Hot! She is indeed a beauty, with a sweet, chic style to boot. Might we have another Queen B on our hands?

  1. Bombshell indead! I love the glitter blazer, the green slacks and top, and when I saw the necklace with jeans and white top I just about died and went to heaven.

  2. the green pant outfit…..cute girl, well put together, just not my personal taste.
    but overall she worked it.

  3. please explain to mean what basic is? it’s always the same females screaming basic. This girl is anything but basic, this girl has style and would stand out in any crowd! Period!

  4. Pics got better towards the end. Definite BS.
The individual that wrote the commentary about Africa not being just veld and animals, now that’s just insulting. Anyone with just half a brain knows Africa has more going on than that.

  5. I was worried at first and almost didnt open this post but the pictures became nicer at the end, and were very stylish!

  6. @ggggiiirrl…the term “basic” was not used to be insulting..I spend alot of time NY and Ive seenmost her looks time and time again..yes they are fly but IMO basic…smH..always the same females screaming basic???Okay

  7. first couple pics were a bit blah-zay…the rest was def a bombshell. she’s a pretty girl, too.

  8. cute! Her style is very nice without being over-the-top. I think to some, wearable translates to “basic” but its just something the everyday FBD reader can be inspired by/ recreate. Nothing wrong with that :)

  9. Well Bonang is a celebrity(Dj, tv host, up and coming designer) and has a stylist, gets dressed by local designers so its no wonder she looks this good.

  10. I’m confused if someone submitted lala anthony’s or rosci diaz pictures for example would she be considered a bombshell?

  11. I almost died, I thought B! submitted her pics herself. She has great style. @ FYI, I am sorry but Bonang uses her team for award season not errday work. I am next * hides*

  12. Lol @Olwethu I almost died myself. Maybe Jeanie D, Minnie Dlamini or maybe Dineo Ranaka will be submitted by well meaning fans

  13. This year I started shooting Clash Of The Choirs SA and Top Billing, shot my first Destiny Magazine cover, was on the October cover of Elle Magazine, won a Glamour Award, was on the Forbe’s List, won a Feather Award, had my 1st tv production under my company BME (Bonang Matheba Entertainment) and bought myself a brand spanking new car, lol!
The statement above was taken from her website; Forbes, Elle and Glamour award very impressive!

  14. Love everything– except for the jean short outfit. Everything else is above par, she’s a bombshell. The green trouser ensemble is my favorite; it makes her look like Kerry Washington.

  15. OMG!!
the pic with green pants is my fav…for a minute there she looks like Kerry Washington
    Bananas!!! Amazing!!!

  16. There is no denying that she is a Bombshell, i just for some reason like to see a little representation of peoples roots in their style. i wanted to see a little bit of South Africa here. *only my opion*

  17. PLEASE TAKE BONANG DOWN!! She is an uber celebrity who has South Africa’s top designers on speed dial and she just wona Glamour Woman of the Year Award and countless style awards, presents hit shows and even her makeup artist and go to designer aren’t for regular folk. If Beyonce and co don’t count for bombshell of the day neither should Bonang it is not fair, I thought bombshell of the day was for regular women not women who have teams that make them look this good!!!

  18. @Mirage
Wouldn’t Bonang have to submit herself to be considered for a fashion bombshell????

  19. And PS some of the above pics are actually from a Glamour magazine article in which she has a monthly column entitled Bonang’s World detailing her favourite things of the month, style tips etc.

  20. She shouldn’t even be considered and we have had sisters, brothers and friends submit other for bombshell of the day before, my point is if we had Kelly Rowland or Solange or Lala or Rihanna submitted as bombshells would that be fair? Last time I checked bombshell wasn’t about celebrities we have hot or hmm, this week in chic, splurge for that.

  21. Hmmm. Before I even began to read the comments I was thinking how weird it was for someone to nominate a someone who is not their friend of family member for Fashion Bombshell of the Day. Like, do these people even know that their pics are being published here? Even in the past where people (other than Claire) have nominated well known bloggers as Bombshells– is kind of weird to me. I haven’t even gone to her site yet and it is clear that this young woman is very well known in the fashion industry in Africa. Nonetheless, I voted ok style. The pics definitely got better toward the end.

  22. if i were to guess i would say she styled herself in the first set and the rest were styled.. based on what claims are being made here. there is a big difference in the level of styling and even the quality of pictures..and still not enough africa

  23. She is simply chic! A beautiful lady who understands less is definitely more. And that black feathered mini dress looks amazing on her!

