You know we couldn’t kick off 2011 without showing love to our Male Readers!
Our first Fashion Bomber of the Day is Kevin from London:

A longtime Fashion Bomb reader, Kevin says, “I’ve always wanted to send in pictures, but didn’t really find the courage to do so…”

“…But since it’s a New Year I thought I should send in a few of my pics and show your readers my style (representing England!)…”

“I run a men’s fashion blog www.kevykevysoulexperience.blogspot.com….”

“…and I’m on twitter @kevykevykelvin.”
Ah, Kevin. Glad you finally sent in some flix! I love how you mix dressy and casual elements to create your own style. Your look totally represents ‘urban fashion’ to me.

What do you ladies think?

*I decided to swap out one picture for another, as I felt it was taking away from a true assessment of Kevin’s style. If you’re dying to see the original pic, click here.

Fashion Bomber of the Day is a feature that showcases the singular style of Fashion Bomb Readers. Send your name, location, a description of your style, and your picture(s) to th************@gm***.com.

  1. Lmao @ Antionette.. Other than that he’s pretty hot. I like the mix of casual and structured pieces plus that man clevage …yikes!

  2. Let me stop lol, his style is okay. Although I think a polished look would be more appealing on him.

  3. Whoops. I was so distracted by his style, I didn’t even notice the bag. And that is a pretty blatant rip off. Eek! I almost wish I could switch out that picture for another, but the damage is done….

  4. His style is nice, but I can do without the Kanye-inspired man cleavage and the knock off Louis bag. He could have at least gotten one with LV’s on it, jeez.

  5. @t5000 I updated the post at the bottom and included a comment that explains why you don’t see the bag. I also included a link to the bag if you’d like to see it.

  6. @ Claire thanks now i see. its not that big of a deal, maybe thats what the guy could afford. doesn’t take away from his great sense of style.

  7. i mean he’s ok ..i didnt even notice the bag ,,but that shouldnt take away from his style ,,,,that could be something totally different. it dont even have the LV’s on it. so how is that a fake LV bag.. yall need to stop ..claire you to.. now when yall need to go in on the fashion bomer yall dont ,,instead of taken the photo down you should have got on every one for focusing on the bag and not this young mans style,, if that bag is a part of his style then thats what it is ,,,fake or not ,,,claire im suprised at you ..

  8. @Lala
I took the bag down because I didn’t want to conflate ‘urban fashion’ with wearing fake designer bags. Keeping the picture up would have been synonymous with endorsing rip offs, which is an industry wide problem. If you want to focus on the bag or if anyone else does, they can…you can click on the pic and get an eyeful. But the pic won’t stay published as such on my site. Thx!

  9. Ok since the bag was so distracting, I swapped it out for another.

Keeping the picture up would have been synonymous with endorsing rip offs, which is an industry wide problem

Whoops. I was so distracted by his style, I didn’t even notice the bag. And that is a pretty blatant rip off. Eek! I almost wish I could switch out that picture for another, but the damage is done….

these are your words need i say more ,,,NO ,,,,claire please ….again i am suprised at you.

  10. It’s so funny when the females have designer hand bags that are real they are not fashionable because it’s designer stuff..people trash them to no end and now cleary that bag is fake and people is pointing it out because it’s LV inspired it’s a problem it’s what he has he’s fashionable…his style is ok but if the bag is inspired people will comment it does not take away from his style

  11. @lala- umm, this is CLAIRE’S website and she can put anything she wants to up. i agree with her, lauding counterfeit designer clothing on an urban website is not a good look and makes everybody look bad. and if you can acknowledge that this fake bag is part of his style then WHY wouldn’t people comment on it? hello! you’re not making sense.

anyway, i think overall his style is pretty chic, without seeing that bag. he’s a good looking guy and should probably leave the bag at home because it devalues his look.

