The Fashion Bomb News Breakdown: Charles James’s Label May be Resurrected, Georiga May Jagger to Front Mugler’s ‘Angel’ Campaign, and Natalia Vodianova Welcomes Fourth Child

• Gagging over all the preview images of the beautiful Charles James gowns currently on display in the Met? You know you are. And if you were wondering what the house of Charles James would look like, you might have your chance. According to Page SixHarvey Weinstein is looking to resurrect the label through a licensing deal and the cooperation of the James family, who owns the designer’s creations. Sources say Weinsten is set to “create an exclusive couture house,” with a fragrance option–the works. The movie mogul’s wife, Georgina Chapman, will be “retained as [a] creative [consultant],” along with her CEO brother Edward. The house of Schiaparelli, which was the subject of the Costume Institute’s 2012 show, was also reborn after the exhibit. Could this be the start of a trend? (Page Six)

• Wondering where Madonna was during last night’s Met Gala? She was just chilling at home, sulking because Anna Wintour wouldn’t let her wear the outfit she wanted at the event. The 55-year-old singer Instagrammed a shot of the look, which basically is a bunch of bandages and a whole lotta boobage. Yeah. We can all agree it’s best she stayed indoors with that outfit on… (Instagram)

• The internet is still trying to make sense of Lupita Nyong’o‘s Prada look at last night’s Met Gala. The LA Times searches for hidden meaning behind her quirky choice. Maybe Nyong’o was making some sort of social commentary, they hypothesize. The man of the night, Charles James, made dresses for the upper class back in his day, and Nyong’o “wouldn’t have been privy” to his designs. Her beaded flapper-style frock looks more like something James’s contemporary, Josephine Baker, might wear. Perhaps this was a nod to the late Baker, and how she’d paved the way at the time for women like Nyong’o in entertainment. What do you think? (Racked, LAT)

Thierry Mugler‘s tapped Georgia May Jagger to front the campaign for their Angel fragrance, a gig she was basically born to do, considering her mother, Jerry Hall, was the face of the scent 19 years ago. Keep an eye out for the campaign, launching July 1st. (Fashion Bomb Inbox)

Natalia Vodianova is a mommy again. The supermodel gave birth to her fourth child this weekend, a baby boy named Maxim. She posted a photo to Instagram of her son’s newborn baby feet that I want to bite RIGHT NOW. Last night at 2.45am was born our baby boy Maxim, living up to the definition of his name: he was born an incredible 4.2kg and 55cm,” she captioned the image. “The baby and I are doing beautifully well to the delight of the proud Daddy. Thank you for all your good wishes, I would now like to pass them on to all women who are still expecting. Enjoy every minute of it…” This is Vodianova’s first child with boyfriend Antoine Arnault. Congratulations to Natalia and her family! (Grazia)
