Today’s Bombshell is Courtney from North Carolina:

She says, “I’m an avid thrift shopper…”

“… and seamstress…”

“… so anything I find I can alter to fit my style.”

” I’m a big fan of florals…”

“… prints”

“… and “grandma inspired” style.”

” I love documenting my finds on my blog…”

“… [it’s called] Houston & Parsimony www.houstonandparsimony.blogspot.com. “

Ok! I like and appreciate your vintage pieces, and your ability to make them work with your wardrobe.

  1. Grrrrrllllll!!!!! You have taken me back to Porter, Okla. circa 1971. Wow…

Anyways. Your spirit just shines thru these photos. Love the photo w/the dog. So cool. Great style. Love your body.

  2. I actually love it. lol I love the vintage/thrifter look at she is very classy with it. Reminds me of Shug from the Color Purple.

I like the look with the patterened skirt and white top….the white/green blouse with the patterend shorts.

  3. These pics scream “THRIFTY!” & this is not a good thing. But if she likes it, I love it. #IllPass

  4. I love the taste and style of the photographs themselves. The background to your pics fit your style, and i think that’s a first for me here on FBD.

Also, you are a very pretty beautiful girl with no make up. But make up is part of fashion as well, so maybe you can try some fun make up styles to compliment your beauty and outfits.

    Blessings

  5. Yep, I like…she’s refreshingly different, plus pretty. Even though it’s not my style, I give her an A+ for great execution!

  6. @PapichuloHU I hate to say I agree. Sometimes you need to mix dated prints with something new. Like the print shorts would be cute with a high low tank. These look very thrifted. But she’s a cute girl and I love her background for the photos!

  7. @ Mamareese & @ PapichuloHU….

Took me a long time to figure out that if I don’t tailor the thrift finds to my body and sort of up date the look….I would look dated. So I completely agree that you have to mix old with new

  8. Just because you got your clothes from a thrift store doesn’t mean it has to scream it in every outfit. Work on tailoring your looks because you are such a cute girl!

  9. Not bad. I would have loved to see her polish up her look with some makeup though. The whole package is important.

  10. She is definitely a thrifter! Before I opened up this thread I could tell by all the vintage pieces. It’s cute but I wish she would mix with a few more modern touches.

  11. Beautiful girl. I agree with some of the posts here. I’m all #teamthrift and a lover of vintage but some of the pieces would be perfect if they were freshened up with something modern. She had some great thrifted pieces though. Will check out your blog! XO

  12. Ummm…..with all due respect!!! THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THAT SPEAKS “FASHION” BOMBSHELL WITH ANY OF HER PICS!!!!! I’m not a hater by far as I’m a avid fan of J. Lo’s (Love, Love, Love her) & Kim K’s style……but Ms. Courtney honey boo boo chile’…you need some serious styling tips! She’s a cute girl but the ONLY pic I felt was could possible somewhat make a fashion forward gesture was the one with the colorful shorts and that turban/wrap is doing too much. Her hair would have worked just being up in a playful bun. Shoes don’t work and if she wld’ve just put some nice multiple gold chain necklaces on, some nice gold large earrings or small earrings that looks like they are clip-ons, bold make-up and some pumps, peep toes or other flattering flats then this pic would’ve worked. No pun intended but most of those pics loos exactly like she’s from North Carolina as they appear to have a country style/element especially the one with the dog in the background. Just giving constructive criticism as I’m into the fashion industry and I say what it is and it is what I’m saying…JMHO!

  13. I appreciate your eye and your intention. Very lovely. Just a little bit of color on your lips would have changed EVERYTHING though. Tinted lip balms or sheer glosses are wonderful for natural beauties like you.

  14. i really love her style, it works for her, disappointed that she got a low bombshell percentage. keep doing ur thing boo!

  15. I love every look and my only criticism is the scarf – it really is not fashionable and does look like you are headed to bed. Other than that small critique, I think your style is lovely!

  16. I think your style is great. It’s unique and it fits YOU. You’re not “trying” to be different, which is nice!

Also, you’re gorgeous and I can’t wait to see how your style evolves!

    Definitely a fashion bombshell!

  17. Oh girl yes! I love it! People have to realize their is a difference between FASHION and STYLE. Maybe her style is not your tea but she definitely has STYLE, there is no denying that…

  18. who would want to look like a grandma? I see she is going for vintage look but she does frumpy grandma should streamline her style more i.e study more on say Solange Knowles

  19. Nah..I’m not feeling it, and I agree with lalala I dont get the aiming for grandma style?? Funny thing is…its not my steeze, but I do see the cohesiveness of what she is doing. It’s just cohesive in not such a good way IMHO

  20. @luvlyGoddess you’re in the fashion industry and lovlyGoddess is the best you came up with? Leave it simple or create a unique meaningful name…someone must have made you feel like the toiletbowl you probably look like. If you were so prestige you wouldn’t be on here posting SO DOWNFULL NEGATIVE COMMENTS AT SOMEONE.

Step your game up and get your dollars up and mostly get yourself up

    Her pictures were actually artful!

  21. At first I was like okay she’s different, maybe a bit dated. But then I thought about it and there’s lots of people from my country home town (near North Carolina) who dress like that because they can’t afford nice clothing. I don’t see this as stylish at all. Just random and cheap. Is this harsh? I don’t mean to be but this is definitely my least favorite bombshell. Also I have a german shepherd so seeing one on a chain in a yard just ruined it for me.

  23. I love her! this is something new to this site. something i have been waiting to see a boho/ 70’s inspired look. She definetly stand out beacause she isnt wearing the latest trends and calling it fashion!! i love it

  24. B o r i n g. However, I love the shorts in the 7th pic, they would have been much better with that top had they been a lil shorter.

  25. @LuvlyGoddess … my friend says you’re such a hater and she’d love to see what YOU look like! :L :P

  26. Beautiful girl, different style *thumbs up* you don’t have to look like a reality TV star to be fab. Get your granny on!