  24. I AGREE I DO NOT THINK THAT FAMOUS PEOPLE/ CELEBS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED IT DEFEATS THE PURPOSE, THEY HAVE ACCESS TO STYLISH, MAKE UP ARTIST AND ETC

  25. BOMBSHELL ARE FASHIONISTA IN THIER OWN RIGHT THEY DONT NEED THE HELP OF OTHERS/STYLIST TO DO SO

  26. people please, when you say not enough african , it shows your ignorance people from the southern african do not do the batik, java print whatever u wanna call them. You find that type of dressing in west and east africa. In you go to South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana people dress just like this with no so called african print in sight.. So please lets get educated, when it comes to Africa. SSShm The reason why its because of colonialism where for centuries africans were not allowed to embrace their culture and forced to dress like westerners. Hence the culture was lost. a little history for the ignorant among us

  27. Yey!!! Ur Grl B has got style mos definitely url beter recognize nd take note#Africa represent : )

  28. Claire how do u send pics to you to be considered as a fashionbombshell, would like to submitt my pics. thanks

  29. Its great to see someone representing my hometown! But, I must agree that I would have loved to have seen just an ordinary girl representing too!! We have crazy style.. Don’t underestimate :)

  30. Hey! So I didn’t know Bonang was a celebrity in South Africa when I received the submission, and I was initially under the impression Chazzy was her friend, so went with it. As indicated at the bottom of each post, the Bombshell of the Day is simply representative of the style of readers, so I don’t see why celebs are exempt. It really is just a showcase of style from around the globe, and Bonang fits the bill. Thanks!

  31. Wooow! I’m so proud of the home girl! good going B*. She’s a talent TV presenter, one of the best if not the best in the country!

  32. @African lady, i too am african. And its funny because all the countries you’ve mentioned i have been to. I was born in Malawi, went to primary school there, secondary school and university in Botswana at UB, took pleanty of trips to Joburg and Zimbabwe, been to Mozambique etc. So i am not in any shape way or form ignorant about the fashion culture of Africa below the equator. There was no offense intended when i said not enough africa. its simply an observation on my part. in my travels i have noted that every region has its own vibe its own thing. i live in the states now and its very easy for me to tell the difference in a person thats from the south versus from the east cost or the west cosy. its in the way they dress they incorporate a bit of where they come from. So when it comes to prints batswana do wear prints borrowed from German print fabric, called leteise. Zimbabwe and Malawi.. head wraps and printed wrap arounds we call it in my language “chitenje”.. but the general thread that runs through Africa is infact color full print, beads….i mean the list goes on. There are many african designers and many real life women that manage to marry tradional attire and western fashion, they can and do coexist beautifully. Blaming colonization for not embracing our culture today is in itself ignorant. we are no longer colonized and the fact that you are getting offended because i have simply noted the lack of traditional influence in this young ladys fashion choices tells me you are still in colonized state of mine.

    Anywho back to fashion.

  33. @smv….she doesn’t have to wear african prints tho just because she’s african. She’s not obliged. And that doesn’t make her (or anybody) less of a bombshell (unless it was an african fashion site).

  34. I was yawning until I saw the black dress. WOW! Excellent. Not that the first outfits were bad but most people can put those looks together. Pretty girl too.

  35. @smav its late but got to point out a few facts i am from zimbabwe so i know what i am taking about. I am well travelled myself too. In fact was just in zim/ S.A this January. Yes people in the southern parts of Africa where head wraps as a symbol of humility to funerals, church not as a fashion statement the way its done in the east or west Africa. The head wraps and the scarves chitenges are not as colorful as the ones in East or west Africa because they were not meant as a fashion piece but to cover your self up. When i mentioned Colonialism is a fact and its part of our history to explain why some African country seem more westernized than most. If you are going to be honest especially from malawi if you are a young girl do you wear african prints going on a date or you rock your jeans and tees. If u tell me otherwise u are lying especially from the Southern africa. When i went back to zim, S.A i have noticed that people are going back to the african print because its fashionable right now but that has never been so traditionally. So before u spew ignorance about not african enough, you really need to visit South Africa. Go to Joburg or soweto or even visit zimbabwe. By the way mental colonialsm still exist ;Read your books girl. U you have been in the States for too long and now trying to put everybody in a box the way hollywood wants you too.

  36. I love her versatility! She can be casual and also very chic! I also love her necklaces! I could definitely use some assistance in the accessories department!
