We’re taking a break from our Met Gala roundup to feature today’s Bombshell, Beeba from London:

She writes, “I am Nigerian but I live in London…”

“I own a fashion blog called beebaswardrobe.blogspot.com and a YouTube
channel – http://www.youtube.com/user/thebeebanetwork?feature=mhee

“My style is very free, I dress according to how I feel…I love a lot of shapes and colors and lots of vintage blazers and dresses.”

“My style icon is Marilyn Monroe. When i get married I’ll probably wear pencil dresses everyday and vintage girdles with a pin up style.”

“My style isn’t the same everyday but I will always opt for something really classic.”

Hey Beeba! I love what you sent in, but would have liked to see more. Your green blazer and patterned top was my favorite ensemble; wish we could’ve seen the head to toe look.
What do you think?

  1. It’s ok. Can’t say I am in love with her style. But it is her style so that’s all that matters.

  2. She isn’t a bad dresser, she just hasn’t learned what textures mix well with certain outfits For example, the yellow jacket and dress combo would have looked better if you paired it with a longer dress and brighter shoes. The Rihanna t shirt look would have looked better with a different denim and a better bag. If Marilyn Monroe is your Icon, you may want to get a few books and figure out her style, because I didn’t get a feel of old Hollywood.

  3. I just wish the picture quality was better and we saw head-to-toe looks. But based on what I saw it was really hard to judge. I don’t think it’s bad though.

  4. Oh, and lastly, some of these bombshells need to realize that your hair can make or break a look. If you hair is not on point it throws everything else off. Conversely, if your hair is laid, it can elevate a very basic outfit. Invest in your hair ladies (time and/or money)! Stop with the bad wigs and weaves!

  5. Why was the Marilyn Monroe brought up? There is nothing going on that’s a reflection of Marilyn’s style… Po baby,it sounded cool though.

  6. she needs to be more polished with the hair and makeup. maybe play up her eyes to play down her nose and try and again with that hair.

  7. Not feeling the hair .. Her style is so so, if her fashion icon is marilyn monroe id like to see more of an old hollywood look, maybe some pin curls, red lips, and more vintage pieces. Old hollywood is classic, and this just doesn’t look classic to me

  8. She needs to seriously work on her hair and make-up. There is something unclean about her looks. And she actually doesn’t have any particular style. She just throws what she thinks is cool and stylish on her body, which doesn’t make her a fashion bomb, only a random girl who kinda likes fashion…And that messy room pic…come on now!

  9. Lastly, I had a feeling Lala, Kim K, Rihanna are her icons more than Marilyn Monroe. Nothing says old hollywood glamour about her style…but yes it sounded cool…:)

  10. Beeba, take the criticisms with a grain of salt, find what makes Beeba “Beeba” and then come back&resubmit yourself. I would love to see your growth.

  11. Alison DiLaurentis
Oh hell naw bish, you did not just call her “unclean.” You tried it bish, you really did. Some of you should be very grateful that the internet provides an avenue for you to taunt people anonymously. In real life, that ass would have been whopped if you made a reckless comment like that. SMH

  12. She def has a flare and there are some cute pieces in her wardrobe…
I have to agree that the hair and make-up def makes or breaks a look.

  13. Completely agree with @lola. “unclean” was not the right word. I think you meant “unpolished” and even if that’s not what you initially intended, its what you SHOULD have meant. I completely agree with those talking about her hair….I know some black girls want to do the “messy bedhead look” but with our hair (natural, permed, weave, wig) it VERY easily can look unkempt and become a major distractor.

That being said, I liked some of her pieces and loved very few. I believe she is almost there in terms of completing her overall style. Which I like because, I too am evolving and revamping my style

  14. Please work on your hair and makeup. I didn’t bother reading what everyone else said, but I feel like you need to try to get a little more polished. I don’t see any Ms. Monroe in your looks.

  15. This @blkrose always coming here to give epistles on people’s style though! Lol! Are you a fashion commentator or what are you?! Please since youre such a fashion maven, can you send in a submission. I’d love to see your style. Lmao! These broads, I swear….

  16. And @alison, in the entire English lexicon, ‘unclean’ was the only word you could find for her? Some of you on here though! Smh..

  17. I like the Rihanna shirt, skinny jeans look. Understated and sexy. Style wise my African sister needs to work on distinguishing herself from the masses, but you know I do, ALILILILILILILILILILILILILI!!! NAIJA STAND UP.

  18. I agree with most of the constructive criticism. No one commented on her awesome long legs. Resubmit, Beeba, just as suggested. I feel like you’re almost there.

  19. I think all has been said, except no one commented on her awesome long legs. Re-submit, Beeba, just as suggested. I feel like you’re almost there.

  20. She aight, nothing special. I just want to know what it it’s she’s looking at on the ground…

  21. smh @ some of you busted weave-wearing heauxs giving hair advice. I can’t. Claire should close comments on fashion bombs. I can’t with some of these comments.

  22. Wait! What is wrong with her weave? It looks nice and great for everyday looks.Do you want her to rock Marlo Hampton type weaves everyday??Are you guys kidding me?

  23. Yeah I cosign with the remarks regarding @BlkRose … You need a Flickr/ photobucket/ blog whatever to show your everyday look and sense of fasion. You talk a lot of nonsense on 98.5% of these FB post, privileging your anonymity. It’s like your Oxygen is clicking on FB DAILY to criticize someone’s sense of style. If she posted 30 pictures that will still tell you nothing concerning her sense of style, because fashion evolves every day. Thus… please RELAX!!! I have no issues with critiquing but you my Dear abuse that privilege far too often. Love, no one is tuning in to say, “Hey I wonder how @BlkRose feels about this” … I am pretty sure it’s more so ::Scrolling:: “ @BlkRose Sigh Here This Bish Goes Again *sideeye*” ::continuesScrolling::

  24. ok im dead and buried from the comments in here today.

‘unclean’. ‘meh’. ‘what am i looking at’. ‘blah’. ‘unpolished’.

Beeba needs to quit the whole ‘“I am Nigerian but I live in London…” shtick because that would imply at some point you intend to go back to london but i doubt you do eh, Beeba?

I’m going to be constructive for her, so ill say; invest in some makeup lessons at selfridges at the mac counter. Tidy your room. Have a good look through Grazia and then go to a flea market and try and cultivate a style that is interesting, but your own. I look forward to seeing her resubmit…

  25. ps im still lolling @ ‘unclean’. *stomach cramps from giggles*

  26. you look okay Beeba, but there’s nothing OOMPH about your style.. its so flat.. pencil skirts, high waisted skirts, blouses, bold heels, gold/brown jewelry and bold statement colours could enhance your marilyn monroe choice of style, also the curly hair with the red lips and deep eyeliner wings.. your outfits here meet the wear for the occasion type day.. i agree with the not enough pics comment. I do rate your confidence however..

  27. yellow blazer could have been paired with a cream blouse, gold neck piece, blue pencil skirt and a nice clutch..
