” no offense to this chick.

  11. Damn this is her fashion, while I do not like every piece I will not say she looks hideous! She’s a cute girl and if she walked past your man in some of those outfits he would look. But some of ya’ll females ( and I use the word losely) ripped her to threads for wearing form fitting outfits, ya’ll need to STFU! I’m tired of coming on here and it’s the same internet gangsters, trying to ruin someones day! And then someone said her style looks cheap, so let me get this right u went to the mall with her, or my bad u went to the fabric store, nope not there either, then STFU! Fake as* internet bully’s! But I’ll check u boo! Why we as black women stay ripping each other apart? Now comment on that!

  12. @bougiehippie if it’s no offense to this chick then why post it on “this chick”‘s submission? And please don’t generalize black girls/women I’m sure you wouldn’t like anyone generalizing angry gay black boys in ill fitting denim. ulp.

  13. love that shes into dress’ but you gota mix it up sometimes! more verity.. but cute :)

  14. I thought her fashion was simply beautiful!!! I found it very disheartening that majority of the posts were negative and downright hurtful!!! It would have been nice to at least see som CONSTRUCTIVE critisim going on and not just pure hate!!!

@ Miss Janet, you keep up the great work and keep striving, let no one stop your growth!!!

And I Really do want theat stripe outfit!!! lol

  15. Almost every day is a disappointment with the bombshells lately. I would rather see fierce street style and features..then this basic mess.

  16. I love the first (blue and aqua) off the shoulder dress. And the stripe set…… Cute

  17. Fly fashion is not about flaunting your body sis, Yes, I am from the east but live in LA, they like to wear their bodies not fashion out here. Poor things think this is how you get a man. They dead be the ones who are single. But some reason they can’t figure it out.

  18. Hold up, whoa there! Are we critiquing the person or the fashion? I’m reading comments about “getting a man” & her body image. Heck, she maybe married! And I think I saw a romper & a flowly blue dress even shots of her waist up but yet there seems to be comments focusing around one look. I come on here often & the get so down over the mean spirited comments made about the person that takes aways from their personal style. Well, I say that I commend anyone working independently in a tough business like fashion and if she found some success doing it, hopefully she continues & not allow the stabs to discourage her. And too, the most success people heard “no!” & “hated it” before becoming a success…if reframed, it fuels them to work harder.

  19. she looks appropriate but there wasnt anything special about her looks..the fit was the stripped skirt and top other thn that..BLAH!!

  20. the pieces are..okay. but she needs to accessorize more. w/o accessories the looks look unfinished and boring. great body tho!!

  21. Can people start sending in better photos please? no instagram magic, blurry silhouettes or unnecessary effects

  22. for All U negative haters. what kind of style do you have? can u design from scratch? Do u have courage to at least be creative &expressive? It appears this girl has it all(body, look creativity, style, passion, courage)
U go girl!!!!!!keep goin girl! You got it goin on! F***haters and judgemental people!

  23. Oh chile’ I think some are more mad that her body is banging in these dresses than anything! did somebody really suggest how she gets a man? really? and talking about she flaunting her body..um, dont see her a$$, boobs showing.

anywho….Janet your style is yours and your owning it in those dress, and you are a beautiful women!

  24. wow, everything she is wearin is her own original designs. I think that is awesome. im in my first year of design college (in LA) ALWAYS looking for inspiration. This chick did it for me. Sassy, sassy. i like the open back look. the contempary beige or cream dress looks like something i can see J-lo wearing at a premier…lol nice.

  25. ok so it appears that once again we as those who comment on this post are going in on her.I dont think anyone is hating on her as i have thought about past bombshells i just think people today are being honest…in a brutal fashion..lol..A lot of us who comment in fact work in the industry as well as those who submit so they know how it goes as we do…Nothing against her but she had one solid look and it was striped.I can speak for myself and say that i look forward to these posts as i find inspiration through all types of visuals and truthfully appreciate and obsess over fashion so seeing that quality in a submissions style would be amazing…I just often dont….When u put that ur from l.a. your already setting a very high standard today was a let down point blank period…just keeping it real tough crowd on this blog a lot of us know our ish

  26. Three words. White! Backless! Jersey!
I am scared of you! That looks like one difficult garment to wear. I wish I could see more of it.

  27. Her looks were cowl necks and spandex dresses. Im not THAT impressed for her to be a Fashion Bomb but I like her looks for just the cute factor.

And can we please chill with the “hater” comments. Not liking someone’s style is not hating. Its called having an opinion; which is what the persons that submit their entries subject themselves to & the purpose of the comment section.

