  • After teasing the collection for quite a while, Rita Ora has debuted all the looks from the first part of her Adidas Originals collection. Labeled the “Black” collection and hitting stores August 21st, the collection features a leather bra, shorts, and bomber jacket, all with patches from Paris, Tokyo and London. • For one of their September features, Glamour magazine tapped 30-year old former model Geena Rocero, a transgendered woman. In the interview, Rocero talks about how she participated in transgender pageants in the Philippines, her fear of being a lingerie model and clients not knowing that she was transgender, and the pivotal moment of turning 30. • The latest in J.Crew expansions comes in the form of two fragrances named “No. 31” and “No. 57.” The scents hit stores Monday in all J. Crew stores as well as online; they pull inspiration from Peggy Guggenheim’s “Exhibition by 31 Women” gallery show, which debuted in 1943 and featured creations made by women. The scents are meant to smell like aged whisky, cedar wood, and vanilla, evoking thoughts of cocktails and other scents that would have filled the gallery. (Fashionista)

  • We know that Barbie is a fashion icon–now its time to see how she plays as a fashion brand. Parent company Mattel has partnered with Lord & Taylor, Forever 21, and Wildfox for an apparel and accessories collection set to drop the fall. Cue up the memories of Tyra Banks playing Eve in Life-Size(which coincidentally is getting a sequel either late this year or early next year). Expect to see every thing from swimwear — which previewed on the Wildfox runway at Mercedes Benz Swim Week last month, — and tees to cosmetics, sleepwear and outerwear from the collection. The roll out starts with Forever 21 on September 5th, moves to the Lord & Taylor arm starting on September 14th, and ends with the Wildfox component November 15th. (WWD)
