  1. Confidence is nice and prints do her justice, but the crop top high waist trend has given too many plus sized women a false sense of hidden belly.

  2. What an eye for fashion. I love the shapes, colors, and play on proportions. I love how your hair is used as an accessory. No detail is left out. Fashionbombshell in my book!!!

  3. Now this is what you call “FASHION BOMBSHELL”… YES YES && YES!!!! I loved every single look… you work it girl and your beautiful women!! LOVE LOVE LOVE <3

  4. I love her! @Southern I agree to an extent, but I do embrace this trend it compliments and allows more curvy women to show their beautiful figures and true waist lines.

  5. Yeeessss!!!! I follow her on IG and I love her sense of style.

She exudes confidence which can be offensive to some (now that deserves a side-eye. Just because you’re not a size double zero that you have no right to be sexy and confident and slay everytime you step out the door.

On another note, if you want to use a person physical make up as justification, smaller sized women don’t look right in everything either….IJS.

However, if you’re confident, it doesn’t matter!!

  6. @Annoymus

Smh…hold up, I’m going to look for your entry and give an opinion.

    Dammit, couldn’t find it.

    Rock on Ivory!!!

  7. I really wanted to like this submission, but her style is one-note, and some of the pieces are questionable, in particular the baring of the midriff. I really do love your hair and the green printed jumpsuit.

  8. Lovely!….Now THIS is how one should dress for one’s size. So many of the plus sized “bombshells” featured here just get it all wrong and I’m being kind. I’m a firm believer that no matter what your size is, you should accentuate your positives and draw attention Away From your flaws (if you have any…I know I do).

    I say well done Ivory!

  9. Something to be said about a person’s perception of themselves in contrast to others perceptions. I often carry guilt. that I say what others are thinking. I treat people like I want to be treated. If I am looking crazy please tell me.

  10. One more thing, I agree a woman should “Wear what she loves”, but she also “wears what loves her back”. She is clearly strong and confident, I would encourage you to use that same confidence and headstrong attitude to be mindful of what you put in your month. Cut out breads and refines food. Try working out, I recommend strength training so you can look appealing in those sleeveless numbers. Good Luck!

  11. Just because you may not like her body shape, doesn’t mean that others won’t either. Also we are judging her style, if you don’t like it say so. She’s not on here asking for dieting tips….I for one think she looks great in her clothes. Love the style, bombshell.

  12. I agree with thefashionistachic. I don’t understand people today, confidence and self love DOES not mean that you can wear things that are not appropriate for your body. This goes for small, medium and large. Just because they make it in your size doesn’t mean that it suits you. These pics look okay, but that is because she used poses that would hide her “curves”, in real life, I am sure that these looks don’t translate as smooth and streamlined as they do here. I wouldn’t be impressed with her style in person.

  13. Self-love, y’all. There’s too much hate, shade and too many unsolicited fitness/dieting opinions in these comments. If Ivory loves it, and she looks good in the things that she wears, why does it bother any of you “fashion critics”?? Leave it to a bobblehead to get mad when one of plus-sized crew actually feels good about themselves and is proud enough to show it off…. Get over yourselves, please.

  14. Thank you all for compliments and encouraging comments!!!

I know that it’s difficult to understand that a woman who’s not a size 4 can actually love her body and wear anything she wants (regardless of opinions), but your ignorance is welcome. My job is done because you’re looking and most likely will continue to do so.
Oh and SR? This IS my body; I’m obviously not hiding my wonderful curves or standing in positions that make my body more appealing in pictures. My body IS appealing, in person or in pics. I don’t expect you to get it; all that matters is that I do. Have a great rest of the day!

  15. I voted BOMBSHELL, because I love EVERYTHING you got on and how you paired it all together. I especially love the beautiful violet dress with the cleopatra-inspired necklace.

Your hair and makeup are MAJOR PLUSES. You’re a big girl that is damn sexy, but not sluttish. LOVE IT!! Much praise and I am bowing down to you right now! LOL!!

  16. I see no flaws here.
She killed every single look, and not a single one was basic. Everything is playful, provocative, and still very classy.

One of the best Bombshells in a very long time. And the skin is divine!

  17. There’s nothing appealing about obesity, no matter how you slice it. If you spent as much time being concerned about your diet as you did your fashion choices you’d be in good shape. Todays society has given people a distorted sense of self. You have great style on a budget sense but wearing things that are obviously stretching the limits of where they should go is not a good thing. If I have a problem area do something about it and don’t pretend that puesdo self confidence will cover it up. I started not to comment but you put yourself out there and then decided to get defensive instead of repsonding with grace regardless of the differences of opinion. You’ve gotta have tough skin. Based on your comments you seem like one of those large girls who get defensive when people call you out instead of looking at it as constructive criticism. No you dont have to be a size 4 but if you’re overweight, which you are don’t highlight those points. Why are people so defensive when they have a problem. You can still lose weight and be stylish? that’s not a crime either….and please STOP calling fat rolls curves

  18. You guys are out of line with the weight comments. So rude and disrespectful. This post was about the young lady outfit choices. Do you like it yes, no, maybe so. Yall need to get another life… PRONTO!!

