Happy Monday!
So every month, style maven and Queen of Effortless Chic Daisy Lewellyn gathers her fabulous friends for a Brooklyn themed brunch. Tastemakers from various industries come together to eat yummy foods, indulge in bottomless mimosas, and partake in titillating conversation.

Yesterday marked the 6 month anniversary of the Brooklyn Brunch Series, so of course I brought The Fashion Bomb’s photographer, Marta McAdams, to capture a bit of the beauty in the room.

Check out the Real Style:

Kimera, Gionvanni, and Shantel bet on black and white frocks, uplifted by statement accessories and bold lips.

Darnell, Saquan, and Hanif kept it cool and casual in denim, sneakers, and v-neck tees.

I loved Sharifa’s red and black printed dress and Chanel bag.

Curtis and Isoul of Uptown Magazine looked positively dapper in button downs, ties, and color blocked separates.

Hairstylist Nadia was alluring in a Minkpink Donatella Mini Dress and a top knot.

This young lady accented shorts and a cardigan with a statement Céline tote.

This chic chica didn’t stick around for long, but I was feeling her curled hairstyle and eyebrow design. I can see Willow Smith adopting this look as a 20 something, can’t you?

T. Bernie Bernard of Cocoa Chic Beauty embraced one of my favorite colors (blue) and my favorite summer silhouette (a romper), along with lovely yellow nails and green accents.

Blue was a hot color for brunch, witnessed by Luam’s lovely pleated number….

And by this young lady’s form fitting shift, gold belt, and tan Michael Kors Hamilton tote.

Even the hostess with the mostess, Daisy Lewellyn, bet on blue in a cobalt dress from H&M and multicolored bowed sandals from JustFab.com (she disclosed she copped her whole outfit for less than $100!).

As for me…

I opted for orange in a one shoulder MSGM dress made out of comfortable jersey. I don’t really do high heels during the day on weekends, so slipped on my favorite Chloé sandals.

I know a lot of you guys think white shoes are tacky, but I don’t subscribe to this rule. They might not work for you, but they work for me! I kept the white going with white vintage sunglasses and an oversized Diane von Furstenberg Harper Clutch.

I also hopped to Polish Bar BK to get some Tribal Minx done. Yes, I was completely inspired by this post on 5 manicures to try.

Then I was off to brunch to mix, mingle, make new friends, and catch up with old ones!

  1. LOVE the orange on you, Claire! And you actually made white shoes work (+ love the tribal nails)! Love it! All the looks seemed effortless and perfect for summer. Great stuff!

  2. I never comment on posts, but I must say that I really enjoyed this one! Looks like everyone had a great time!

  3. You look stunning as always! I see my buddy was there Isoul Harris, looking dapper! We have to collaborate and do a luncheon together ha! xoxo

  4. Everyone one looked so well dressed, especially you Claire (your hair was on point!). I loved that girl’s eyebrow design… I usually don’t like that sort of thing but it seems to suit her.

And Loni, what’s wrong with Lewellyn’s hair? It looked cute.

  5. Everyone looks great, loving the blue…But Claire the Orange was perfect and your hair looked gorgeous :)

  6. Great look, Claire. So, so glad to see you embracre the white… Almost as rad as your Wangs (that I have seen everywhere, but on you first!)

  7. i am pretty sure those cobalt blue dresses are both the same and are from zara and not h&m.
claire you look great in orange.
and i have that same strapless printed dress. it is the jcrew abstract rose dress. i love it.

  8. Thx guys for your lovely comments and not slamming my choice of white footwear!
@Steph Daisy told me her dress was from “The fashion gods at ash and em aka H&M,” but it’s very possible she got her fast fashion retailers confused!
And @Brittany I consider a high heel something above a couple inches. I haven’t measured the heel on my Chloé’s, but they’re glorified flats as far as I’m concerned. By high heels, I mean 4+ inches (there were a few people in attendance in some serious stilettos, as you can see).

  9. Clair your hair is bangin’. What color do you use on your hair? i would love a tutorial about how to choose the right blonde for you…I am thinking of it, but it’s always a challenge when considering skin tone and shade…

  10. Love the looks! Since I know way too many of the people pictured for me to be working market in ATL while they brunch in Brooklyn : ) Thank God for Coterie & a work trip to NYC next month.
