Storytime! About three weeks ago, I walked into a Harlem shoe store on my way to brunch and spied one of the shopgirls wearing a sweet snapback emblazoned with the word “GOLD.” I did a quick survey of the shop and to my great dismay, couldn’t find the hat. So, as any curious fashionista would, I promptly asked her where she found her hat.
Another associate piped up, “It’s from my friend’s line, The Gold. You can check them out on Instagram, and they have a bigcartel shop.” The minute I got home from brunch, a simple Google search led me to the brand. I perused their wares, and was rather impressed.
The Gold serves up saucy streetwear, featuring risqué phrases like “I’m High.” Perfect fare for the likes of Robyn Fenty.
The brand also offers less controversial pieces, like their gun dial t-shirt boasting Greek geometric shape and golden AK-47 detailing at the collar.
The pieces are quite affordable, with prices ranging from $30-$40 for their tees and snapbacks.
I must, must, must have that “Gold” snapback in all black! (and maybe also the red-brimmed one just for fun.) If you like what you see, check out The Gold at thegold.bigcartel.com.
