Hey Guys!
So since I’ve moved back to New York, I’ve been popping into my old haunts and also dipping around some of my favorite neighborhoods to find cool new places to shop. My blogging buddies Kristin aka the Clothes Whisperer (www.theclotheswhisperer.co.uk) and Charlotte of Style Cartel (www.stylecartel.com) were in town from London, so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to rediscover Soho. We first had lunch at Balthazar (80 Spring Street, N,R to Prince, 4, 6 to Spring Street), then stumbled upon a store you must visit called Roundabout Resale (115 Mercer Street between Prince & Spring):

Roundabout is a consignment store that purchases and resells new and gently used designer items by Gucci, Giuseppe Zanotti, Hussein Chalayan, Balmain, and more. You can imagine three style bloggers in there. We were literally frothing at the mouth at all the offerings.

I found jackets by Hussein Chalayan ($550), Chanel suits ($1,000), Gucci Sandals (the ones in the pic above were $345), and a pair of Manolo Blahnik Mary Janes ($219). The store has a contemporary floor featuring brands like Diane von Furstenberg and Marc by Marc Jacobs, and a boot section with brand new stompers by Giuseppe Zanotti and Maison Martin Margiela.

The best thing about Roundabout were the sizes. My main issue with vintage and consignment stores are that the clothes are usually a sample size or smaller. At Roundabout I saw tons of shoes in a size 10 and even jackets in a size 12. And a lot of things were on sale for 30% off. I’m saving up for my birthday celebration next week (woot!) so had to hold off, but will definitely be making Roundabout one of my regular shopping stops.

If you’re ever in the city, visit the store at 115 Mercer (212-966-9166) or their other location at 31 East 72nd street (646-755-8009). Tell ’em the Fashion Bomb sent you!

Smootches!

*Thanks to Charlotte of Style Cartel for taking the shopping pix and to Kristin of Clothes Whisperer for modeling the stuff out of that YSL dress and Chanel jacket!

  1. i will definitely be checking out roundabout resale soon. and claire your coat is hot! where is it from?

  2. @Esme Thanks! It’s my love: A Peaches puffer by Mackage.
@EclecticStylez It was fun. I was working my Ruby Woo. Can y’all tell I have a thing for bright MAC lipsticks?!?

  3. @Claire how about we swap lives for the day no make it the year, how does writing endless 20 page papers in German sound to you?

  4. Hey…where did you get your jacket (the one in the first picture…black with fur…my friend has it in graphite…but I love the black one)….if you don’t mind me jocking your style..please share :)

  5. Claire, love the coat!!! But curious as to how Ruby Woo feels when applied…b/c when I swatched it was like chalk, eeek!

  6. Hey ladies! The coat is by Mackage, you can get it here:

It was a splurge, yes, but I always invest with winter coats as you wear them all the time. I literally wear mine…everyday.
And regarding Ruby Woo, it does feel like chalk, but I just suffer for the beauty of it. I apply a light coat of lipgloss when I start wearing it at the beginning of the day, then just reapply as needed. Danielle actually got me on Ruby Woo and suggested wearing a liner (like Cherry from Mac) with it to help it last longer. Haven’t tried it, but it’s worth a shot! xx

  7. Yes! I am in there tonight! My 26th birthday is tomorrow and I need something hot for Happy hour and a pair of pumps for the party Sat. Did they have large sizes in shoes cause I wear a 10.5 and its soooo hard finding shoes?

  8. @Ms_She A lot of shoes were labeled a size 10, but were actually more like a size 9 (European sizes run small and the conversion was off most of the time). That said, the Manolo Blahnik Mary Janes were a size 41 (which the store translated to a size 11, but fit my size 10 feet), and I also saw some Ferragamo boots that were a size 41. So you have options. And the clothes sizes were accurate.

  9. Claire,
Is the puffer warm??? I’ve been trying to decide between the Mackage Puffer and their real down coat. The puffer is so much cuter, but I’m afraid it won’t be warm enough for cold nights in NYC.
    Ps. Happy Birthday!

Yes, it’s super warm!! I go outside all the time with like just a shirt (not a sweater) and my coat. And it’s fine. One of the best investments I’ve ever made.