  12. Im guessing opinions and facts are only reserve for the bombshell of the day posts.. because i have seen posts with ladies and the snide comments about their bags and their fashion getting over looked because they are wearing designer labels…myself saying the bag is distracting does not take away from his style

  13. @ esme ,,,your right .. this is claires site ..THATS WHY I WAS TALKING TO HER,, NOT YOU ,, but you can say what you want dont matter to me ,,,any who,,,im not acknowledging a fake bag cause who to say its a fake bag ,,again if it had the LV on it then maybe,, but not even then,, who are yall to say this mans bag is fake,,,yall real wack for that,,and i dont care if the world comment on his bag i never said yall shouldnt every one knows im all for say what you want ,,,so comment on ,,,WE NOT GONNA START THAT @LALA BUSINESS TODAY ..i did not say any thing negative today so now what is the problem…leave me alone…i can say what i want….

  14. gotta 2nd L here, i think his style is fresh, but i will never be a fan of man cleavage. go kevin!

p.s. i love claire. she’s hilarious to me in a very blunt way. that’s all.

  15. moving right along… the brother has GREAT style! I love the way he mixes things, the completely casual with a bit pf prep along with a little deconstructed… it all comes together well.

I could give a damn about the bag as I didn’t even see it, I was concentrating on his style. keep up the good work!

  16. HIS STYLE IS HOT! GOES VERY WELL WITH HIS BODY BUILD but for the fake bag how could you tell since i was not able to c this pic?. and if it is a recession who really wants to spend 1,000 on a bag! what even more funny is when it goes on sale its like 20 dollars off! some of these designer prices are INHUMAN for regular folks i hope one day to start my own line that brings designer styles at affordable prices but over all great bomber choice

  17. and also what if he didn’t know it was fake? a lot of seller would say anything to make a quick buck?

  18. It’s a bag folks not a kidney, sense of priorities here…. anyway compared to the saggy pants, backwards caps, 10 sizes too large shirts, dirty sneakers I see everyday on the streets, or the skinny jeans(lawd give me strength) I love his looks. Man cleavage or no man cleavage I am sure we would prefer someone looking like him and not Wacka Flocka hitting on us:)

  19. @ anaiya..How can anyone not know that bag is a fake….i mean seriously? UInmless you dont know anything about fashion, even a blind man can tell…lol

    Anywho, i like his style…

  20. Thank y’all for the comments, yes the bag is an imitation louis vuitton , they is no way im going to pay £1200 for an original i just cant afford it, i try to take bits and pieces of what I like and incorporate them into my outfit and in this case it was this bag, A FAKE LV will have a fake lv logos which is not the case here.

  21. @brooke nice use of sarcasm -__- @kev keep doing you man your style is on point!at the end of the day if you know what your style is thats all that matters and also where did u get those boots from?

  22. I like his style i see nothing wrong with his “imitation” though, I don’t think he was trying to pass it off as an lv. To me its not too far from buying a shoe thats inspired by a certain designers look so u buy that shoe because that is what you can afford.

  23. @ just sayin your a corn ball all these post up here and u choose to say something to me ok my #1 fan I miss you to …this is what it comes to mis dirty mouth if I’m negative then so r u. Why would she delete me cause I hav an opinion and u don’t like it soooooooooo what your a nobody your an exfactor stop it already and enough with the alter ego that’s the only thing u can say which is wonk wonk wonk cause anything else u say is garbage

stop coming for me its no need sweet heart u gotta come better or don’t come at all …as I lmao at u your a joke ..put a. D*CK in ya mouth then u STFU. Sorry claire just sayin ask for that

  24. I’m not feeling it. I hate when guys sag their pants, and I’m not a fan of men in v-necks.

  25. @lala- maybe you should try not to post on a public board if you want to have a private conversation. and my point still stands: if even you can acknowledge that the bag is part of his style, then why should people refrain from commenting on it? try and make sense from now on, okay?

@kevykevykelvin- i don’t think there’s anything wrong with taking inspiration from designer items or the runway, but when something is such a blatant counterfeit or knockoff of a designer logo or motif, it just cheapens your entire look. overall you have good style, but that bag is not a good look.

