The internet has been ablaze in recent weeks due to a domestic dispute between teeny bopper Chris Brown and Fashion Bomb regular Rihanna. We’re not a gossip site, so we didn’t touch the story, but had to post this Chrihanna gate inspired t-shirt we saw over at Parlour Magazine:
This $24 t-shirt by Upper Playground (available here) was made after Jay-Z apparently pledged revenge for Chris’ transgressions. No need now since, according to the YBF, the two are back together.
Fashion always seems to find humor in serious matters (Remember the Naomi Hit Me T-shirt sported by the maid slapper herself?)
But are these t-shirts funny? Or simply in poor taste?
I think the Naomi shirt was kind of cute, probably because it was sported by her. But the Jay-Z/Chris B shirt is kind of tasteless, specifically because Jay never actually “pledged revenge,” it was just media hype. I don’t know, I’m just feeling that shirt a lot less than the Naomi.
I don’t see either shirt as tasteless. Controversial? Yes. Tasteless? No. At least someone is speaking out about the unacceptability of domestic violence. Imagine if everybody spoke against such transgressions instead of reciting PR prepared statements? And the Naomi Campbell shirt is darn funny (did it inspire Katy Perry’s song?).
Naomi and her psychotic violent self are no better than Chris Brown. She assaulted employees. Imagine if that had been your boss and you needed your paycheck. I fail to see the humor.
have to force myself to keep going, not sure why, maybe next week will be easier! GET A GOOD PAIR OF RUNNING SHOES.