  19. PrettyinBlack: No one is defensive, nor am I insulted. Given the fact that you choose to comment on my weight rather than my actual style says that you either can’t read or you’re just upset. Either way, I feel for you. My confidence is not pseudo; it actually speaks volumes. I’m very much looking forward to your Bombshell submission. It’s usually the person that has the most to say, that has nothing to show. Take care and keep giving that pseudo advice :-)

  20. I like the choice of prints and how they were worn. She is indeed very confident I admire that. Her weight though is another thing… Also chin up and show some neck, you’d look better.

  21. i agree with preetyin black ,ivory you preety but like someone said instead of putting so much energy in this fake confidence then have reall confidence to go to the gym and lose some weight to wear some of these pieces shhhh , dont eating burgers and go to the damn gym. so sick of these fat women spending so much money on ill fitting clothes instead of investing in themselves and go to the gym. real talk this is not attratractive. lie to yourself all you weight.

  22. I love your looks and style–fun, sexy, and unique…great submission, and I’m loving your blog!!

Also, can those of you exhausting everyone with the weight loss public service announcements please have a seat and worry about your own lives.

  23. i never realized how hard people could be on bigger women until i started coming on this site. some of you sound so hateful. telling people to put down the burger and stop calling rolls curves… do you hear yourselves?? i don’t even see any rolls!! she shows a smidge of skin right under the chest and well above her belly.. some of you are disgusting.

as for the entry, i voted bombshell. i toyed with voting cute girl, ok style, but i thought this was well above okay. i wish their was more complexity and i would have loved to see your hair styled differently for some of the looks. other than that, very beautiful!

  24. you faux Jillian Michaels folks kill me. You never know where someone is at in their fitness/health journey. For all we know, Ivory could have just lost 100 pounds! Is she not supposed to dress for the body she has now? Is she supposed to wear a burlap sack until she gets the body YOU thinks SHE should have? Mind your f*cking business and comment on the damn clothes.
NEWSFLASH: big girls know they’re big! And many of then are working on being unbig!! In the meantime, they have every right to be fly; fat and fly are not mutually exclusive!

  25. Bombshell!! Everything, minus the purple outfit, is amazing and I would definitely wear it ALL! I honestly wish I had every piece to every unit, including the hair and makeup lol. I am not here to judge you on your weight, only your fashion, and hunny you KILLED it! Kudos sweetheart, you can give us smaller women a run for our money, no doubt!

  26. Yass Ms Ivory! Werrrrk! I looove your style. It looks so effortless yet very chic! Love it! Keep up the good work!

  27. I’ll tell you what…

I’m a fluffy size 8/10. Just reached out to a new trainer today. But if she is able to pull off the two piece looks successfully, it gives me hope… Bombshell.

  28. I do like the prints but no one sees some of those tube tops as ill fitted? Kudos to confidence but even smaller women cannot get away with wearing “whatever” My other question is where are you going? Honestly all I could see in this submission was the womens chesticles.

  29. @Ivory

You have every right to be defensive when someone is being rude to you, as these commenters giving dieting advice are. FOOH with the idea that you have to be polite when semi-literate A-holes insult you and can’t stay on topic. Your style and your replies to these idiots who can’t tell the difference between a fashion and a BMI blog were great!

  30. I never comment on websites, but I had to speak on this. As others have said this is a FASHION blog, so how the hell did we get to commenting on Ivory’s size? Either you’re feeling her style or you aren’t. No one asked for diet advice. Yes, she put herself out there but that was for her style to be judged, not her body. As for the comments about working out, how do you know she doesn’t? It’s crazy to me how people are always trying to tell plus-sized women all their focus should be on changing their body instead of dressing the one they have well. I love the fit, color, and print on the outfits and I’d love it no matter what size body it was on. Work it the F out, Ivory.

  31. Bombshell.com !!! She did her thing there is no denying that… Ugh some of you can be so silly and simple minded its ridiculous… I cannot stand the Internet for this reason alone. There are way too many people hiding behind computer screens and keyboards these days. Don’t worry hun you are beautiful and confident and it doesn’t hurt that you can dress your arse off lol. And I am in agreeance with you about those who have the most to say but lack a fashion bomb submission, I have said this previously but it’s obvious there are only a few who are really about that life lol. Keep doing you!!

  32. Bright. Colorful. Pretty. Great accessories. Shoe game is on point! Love the bright lip. But I’m with @bebe – the crop tops are making me nervous too. Though that little peek a boo in look #3 is super sexy. Do it!

