It’s time for our weekly Fashion Bomber. Are you ready?
Well, his name’s Duane, and he is fabulous:

He says, “My peeps in real life and on the world wide web call me Fashion Prynce.”

“… I’m a Personal Shopper/Stylist in the NYC area originally from the island of Barbados. For as long as I can remember I have always cared about the way I look on a day-to-day basis, and because it’s a day-to-day process my style is ever-changing.”

” I don’t have a set style but I don’t like to be boring.”

” If its a basic outfit there’s gotta be a great scarf (I own about 40) or other accessory to be a focal point.”

“Even my hair styles change regularly. Take a look at a few of my fave get-ups and maybe u can tell me what my style is. LOL.”

I really love that sheer colorful caftan. You definitely have a unique look!
What do you guys think?

  1. Oh yea..I’m gettting my tea ready (no pun intended)..this is gonne be entertaining..Some cute boots though!

  2. Big up to him being Bajan but i don’t like men in dresses/skirts/tunic/long scarves or anything else resembling a feminine article of clothing.

  3. While he is definitely fabulous, again I like manly men and God knows they are scarce on the Bombshell posts. Where are you men who don’t wear leggings, tunics, caftans, turbans, baggy shorts with knee length sicks, shirts that show plenty of man cleavage, carry murses etc?

  4. I totally agree with zimbabwechic. It seems like the only times men are featured are when they dress let’s just say rather different (not to say inferior or bad but just different…)

  5. I like Duane’s style. He has a little André Leon Talley (American’s top model and former editor of vogue)going on. On the other hand, I have no problem with a man wearing a caftan but lets make it masculine. Sheer caftans should be worn at the beach. Just saying. YOUR STILL FIERCE DUANE. Oh, I love the third pic down, love that look.

  6. Fashion Mavens are close minded? HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE, with the likes of Junya Watanabe and McQueen?! Perhaps the comments on what “real men wear” are coming from people who a have a cliche “passion for fashion” and no idea where or how it started. He is expressing his personal style with New York and Bajan flair. Where do some of you people live? serious question.

Duane I’m living for the sheer number, its fabulous.
    xoxo, a fellow New Yorker.

  7. I like it and can appreciate it…but I’m a fan of masculinity…..Different strokes for different folks i guess. *shrug*

  8. I like it! He looks great:) It’s all about being comfortable and confident when it comes to personal style and he certainly shows that he is. Oh and by the way he is near some water in the sheer number so it’s absolutely appropriate! werk!:)

  9. You.Betta.Werk….I like it for a feminine man. At least he’s not wearing makeup and high heels (I live in Atlanta).

  10. I think the caftan is the only thing I don’t like. HOWEVER, I love his overall sense of style. He definitely has a well-developed taste. Very fresh spins on the classics.

  11. Claire are we being punked. I feel like you guys do this on purpose to get some of the feed back. now you know damn well this is a trainwreck. Are we bing punk’d? *starts screaming Ashton’s name* please start posting worthy fashion bombs, not this foolishness.

  12. My man and I could not take a stroll in any one of these looks, especially the sandal and the tunic. NO BUENO!!!

  13. Of course most straight women like masculine men. No need to state the obvious. You are not judging him as a potential date, you are judging his style. Another obvious observation, some of his looks are androgynous and others are feminine. So, does that mean he does not have a compelling fashion sense? I don’t think so.

IMO he has a great sense of style. I agree, a cool scarf can jazz up just about any plain outfit. My favs are the last picture and the grey ensemble.

  14. sigh…..ok ok ok … to each their own let me say that first. Now, I prefer men that I call “fashionable” to be of a masculine air…Its just what I like…everything else can miss me. Second…just because Bombers/Bombshells are stylists, fashion designers…ect. does not mean that we have to automatically give them props. Funky azz stylistas get the side eye just like fat personal trainers…we can’t be fooled. Now this is just a statement and not intented to be directed solely @ this Bomber just my two cents. Good day!

  15. I’m not afraid of outrageous fashion but I do think a lot of people go for broke but don’t fully pull it off you know?

He has some decent looks but I’m not convinced he has the “stuff” to be the trendsetter he trying to be.

  16. I liked the gray cloak outfit, but that’s all. I would personally like to see a few more masculine Bombers, they don’t have to be straight, my own older brother is gay, but he still dresses from the men’s section. Let’s at least try a larger cross section of gay men, if we can’t find any straight ones to participate.

  17. Even as a not potential date what happened to men who dress like men? Gay or straight I just see a lot of feminine pieces all around. Just like I like chic simplicity on women I like casual masculinity on men, that’s the style I prefer, regardless of who they sleep next to at night

  18. lol cant stop laughing you ppl r some killers but i like his look but my brother that dress ,why why why.