  28. I love your style and your TONED body. Keep up the good work. Please don’t take the comments on here too serious. Lot of black women just can’t pay a compliment to a stylish woman to save their miserable life.

  29. DAYUMMM! Slow down low downs..True enough everyone has their own opinion, but can we at least give her props for having enough talent to get behind a sewing machine and create her designs. How many of you are sitting behind the computer in a piece you designed? Keep pushin Janet…

  30. No one is hating at all. If anything, Janet should just work on adding an assortmant of pieces to her closet, as in not just dresses.

  31. That striped piece was not doing it for me! Everyone wants to look extra-edgy until they go public and embarrass themselves.

  32. Wow I luv your style you look trendy and very stylish Glad your from L.A cause LA needs a serious makeover and you just gave it one. Dnt take all the negative comments to heart sum people just dont get certain things. Keep up the good work I look forward to seeing more of your work

  33. @Bronze, what does race have to do with anything? And why are we miserable because we dont share your fascination with her wardrobe? Please explain

  34. Love the dresses, poor quality of the picture is not helping and may be the cause of all the really negative comments. Disappointed on the 2 item shop. If you’re going to promote your brand, make sure you have the items available…. I was ready to purchase stripes, black, white and beige…
@BougieHippie: when you have a very curvy body (“+ size” with all the trimmings), most loose clothing dont flatter, and if you have a large bust, they can even give the impression you are pregnant/bigger.

  35. Beautiful girl with a beautiful shape. I wasn’t too impress with her looks but I do l like the printed top and long skirt.

  36. True, a lot of silhouettes are similar, but hey…if it ain’t broke, why fix it. She looks great. She has a great physique and I personally love the soft long dresses on her. I love the one shoulder dress, matched with the chosen accessories, it’s a do for me. I also like the pink/peach long dress and the last photo look…cute.

  37. i liked the white dress look the best. it looked great on your skin tone. I voted bombshell just because you have an an unusual style that’s not seen everyday but it doesn’t look like you try too hard. this just looks like your style and I think it’s cute. I wish the picture quality was a little better but these pics but i got a great vibe of how you like to dress from what you submitted.

  38. Nice looks but they all seem to be a variation of the same few styles, look great on her though so good for her.

  39. Hello! I was excited to have been selected as the FBOTD. When I saw my photos I was elated but that was soon thwarted by some comments that seemed personal. As the day progressed, I became more effected by the negative. I was increasingly getting down over comments by complete strangers. I realized that even though there’s a blurb that says ‘…comments can be harsh’, they don’t necessarily have to be but people choose to be. This site is my chance to experience & learn from like-minded individuals who know the biz & share. I get inspired, vote & never read the comments. When I submitted my 10 pics & bio, I didn’t expect a quick turnaround & I truly didn’t expect the personal digs. Yes, the further u go, more involved u r, the fashion industry can be brutal. and some chose to pass along the ugly side of it. At the end of the day, I was discouraged. If I felt that I would have to defend myself on a fashion blog I wouldn’t hav shared & THEN I would hav been a sissy. lol. This site is an outlet to express & share our love for the art w/those who ‘get it.’ I know my capabilities & how to pace myself & now that I hav been inaugurated as a FBOTD, I guess the hard part is either over OR just began. lol. Take good care & thank you all as this was an introspective experience. ~J

  41. 90 percent of the time, I’m in dresses, so I loved the maxi dresses. Didn’t look cheap to me, might have been the picture quality.

  42. okay so I was out yesterday. I like everything here except that little jean shrug jacket….burn that momma. I never say stuff like that i think it is appropriate….I have not read the comments yet. It doesnt go with the rest of the looks (too young/not grown up)…maybe it was a gift or clearance item. I have tons of stuff like this and hubby has to advise me all the time.:-)

I need that two piece striped outfit so I hope its in your store.

  43. Lovely girl, great figure, nice flattering silhouettes. The quality of the photos downgraded the quality of the looks. Kudos to her for the confidence to nominate herself as a bombshell.

  44. Some of you black women aint shit. Actually it’s you hating ass African American women. You stay trying to bring your fellow woman down. You don’t have to agree with her style but you don’t have to go out of your way to be mean. You all constantly prove the angry black woman stereotype right. I mean someone talked abt her tight clothes being a ploy to get a man. Really?? That’s why you’re mad?? Lol.. You’re pathetic. That’s why even your men are looking at other races. Y’all do the utmost..
