  1. Aww, man where do I begin?! I didn’t think it could get worse until I hit that last pic. What is that debauchery on her head and is it thing to not wear shoes in S.Africa in public? Someone, please come get their aunt.

  2. She has a strong sense of style. I respect someone who can hone in on a certain aesthetic. However, I don’t care for. She can be so much more lively.

  3. Lol @loulou…she is representing FortGreene quiet well.

Knee length is her best length. Please stick with that.

  4. I just came in to the view the comments and they lived up to my expectations. She’s a cute girl but her style is very mature in my opinion.

  5. Her style does age her a bit. Well, I do like the polka dot outfit. I’d wear it if the skirt was knee length.

  6. Hmm….She has potential. I appreciate her interest in the vintage style, but think there are plenty of ways for her to forward that. I’d like to see her up her accessory and shoe game. The first look was a bit too matronly with the wide silhouette of the dress, vintage blazer and shoes. I think the key to mastering the vintage style in 2014 (or in the last 5 years really) is to make sure there are some modern elements incorporated (i.e. silhouette, color trends, accessories, etc…) so that you don’t look dated.

She should really browse through a few magazines or her favorite vintage style blogger to learn more about the style and then fuse that with her own to grow. I loved the printed sweater + skirt combination. Mixing prints isn’t for everyone b/c everyone isn’t good at it, but that was nice.

  7. MARQUAYSA got it right. With vintage you have to mix the old with the new. Don’t know her age but she’s adding at least 10 years to it with these outfits.

  8. @ Bar, that is exactly what I was thinking, she looks so full of innocence in her photos.

While I would not consider her a bombshell, I think her style is fine for a college student.

  9. I am not a fan of her style but some of y’all are so ignorant! If you live in a college town or went to college, you are sure to spot some students who walk barefoot a couple of times in a month to raise awareness to plight of kids in poor countries who walk for miles without shoes.
Some people have adopted a shoeless lifestyle ..So when you see someone without shoesss, just ask dont you spew your ignorance shamelessly.
Nama wore shoes in the other pictures so that should have been a clue that she is barefoot by choice.
    I dont even know her.

  10. She’s too short and stout to cover up so much; pic 3 & 7 are my fav. I need a denim jacket like that in my life.

  11. She absolutely is NOT repping Ft. Greene… At least not those of us who are fashionable. There is way to be boheme, grunge, or artsy but this is not it i fear. She’s a cutie pie though and I hope she will grow into her style

  12. She’s sooo cute. Grahamstown is a tiny town in South Africa with hardly any proper shops for shopping. I commend her for puttng her outfits together on her lil student budget.

  13. She needs to learn about clothing proportions. Something big and free flowing on the bottom shouldn’t really be on the top.

  14. I feel that everyone that made a negative comments needs to get a life. If she was of a slimmer body size every comment would be positive.

  15. Cute girl.

Some things I liked. Some things I did not. My favorite would be the black and white polka dots mixed together.

Claire, could you please change “Not a Bombshell…but her style is ok” to “Not a Bombshell…but her style is good?” It just comes off a little bit harsher than what’s intended in my opinion.

  16. I thought the barefoot pic was cute. I’ve never seen it done here. So I though that was “fashion forward” of her. ( And this is coming from someone who detest feet)
