• LVMH have announced the 30 semifinalists for their Young Fashion Designer prize. On the short list are designers hailing from as far as India (Miuniku‘s design duo Nikita and Tina Sutradhar), Nigeria (Maki Oh‘s Amaka Osakwe and Orange Culture‘s Adebayo Oke-Lawal), and Seoul (Kathleen Kye), as well as a ton of local designers, including Hood by Air‘s Shayne Oliver, Suno‘s Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty, and Shane Gabier of Creatures of The Wind. Also up for the prize is Stella Jean, Simone Rocha, and Meadham Kirchhoff. All 30 designers will present eight looks to 40 panelists which will include Net-a-porter founder Natalie Massenet, Carine Roitfeld, Patrick Demarchelier, Pat McGrath, and more. The 10 most liked designers from that round will present their collections at the end of May to LVMH heavy weights Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, Nicolas Ghesquière, Riccardo Tisci, Raf Simons, and Phoebe Philo. The winner will receive $409,750, and a year of mentoring. Congratulations to the semifinalists! Who are you rooting for? (WWD)

• Mulberry won’t be showing a collection during London Fashion Week, but they’re not kicking up their feet just yet. The brand has collaborated with buzzy model Cara Delevingne on a top-secret project, to be announced 1:30PM this Sunday at Claridge’s. I think the two have paired up for a new bag called the ‘Cara,’ but we’ll just have to wait and see. What do you think Mulberry and Ms. Delevingne have in store? (WWD)

Michael Herz

DVF has named Michael Herz as the brand’s new artistic director. Herz, an alum of Swiss label Bally, will oversee the creative concepts of DVF’s ready-to-wear, accessories, campaigns, licensee design and store design. “As the company continues to grow — and we continue to expand our product categories — it is so important to have someone next to me who will ensure that all products with the DVF name remain true to our brand,” Von Furstenberg told WWD. Herz will start in his new position immediately. (WWD)

• If your love life is crappy right about now, you’re in good company… even Jared Leto is having a hard time finding a date. Page Six reports that at Tuesday’s Guess On the Road to Nashville party, the Dallas Buyer’s Club actor asked a friend to get the phone numbers of two models he fancied. Apparently, both turned him down. Ummm… why? How? I guess not everyone is as enchanted with Leto’s big, blue eyes and shiny ombré’d locks. (Page Six)