  19. people are satrting to confuse what this blog really is about . The fashion bombs are designed to showcase people unique street styles NOT to show eye-candy for you ladies ..

“My man and I could not take a stroll in any one of these looks, especially the sandal and the tunic. NO BUENO!!!”
-nobody asked you about your man hun …

“While he is definitely fabulous, again I like manly men and God knows they are scarce on the Bombshell posts. Where are you men who don’t wear leggings, tunics, caftans, turbans, baggy shorts with knee length sicks, shirts that show plenty of man cleavage, carry murses etc?”
-girllll , this is not a dating site ….

Stop looking for your future husband in the mail bombs plz .
no hate , just truth .

  20. YES bnasty19! I was thinking the SAME thing. oh and the only thing that makes him a biological man is a penis, so miss me with all this “masculine”, “dress like how a man should” mess. Read up on identification and socially constructed concepts, ie; gender norms. please and thanks.

  21. Jae *** DOING THE HOLY GHOST ALL OVER YOUR COMMENT**

“Perhaps the comments on what “real men wear” are coming from people who a have a cliche “passion for fashion” and no idea where or how it started.” <<< Yeah because there are ton of bloggers out there like this, and I end up holding my tongue because they are my friends, but they are way to closeminded, but then they can't understand why McQueen dresses a man like that and sends him down the runway. ..... I really think this is where the black community gets held back, nobody is saying that we have to adopt the style of the biggest designers, but at the same time, if all you know of Forever 21, a couple of thift shops, and Etsy then you don't have a "passion" for fashion. I see way to many Mall chicks that don't need to comment on things like this. Just know that my rant if a general rant, and not aimed at ANYBODY on here, the only comment I really saw was the one i quoted so pay me no mind.

  22. I like his pieces, they are tasteful and he’s putting a classic twist on diff things. The grey garment..I dig that, its enough to make you do a double take. He’s saying look at me, not screaming look at me..He’s not some tacky man with a turban on. Your style comes off as effortless, good job.

  23. @bnasty as a woman getting married in December I am no longer looking for a husband and clearly wouldn’t find one on this site going by the male bombs. this is not a dating site but I like men to look masculine no hate, just the truth, I don’t find anything fashionable about a man wearing a caftan gender nor or what not. Style is subjective and to me his style is not what’s up on him or on any man as well as the whole LMFAO 80s look or loose shorts with socks. You might love it but I don’t.

  24. He looks nice with the dreads (like the hair). The only outfit I like is the denim shirt and cargo pants!

  25. 1. I think when we “as women” are looking for fashion bombers, we’re looking for him to put a masculine spin on fashion.

    2. Most of you know that if a woman was wearing the same exact pieces, you may not have given him the two thumbs up.

I’m definitely on the fence (because I have seen worse)…and almost curious to see what kind of shoes he had on under the kaftan.

  26. Just way to much going on here Its a fine line between fashion and doing way to much all I can say is her set the line on fire…..

  27. You people on here are a trip! Stop getting upset at folks who don’t like the feminine fashion look on a man! I for one, I’m not trying to look at a dude in a dress, skirt, tunic, mini skirt, hot pants, women’s leggings, skinny’s or preppy shorts that stop way above his knees etc., and consider him fashionable. If it’s not apart of your ethnic culture (kilt, buba, etc.,) I don’t see it. You are going to go either way…a gay man with great MALE fashion sense, or you’re going to be a straight up drag queen…pick one! Lol! And yes it’s to each it’s own, but don’t get pissed when someone doesn’t agree that it’s fly…especially when it’s on a forum like this, which is ASKING PEOPLES OPINION about the person and their fashion! This Derek J and Ms. Lawrence stuff is a hot mess to many…running around here looking like a 6 year old boy playing in his mama’s heels…but in reality you’re a 28 year old grown ass man! Lol! Come on people…everyone isn’t going to like everything…for those of you that think his fashion is fly, that’s great! And for those that think “not so much”, hey that’s fine too! I give him a thumbs up for pics 3&4…and with that, it’s only an opinion. You guys may carry on with madness…lol! ;o)

  28. I think ppl are forgetting this is a fashion blog and fashion comes in many forms!!! I absolutely luved some of his looks, Duane continue doing you fashion is all about risk and ppl hate what they don’t understand do u boo boo and Claire thanks for always keeping an open mind!

  29. Whenever there is a fashion bomber, all of the thirsty “fashionistas” come out, claws ready to tear up the guy if they think they don’t have a chance with him. What’s all this, “I like my men masculine” mess? Are we judging the man or his STYLE/ability to assemble an ensemble/ sartorial taste? Ladies…get it together. The Thirst is NEVER in fashion. Every male is not here for you to determine whether he could be your perfect mate. If you’re looking for a man to salivate over, go on over to Essence or Playgirl. Otherwise, let’s look at the clothes.

