For all of the little Beys out there headed back to school, Beyonce has just dropped a bundle of supplies on her website.  Labeled with lyrics from her songs — BLOW, PARTITION and HEAVEN all make the cut — the kit includes a tote bag, pencils, a composition note book, t-shirt, and a poster of the singer.  In addition, she teamed up with STATE to release a backpack under her #BeyGood project.  For every backpack purchased, the company will give one to children in need.     • If you’re a big online shopper, its time to rejoice! A new Spring mobile shopping app is likely a dream come true.  With the simplicity of Uber, Seamless, Instagram and Tinder all rolled into one, the iPhone only app allows you to buy products with a literal swipe of a finger. So far there are 150 brands including Carolina Herrera, Warby Parker, Cushnie et Ochs and Public School who will be participating.     • After considerable controversy regarding their racially insensitive hairstyle policy, the US Military has backtracked. While back in April the military banned hairstyles like twists and cornrows from women on active duty as “exaggerated” and not keeping to the essential point of being efficient and effective, those styles have now been remitted into acceptance by the Army, Navy and Air Force. The words “matted” and “unkempt” have also been removed from the document; they were once used to describe hairstyles like locs and cornrows. (The Fashion Spot)
    • Though we may have skipped a few episodes here, Vanity Fair’s Michael Carl has continued on with his Carl’s Crush web series. The latest thing to catch his ire: fashion faux pas on Fire Island.  In his always comical way, Carl dresses up in an ape suit to pick at people in everything from fluorescent sunglasses to Abercrombie and Fitch tees.     • For all of the beauty bombers out there, the beauty site Into The Gloss(you might know them for their cool skincare features with celebrities like Pharrell) is gearing up for expansion mode with a slew of new hires and some new investments.  Though we announced yesterday that Nick Axelrod, a co-founder of the site, is headed to Yahoo’s fashion vertical, the company has hired Henry Davis form Inde Ventures and will also be bring their staff numbers to more than 15 people(up from 5) by the end of the summer.
