Happy Friday, y’all!
I am honored to be a keynote speaker at this year’s Blogging While Brown conference. I’ll be participating in a panel called “Blogging to Empire Building” alongside blog greats Necole Bitchie, Angel Laws of Concrete Loop, and Karen Civil.

I personally feel tremendously under qualified to be included in such an esteemed group, but am humbled by the opportunity!
At any rate, they’ve given me the option to invite a handful (5) of readers to come see me yap. The event is at 4:30 tomorrow, Saturday, June 22nd at the Schomburg Center in Harlem.

If you’re mildly interested, just leave a comment! Preference will be given to beginner bloggers who could benefit from a few kernels of wisdom, so include your URL with your comment if that’s the case for you!
See ya tomorrow;)
*If you’re not in New York, but still have something you’d like to ask the panel, tweet me with the hashtag #BWBQandA so we can answer your question.
**A website called Fashion Week Online interviewed me recently. Check it out here.

  1. Next steps Paris! We definitely need some inspiration and tips. It would be fantastic to build a “brown” community of bloggers outside the US borders in this connected world.

  2. I would love to attend this! I’ve been blogging for awhile but I keep falling off and am currently trying to restart my blog up. My blog is linked! :-)

  3. MOST EXCELLENT INTERVIEW MIZ CLAIRE!!!
it just solidified my reasoning for visiting this site on a daily basis.
y’all are food to inspiration chasers like myself.
i tots identify with you on loving ‘versatile clothing’ like your cobalt Kenzo Jumpsuit in the article.
i am obsessed with Norma Kamali’s ‘All-in-One’ dress for years now and recently Gap’s 4-in-1 Navy/White maxi!
anything that can lend itself to multiple incarnations means less packing. no muss, no fuss.
    great read! :-D

  4. Claire, that interview was SUPERB! I respect your work and that’s why I visit every day. Keep up the great work and I hope you achieve all of your goals and more!

  5. Hi Claire, I would love the opportunity to hear what you and the other amazing bloggers that to say/teach/recommend! I am VERY new to blogging and it has been difficult to find my voice and be original.

I hope I can be chosen as one of the five attendants and absorb all you have to say!

    Thank you!

  6. I would love to attend as well… I am an aspiring personal style blogger, but I haven’t gotten my operation off of the ground just yet! I know some of this information would prove to be valuable for me.

  7. Hi Claire,

I would be able to benefit from such an event significantly, and I would absolutely LOVE to attend. We all know that the road to success for anyone of color is one that is constantly under construction; having to be rebuilt every so often for the ability to endure the bruising of hardships. Hearing the stories of today’s successful brown bloggers and being able to grasp onto any piece of advice would be so profitable to my young career.

I recently began blogging (about 2 months ago), about topics that consist of true life inspirations. It’s easy to pick up a style, but I want to influence people to track down what truly makes theirs unique! The things that go on in a fashionista’s life when she’s not rummaging through her closet…I just need a bit more structured advice to execute it to perfection.

P.S Thank you SO much for that Rag&Bone hat from the SHOP & SWAP. I’ve worn it with the multi chain Betsy Johnson necklace like 6 times already lol ;)

  9. Hello! This is exactly what I’m looking for! I started my blog in May of this year. I’m open to recieving advice from anyone who’s willing to share! Confessionsofachristiangirl.com

  10. I would love to attend. I started my blog Black Wall Street last year, it is focused on shining a light on business owned by individuals of the African Diaspora ( not just Black business owners ) but ” Minorities” as a whole. To assist with building revenue in our own communities. I was thinking of having a launch party where I would introduce my blog to individuals who would like to be featured update the site and began blogging daily. This opportunity would be awesome it would give me insight on where to start.

  11. Wish I was in the NY area, Blogging While Brown could really benefit me since I’m not just new to fashion blogging but also new to social media. Hopefully next time, meanwhile checkout my blog http://www.vavavogue.com and tell me what you think… :)

  12. Congratulations Claire!!! I love this, you are more than worthy. I started stalking your blog yes stalking !!! 3 years ago and since then I can’t go a day let alone hours without checking to see if anything new has been posted. I say this because it so enlightening to see a positive young black woman doing her thing!!! I too would love to start a blog and I will one day because I love everything fashion. You are so humbled to say you feel under qualified to be included among such an esteem group, but I think you deserve to be right there. Keep doing what you’re doing for our community as well as the world of fashion. Ugh events such as these really make me regret living in cincinnati !!!
