Check out the video below for an inspirational message from André Leon Talley and Isabel and Ruben Toledo:

Andre Leon Talley

André says, “Don’t give up even if it takes you 30 years…It doesn’t matter as long as you have within your universe something that sustains you every day until your goal is met….It’s not time that matters, it’s the quality of work, the quality of the vision, and the quality of the dream.”

I’m in it for the long haul, aren’t you? I’m locked in as Diddy would say!

Leave a comment and tell us how you’re following your passion.

Thanks to HipCandy for the heads up!

  1. I’m a forty year old jewelry designer, and three years ago I finally realized a life-long dream and opened my own boutique on the Left Bank in Paris. Believe me, this advice is not just for students, I felt like André was talking to me! All of us should just keep hanging in there. I’m convinced as long as there are humans, there will be a need for beauty.

  2. André Talley’s words are timely for all of us. I am going to be a 2nd year undergrad at university next September and I want to get into fashion. And like he said, the time span is not important, it’s the passion and the patience. Life has a way of testing your tenacity. Touching words really.
