The Fashion Bomb News Breakdown: Pharrell Williams Curates Art Exhibit, Primark to Open Stores in America, and Drew Barrymore Gives Birth to Her Second Child

• Pharrell Williams can’t stop, won’t stop! The producer and fashion industry darling has snagged himself another project, this time as curator for an art exhibition at Emmanuel Perrotin’s new space in Paris, the Salle de Bal. The show, appropriately titled “Girl” will feature work from 40 artists, most of them female, including Sophie CalleTracey EminMarina Abramovic, and more. The exhibit will run from May 27th to June 25th. (WWD)

Primark Store

• Popular British high street brand Primark is coming to America. The retailer announced plans to open its first US flagship in Boston’s Downtown Crossing district, in the Burnham Building. It will open doors in late 2015, with plans to expand its reach to more locations in the northeast through mid-2016. While I’m quite pleased to hear Primark is actually coming to America, it’s a little surprising that they chose to open up shop in Boston first. New York City tends to be the “it” landing for European brands looking to delve into the American Market. There are just more people, tourists, and, it also happens to be the unofficial fashion capital of the world. At the very least, this news is exciting for Boston fashionistas with a taste for British sartorial penchants. (WWD)

• Would you pay $1,550 for a nylon bag? The Olsen Twins are back with another exorbitantly-priced handbag from their brand The Row. This is a fabric version of a Spring 2014 sling bag they also produced in calfskin. The label has released handbags in the past set at jaw-droppingly high prices, but this one, made out of simple nylon fabric, has to be the most ridiculous IMO. What do you think? If you had the money, would you cop? (Racked)
