Happy Friday, gorgeous ones!
Some of Black Hollywood’s finest gathered together in Beverly Hills, CA for the 3rd Annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon to honor Queen Latifah, Gabourey Sidibe, Mary J. Blige, Zoe Saldana and legendary actress, Cicely Tyson. While all the ladies certainly have made great accomplishments, let’s see how their hair and makeup faired, shall we?
Even though I want to run up on Queen Latifah with some MAC Blot Powder and Fix+ Spray, I still love her “I’m naturally this beautiful” makeup look and slicked back ‘do. Guess that would be a Hot/Hmm?
Black Hollywood newcomer Gabourey Sidibe‘s chocolate complexion could have used some more color in the face. Her curls are too cute though.
It appears as if Mary sure does love her some MAC Chestnut Lip Pencil, right? I always see her in this lip look. I’m not mad at the Queen of Hip Hop Soul though. Her skin and hair are extra fab. Hot!
Avatar star Zoe Saldana had her lips adorned in this bright red color. I love a red lip, but Ms. Saldana looks a bit washed out here, no? Perhaps it’s the camera’s flash.
Living legend Cicely Tyson wore a hat. And that’s all I have to say about that. *Bonita Butrell voice* “Don’t nobody better say nothing bad about Ms. Tyson…”
Jada Pinkett-Smith‘s skin is absolutely glowing, but I’m gonna have to issue a Hmm… on the Marge Simpson hair. Still love you though, Jada!
Letoya Luckett is serving face tonight and it is delicious! I’m loving her winged liner and gorgeous cheek highlight. Hot!
Tennis star Serena Williams looks divine. Makeup is perfectly applied and don’t you just want to pinch the beauty mark on her lower cheek? Plus the Anna Wintor-esque banged bob suits her well. Hot!
There is no other reason for me to post this pic of Earth, Wind, and Fire‘s Verdine White other than to hate the fact that his hair is longer than mine. *sigh*
And last we have Academy Award Nominee Taraj P. Henson. I’m actually on the fence with this one, so I’ll let you Fashion Bombers take the wheel on it. What do you think of her look? Hot! or Hmm…
And while you’re at it, tell me what you think of the other attendees.
