Roland Mouret is the latest designer to join forces with Banana Republic. The dress-master’s teamed up with the high street label for a 25-piece capsule collection of sweaters, skirts, pants, blouses, and of course–dresses! But if you’re looking for more reasonably priced versions of Mouret’s more popular styles, you won’t find ’em here: “It’s not a copy of my clothes in a less expensive [version], but the experience of a fitted dress for the Banana Republic customer,” he told WWD. Prices will start at $49.50 for a belt, peaking at $165 for a dress. (WWD)

Teva x Opening Ceremony

• It was only a matter of time before Teva, the it-sandal for the summer, came through with a fashiony design collab. Opening Ceremony announced a collaboration with  the sporty sandal brand, which will take the normcore staple to new heights. They will be selling both men’s and women’s styles of the shoe, in flashy shades of gold and silver, in their classic Psyclone style and two new ones Gladiator Hurricane and the Ultimate Hurricane. Prices range from $70 to $90. Not going to lie, I’ve been kind of digging this ugly shoe trend, and that gold pair is giving me visions of really fun haute normcore (dibs on coining this phrase!) outfits for sunday picnics in the park! The collection will roll out in stores and online on May 27th. Will you be picking up a pair? (The Cut)

• For anyone who’s ever wondered, “how awesome would it be if Haider Ackermann did couture?” might not have to wonder for much longer. The designer’s announced that plans to expand his eponymous label, and on the list? A dip into designing couture. “Suddenly this season, I am also thinking about opening stores,” he said. “Another thing I would love to explore is haute couture. I know where I’d do it, the music, what it would look like. I don’t forget these things – they haunt me every night. Sometimes I feel I have a pile of ideas that I am keeping aside because I can’t use them [for ready-to-wear].” Sounds pretty fantastic! We’d love to see what Ackermann brings to the table on the couture tip! (Vogue UK)

Santigold has a full plate. She just rolled out a cosmetics collaboration with Smashbox, is working on a new album, and is about to be a mom. But it seems that’s not enough for the rapper, who has teamed up with Stance on a unisex sock line inspired by her life. Prices will range from $14 to $19, and will be available at Opening Ceremony, Colette, and Stance’s e-store. (WWD)

WWD confirms today that Joe Zee will be leaving his position of creative director at ELLE to serve as chief creative officer and editor-in-chief at Yahoo‘s fashion site, as well as  and editor-at-large at their beauty site, which helmed by editor-in-chief Bobbi Brown. Yahoo isn’t particularly known for its fashion, but when Zee had a sit-down with Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer and chief marketing officer Kathy Savitt after they approached in in March, he realized that this was an opportunity for him to “speak to a really big audience…in a really chic way.” Zee also says he has a lot of creative freedom with this new gig:  “I certainly never shied away from innovation or anything new,” he said. “I can build a staff, I can build something. I think the great thing is, I will be able to conceive, develop and launch this incredible magazine…and do events and video.” Can’t wait to see what he does for the site! (WWD)