  26. Ok to the ignorant it is a VERY obvious ripoff and claire being the respectable fashion blogger that she is would never promote the industry that is rip offs…if you can’t afford the real thing you don’t buy a fake you buy a different bag.there are so many cheaper labels that have nice bags. So for all the ignorant people that think sporting a fake is ok its not its TACKY just like your comments. He has impeccable style but needs to leave the ripoffs to the canal street vendors. Get serious people.

  27. OMG, the bag thing was soooo not a big deal. Anyway, moving on.
His style is interesting, however I am NOT a fan of cleavage shirts – at all.
Love the bow tie looks, very cute. Will give him a 7 out of 10.

  28. Me likes a man that can rock a bow tie and scarves. Wishing more men had some style insteada wearing these hoodies and damn Polo boots. He kinda reminds me of Kevin Hart too.

  29. I think his style is hawt!! I love his individuality it’s really a breath of fresh air…as for the bag, i don’t see a problem with it and as others said i didn’t even notice it until it was brought to my attention. and @ KBS he does remind of kevin hart also!

  30. @ esme when i come on here to veiw the fashionbomb of the day i comment on the person style weither it be good or bad i focus on the fashion bomb. you guys tend to always have something to say to me. if yall leave me alone then i cant have a conversation with anyone. stop commenting on what i have to say.. im not the one claire picked for fashionbomer of the day comment on that ,,,i dont know yall and dont care to ,,so there’s nothing for me to say to yall..but yall keep saying something to me ,,i say it all the time.. LEAVE ME ALONE,,

  31. Your style is original so kudos to you. plus a love a man who can pull off a bow tie. Constructive criticism: You have a great body so i get you one to show it off. You should try a fitted t-shirt over the deep v-neck. It’ll be much more masculine and flattering.

  32. I like it! its like str8 meants kinda gay but in a good way. I get it! I wouldn’t want my man to show man cleavage but its growin on me. I love whn Kanye do it. his shirt is jus a lil more stretched out. yeah the bag is fake but who don’t own a fake coach? shxx i do!! lol jus wouldn’t tak a pic wit it thou

  33. “To me its not too far from buying a shoe thats inspired by a certain designers look so u buy that shoe because that is what you can afford.”

    -EXACTLY!!!

If you wear any type of heels 9 times out of 10 if they aren’t DESIGNER then I can guarantee you they are designer inspired…BAGS are no different.

anywhoo- Kevin is FINE…!!!!. I can’t get down wit the V necks tho! he seems like a cool guy…great style…

  34. wearing knockoffs and counterfeits is just tacky. let’s not act as though there aren’t good quality products in all different price ranges. when i couldn’t afford to wear louis vuitton or gucci, i was wearing the best that i could afford in coach, guess, and dkny. wearing fakes devalue your look.

  35. I really love his style. Bag or not, you can tell he takes time to consider what he’s going to wear. Yes, some people don’t like the deep v neck, but it shows that he’s willing to take risks and wear what he likes regardless of what other people have to say. All this damn commotion about a bag is so unnecessary. Claire took the photo down cause it’s her damn website. Geez, it’s bag, it’s not like he’s killing his own kind or sleeping with children. He rocked a designer INSPIRED bag. It’s no different from chicks who rock these the quilted purses INSPIRED BY Chanel, just without the CCs. I’m not saying I would wear it, but hell, cut the man some slack. Unless one of y’all are going to spend the money and buy him the real thing, leave it be. It’s not like he’s claiming it’s a real bag, he said so himself it’s an imitation. It’s not supposed to be a real LV bag, it’s basically a brown leather bag with tan trim with designs on it.

With that being said, great pick for the Fashion Bomber Claire, and can we find out if some of these brothas are single lol I’m just saying…

  36. Aside from the bag his look is pretty cool as well as his blog. He still gets my vote.
SN: We can all agree to disagree with being downright disrespectful. C’mon people.