  33. I voted Bombshell, I’m loving her looks, the wide leg pants and the red & white printed dress were my favs.
She is plus size but the fit of her clothes are spot on and I didn’t see a tummy bulge or rolls of fat, nothing is spilling over so I don’t understand what people are talking about. She obviously have done what most of you guys on her scream about she invested in great underwear/shapewear.

  34. I think “cupcakes & gingerale” summed it up well. Mind you, there are laughs to be had in these comments all the time, if only for egregious typos and spelling mistakes that come with all the health advice.

Now, as to Ivory, it would have been nice to see the initial submission to discuss the evolution of her style. It’s hard for me to get into the strapless top issue because I think it’s challenging for any body type to wear, let alone someone who is so well, umm, well-endowed :)

Some of the crop/bra top comments, while in need of tact, have an element of truth when it comes to fit. For example, a bit of graphic design love was used on the white bra top and I can only imagine it was due to an inevitable wardrobe malfunction. Perhaps stick with tops that have less “give.” Your red and white bra top is a good example of the type of fabric and construction that will hold your upper body shape best. Ditto on the piece paired with the black and white skirt.

Fav Fit: Jumpsuits (both of them) And, Ivory, your hair is maddeningly gorgeous.

  35. I most likely should’ve mentioned that all looks are from this summer, June-the end of August. If you can’t tell, my summer was amazing; full of travel, sun and friends. The crops/scarves tied as tops were a staple and are almost a signature. When it’s 90+ degrees, I don’t care to switch it up, I’m just trying to keep cool. Thank you again for the love and voting strictly for what this is: Style.

  36. @Neosoulsista says ” My other question is where are you going? She lives in LOS ANGELES. Women in that city can get away with wearing certain types of clothes that many can’t in other cities without being harassed to death.

A miniskirt with a crop top and high heels is REGULAR WEAR over there whether you have the body or not. Fortunately, this girl’s body is FINE. She’s in proportion and dresses according to her shape. I’m a big breasted woman myself and wouldn’t DARE wear the crop/tube tops in the street, because I’m not that confident. I would always feel one of these knucklehead teens would run by and try to pull it down or something.

She IS a bombshell though. Loved all of her outfits.

  37. She has a fun, colorful style that is only enhanced by her big hair, bright lips and womanly curves. Seems like its too much for some folks! I couldn’t pull off but she’s working it and I’m loving it.

  38. @Janice. I hear you. I can barely walk down the street in skinny jeans and a t-shirt without being harassed.

  39. @IvoryJ I absolutely love your style, and though your style seems to have a theme a lot of staple fashion icons have always stuck to what they like. Heck Tina Turner just got married in the same style and cut dress she’s always worn. Madonna has been wearing Lace Dolce and Gabbana dresses for years. They stayed true to themselves and I think you’re doing the same. You dont look uncomfortable and your clothes aren’t ill fitting. Your make up choice and color palettes or on point. Rock on Sister……these crows cant ever be pleased……

  40. @Ivory See I totally get that these looks were from the summer, isn’t fahion about moments in time? FASHION BOMB all the way

  41. i used to be overweight and always had a passion for clothes. When I lost weight I was more sexy and appealing in my midriffs. Let us be honest here, fat only looks good if you are a toddler

  42. Ivory is a fashion maven who is not afraid to use her freedom to dress the way she wants to. Knowing her and how conscious she is about how she looks, I know what she puts into making sure she is always true to herself.

The negative comments are not shocking but I find it awfully ridiculous to display body hate towards another while not being willing to put yourself on the same display. Self love doesn’t have conditions and I feel sorry for those that took time away from being happy in their lives to bash another woman. Thanks for giving Ivory that energy. Goddess

  43. I find it comical that do many faux-dieticians fishing iut advice think they know exactly what a person eats basedon some pictures. since she’s African American, I’m surprised some of you didn’t go as far as to tell her to put down the fried chicken and the kool-aid. Yeah, that’s hiw dumb you sound trying to police the eating habits of a stranger you know nothing about. As far as the false confidence you speak of, what makes it false? Is it your highly inaccurate belief that anyone who is heavy, no fuck it, FAT, would dare to be comfortable in their oen skin? Are you just shocked and appaled that this woman isn’t going out of her way to hate her body and hide it in shame like it is expected? Thirdly, someone spoke about her on a budget fashion sense. One close look of her shoes will tell you they’re all designer. I’m betting if any of the negative people on this thread saw this woman out in real life you’d compliment her in some way and also wonder to yourself what it must be like to be so fabulous. So kindly fudge right off and take your shade somewhere else.

  44. FINALLY, I see a bombshell that inspires me! They have been few and far in between but Ivory murked it. Those print combos are what I’ve been aspiring to.

I get that ppl should wear clothes for their specifc shape, but this debate has gotten out of hand. Im a size 2,and Ivory’s choices are still giving me life; a fashion bombshell is a fashion bombshell.