And, as far as theclothes are concerned, I love all except for the lime colored outfit – that one was a little too one note for me and the black pantent leather oxfords were confusing. As for the infamous caftan – I LOVE IT. I assume he was headed to a yacht – freakin’ FIERCE. I love the denim and cargo number, but I think that the sand cape with the denim pant is not getting enough love. The cape instantly turned that look from drab to dramatic! Overall, he’s got loads of style, which is why people pay him for his advice.

  30. I LOVE DUANE THANK GOD SOMEONE LIKE ME ;) He is fierce and I agree whenever girls who think their the Anna Wintours of fashion see a guy outdoing them they automatically attack its not that serious u don’t have to like it just simply vote n move on or don’t comment #thatsall

  31. I have no problem with men adopting pieces of women clothing to fit their style, because lets face it we do the same to their clothes. Plus men don’t have that many option as me do. I think his style is great, but I have to agree with the tunic thing its not because it feminine, I don’t like it because it seems to just swallow him up and doesn’t show off much of his body. I don’t think the sheerness or the color compliments his body at all. The last pic is my favorite love it.

  32. People on here talking about “Thristy Fashionistas” really I have read every single post and not one stood out as being “Thirsty” after this Bomber. Please have like 6 or 7 seats!

  33. Ok, I agree this is a site to showcase ppl personal style, but that does not mean that ppl have to LIKE it. I agree the 1st look is NOT fashionably I don’t care male or female, the 2nd look I am not sure what that is I can’t make it out in the pic, luv the 3rd and 4th look I am on the fence don’t luv or hate it, the color is nice though. I do give in kudos for being so bold and different.

  34. I like his style. It borders on feminine and masculine. I can appreciate this because clearly he’s not trying to be or pretend that he’s a woman, but can draw inspiration from a woman’s wardrobe.

  35. Jae & SoulStar–Co-signed

Duane–cheese on bread!! lol I love the looks, yuh look good yes!
My personal favs were the sheer dress and the grey coat over the jeans n brown boots. I support the idea of throwing a scarf into the mix now and then, I do it too. Go Duane!!

  36. I actually like his look its unique and seems effortless and it fits him so kudos to you sir:)

  37. Is that man wearing a dress!? A dress?! This is all kinds of wrong, I don’t care what anyone says. There is being inspired by women’s clothing and then there’s wearing the clothing itself! Hot mess.

  38. Smh smh smh! I don’t like the second outfit-just don’t like the pieces(on a man or woman). Everything else I like not quite love. I’ve been inspired.

  39. I pray that some of you get to know how malicious your comments can be. To the commenter who coined the phrase “cliche passion for fashion”, thank you. That comment reminds me of a lot of people.

  40. I like his style… especially the last two photos. He’s different, and taking a risk. The green pants are hot. I’m not sure “personally” about the longer sweaters/caftan… but they look good on him. Best Bomber I’ve seen in a while…

  41. Barbados massive! Duane is obviously a character, so i have to judge him in that way. So, in that vein, he’s fabulous ;)

  42. I respect his style for being true to himself but my only question is how did he go from a fade to dreads in what seems like 5 minutes to me? Like is that a quickweave?

  43. First I laughed and then I loved it! Takes a LOT of confidence to present some of these photos. I don’t know why but I love it! There’s just something…maybe it’s the confidence…

  44. WOW bombers…..there is nothing wrong with wearing caftans, skirts etc. Its how well you can pull it off without making it look like a joke. Yes..Alexander Mcqueens sends men down the run way with feminine wear but it is well but together. Some caftans can look a little fem. what is the big deal of making that statement.

  45. I love his look, aside from the neon lime green outfit. I happen to love when men wear scarves (gay or straight). And I love his caftan. Duane, I personally like your look in general. Don’t change anything about yourself, especially with from people who think the previous “bomber” was too simple. Some people need to understand what personal style and fashion is. It’s an art, a mute way to show your personality through the way you dress. No one (who is a stylist, personal shopper etc.) wants to look like a plain Jane or Joe. Have you seen Brad Goreski (whom style I covet)?

  46. i think jae is right. you ladies on here always seem to come the hardest for bigger women and men who dont wear tims and rocawear. Like come on, its his style. No one is asking you to judge based on what you THINK a man should wear, but if you think he executed his outfit. This isn’t eharmony. So stating what you would LIKE to see in a man is irrelevant to someone’s fashion sense. Again just because he does not wear big ass jeans and tims, he is considered not fashion forward? For a blog supposedly for “fashionistas” yall sure are ass-backwards in your comments on fashion. no hating, just facts.

  47. claire i think you should regulate who can comment or what people can say on this damn fashion bomb daily. there have been so many malicious ass people on here not criticizing constructively but straight BEING RUDE and unnecessary.