  37. U guys are very negitive. THere are 9 good things about his fashion and u all be talking about that ONE mistake? OM

  38. I LOVE his style! Not many men can look fashion forward and undeniably manly/sexy at the same time.

Plus, I LIKE THE BAG (how ’bout that?!?!) lol. I’m with him on that one…

  39. I think he looks amazing. I personally see nothing wrong with the LV inspired bag, I actually see nothing ever that justifies spending as much money as a real LV costs on a bag. I mean, spending that much would only make me feel guilty for all the worthwhile things I could spend my money on.

I think he’s fly as hell and I take no stars away for the LV rip-off. I like that he’s confidently rocking it like he doesn’t give a damn about designer labels. Love that about his style!

  40. Usually I’m pretty “stealth” on this site but I can’t right about now
Some of you people are coming off as pretentious and ignorant
“oh you fancy huh”?… If you know anything about fashion you know the different between counterfeit and inspired..

Let’s be honest.. Claire does a look for less section every week or so where she finds designer duds most cant afford and find a cheaper alternative that looks like the originial…

Inspired means it looks similar to the real thing but has branding of the actual maker.. counterfeit is an EXACT replica that also houses the “designers” name on the item aka fake…

So to sum it up.. All of you who shop @ Aldo, Steve Madden and Asos (not to mention any other mainstream store) are wearing “inspired” pieces… Do you call your shoes fake? Don’t get it twisted cause his bag is “inspired” by LV.. In no way is Kevin’s bag pretending to be LV.. (like someone mentioned if you know LV you can tell from afar the pattern is off) …I haven’t seen it up close and can probably say without a doubt it doesn’t have fake LV tags all over it

@Claire.. really.. I’d expect better from you than using the “I’m not promoting fakes on my site”…. then maybe finding budget buys that LOOK like the designer item should be a section removed from your site

Yall need to stop being so judgemental and if you claim to be fashion critics step ur knowledge game up

    I’m done

  41. @nicole-natassha-don’t play yourself instructing others to educate themselves on fashion terms. i’m currently in school studying fashion. i am familiar with the terms counterfeit and knockoff, and i made sure to include BOTH terms in my previous explanation of why i agree with claire that appearing to promote either is not a good look for urban fashion. they are in the same family, and its ridiculous to wear one when you can find good quality pieces in all different price ranges.

from the blog of a person who works in fashion education: http://www.wornthrough.com/2009/02/27/on-teaching-fashion-counterfeits-knock-offs-and-plagiarism/

A knock-off is copying another designer’s style, but not claiming to be the original designer item.

Ever see a handbag with rainbow initials that aren’t LV (similar to the one pictured above), but which looks a lot like a Louis Vuitton monogram handbag? That would be a knock-off.

if i come of pretentious to you, because i don’t support actual pretension in pretending own something that you obviously can’t afford, instead of the best in what you can, oh well.

  42. Kevin I can’t believe you didn’t have the courage to send your pics in earlier! You have excellent style! You represent London well and you are so gorgeous!

  43. The definition actually proves my point IMO so thanks… with that said I hope no one who feels sooooo strongly about the bag shops @ the above stores I mentioned or any other “trend boutique” for that matter

I’m not into the cyber arguing, nor was I directing my comments to any one individual so I’ll move on and say…

Kevin your style is great.. rock that bag and rock it proudly!!!

    xo

  44. lmao…i think it’s incredibly ironic that someone who was calling OTHERS out for their ignorance can’t recognize that counterfeits and knockoffs are in the same family, wearing either still constitutes wearing a fake, and that neither is better then the other but whatever. and taking insipiration from designers or runways is not the same thing as blatant copying of a designer motif or logo. get real. and i think kevin has great style overall as well, bag notwithstanding.

  45. Why all these negative comments about a silly bag? Kevin, your style is bold and sexy. I wish I saw more men out there taking risks like this. Bravo!

  46. god is good!!! these beautiful people he creates sheesh how could a girl ever turn gay lol *no offense*