  48. I really dislike this labelling of “gay” style VS. “straight” or “masculine style”. When we have female fashion bombshells on here wearing man-style clothing we call it fashion, but when it’s a man wearing a caftan we freak out. Well, Duane, I love your caftan. But even more so, I ADORE your green outfit! YES! And that long beige cardigan gives me life. Perfect!

  49. The kaftan/feminine look isn’t doing it for me, however I do really like the last two, more masculine looks – the dreads really suit him. His style is definitely unique and I commend him for choosing to be who he is. What bothers me, in the comments, is this idea that because I can’t see what these ‘real authentic lovers of fashion’ see; those fortunate few, obviously blessed with this innate, free-spirted, limitless view of fashion, or because I like men to dress in a masculine fashion, I’m somehow designated the role of the small minded ‘Forever21-loving mallchick’, who doesn’t truly love fashion.
Opinions on fashion and style are subjective; formed via our many different perspectives and world views. Therefore I am going to judge any submissions from my hetrosexual, female, point of view, which may mean that I won’t like a feminised look on a male bombshell submission. Does this mean that I’m viewing his submission like it’s a profile on eHarmony? Um, No.
So to those superior commentators feeling sorry for us poor simple-minded folk, who don’t get that ‘McQueen did it’, I say I wouldn’t care if our Lord and Saviour himeslf, put that ish on the catwalks of Paris, I STILL wouldn’t like it! Is that OK, with you? Am I allowed to have that opinon?! Sheesh!

  50. I’m inspired by his individuality HOWEVER, can we look at a man who wears women’s clothes as fashion forward? I’m a firm believer that fashion shouldn’t have rules but his style seems to be more ‘LOOK AT ME’ rather than ‘I have fresh ideas.’ It’s a bit much.

  51. I think what people need to understand is that is a Fashion Blog geared towards women….How many straight men do you know visit Fashion Blogs and read daily enough to submit a pics of themselves. Once you understand that, then you will appreciate the male Bombshells.

  52. I would love to know where he got that dress that he’s wearing by the water. I need that in my life…

  53. It may not be what I look for in a man, but sometimes there are bombshells who wear clothes I would never wear, but they rock them. This dude is rocking it.

  54. There are a lot of men who rock more masculine looks (gay&straight) but Look ladies clearly he does not bat for the straight team with that being said you don’t have to take him home so I think a lot of y’all should chill Duane looks cute and his style is uniquely fab! These rude and malicious comments Only go to show how prejudice ppl can be!

  55. I admire his courage for actually facing the world like this, but seriously this utter BAFOONERY!!!

  56. This is me Duane sorry it took me so long to reply on this but here i go. Clearly i chose 4 looks out of 365 days to submit because they are some of the ones that are the least ‘regular’. This is not how i walk into work or go shopping in the city most of them were either at a party or event that required me to stand out.

ITs a good thing i dont really give a EFFF what anyone who doesnt know me thinks about me. None of you pay me, feed me, nor put a roof over my head so what u think of me does not matter. i just hope u are adult enough to MOVE ON! U dont see me on here with Makeup and.or heels on etc so whats the big freaking deal.

I thought this section was supposed to showcase how diverse our readers are but i guess not. Hey guys at FashionBombshell/Bomber make sure u only post the pics of people with no personality, no individuality and absolutely no sense of PERSONAL style.

To those who had actual comments and advice on what they did like or whAt they didnt like and why. Thank you i appreciate ur honesty. I realize that everything is not for everyone. And i think that you guys should realize that too. Im not dressing for you. I do it for me, I thought fashion was supposed to be fun. Guess i was misinformed.

    Duane from New York.

  57. “Id rather be hated for who i am, than be loved for who i am not!”

The words i live by for over 10 yrs. Think about it.

  58. this is definite style………too bad……some dont get it but there is resolve….. they said the same to skinny jeans two years back lol …..this is definite great fashion style…….the whole men manly crap …….that idiot more than like said the same about skinny jeans……now her man wearing them…….so get a life…..

  59. If he’s going to be that sensitive, why post the photos? Why not just send it to his friends? I personally strive to be cordial in my posts, but generally speaking, I’ve never known anyone in the fashion industry who held civility in high regard-at least when it came to critiquing fashion.

Style is really subjective, as someone mentioned, and opinions will vary accordingly. My personal opinion is that throwing on a dress does not automatically make a man “fashion-forward”, just as donning menswear isn’t the apex of style for women. Being risk adverse is often boring in fashion, but, ya know, sometimes people who take risks fail.

My opinion on Duane: he looks comfortable and at ease in his clothes and that certainly makes a statement. Aesthetically, his looks are an overall miss for me.
