So yesterday, I was on 106 & Park for my 4th time! Did you check me out?
I had a great time chatting Kardashian, Beyonce, and Ciara fashion with Wouri Vice, Shad Moss, and Teyana Taylor.
I didn’t go through all the hoopla of getting dressed like last time! I just threw on a few Balmain items I recently ordered from Ssense during their sick summer sale, including a lion print tee, Resort 2014 skirt, and my favorite Balmain over-the-knee boots.
I accessorized with Chanel earrings from A Second Chance Resale, a Carbon Showroom clutch, a Balmain belt, and a Topshop bangle.
This was definitely on the racier side for me, but felt the young’ns would appreciate it;)
I haven’t seen the video (always hate watching those after the fact), but fingers crossed I did ok! Apparently Style File will be on hold for the rest of the summer, but I hope to come back on come Fall. 106 is always so fun!

I hate this look. Fab from the neck up but from the neck down you look like a wrestler. I’m realizing that in general black American women do not know how to dress effortlessly. It’s always “too much” or not sleek. Hair and makeup game on point but the clothes…overaccessorized or not flattering on the body type.
Thank you Anna. I know we may get some flack for this but this look doesn’t work. Im not “hating”, Claire needs to figure out what works for her body.

Claire your hair and make up is always on point, but I wish you would stick to the saying tight up top, loose on the bottom, this look did nothing for you! I love you in more tailored clothing and pencils and A-line skirts

I like the last pic of you looking back. You look pretty but I should hate this outfit on you but I just can’t. It’s fun and over the top for a tv appearance….I get that. Although overall I thinks it’s not the best for your body type you are still looking sexy and confident so I think that trumps everything! What the hell….you look hot!

It’s all in the messaging, some of you are overly blunt. It’s a fashion site so a critique is natural however bringing race into is just ignorant. A lot of us are loyal readers and think you are lovely and amazing, Claire. However, I have seen much better outfits on you. My favorite was a flared short skirt and a blouse. I feel that your critiques of celebs are always on point but understand it’s hard to apply it to ourselves. Your beauty is not in question, it’s just important to dress for our body type. I’m a pear shape and I will not be caught dear in the overall trend for example. Anyway keep up the good work!

Ughhh you guys totally miss the obvious sometimes. Every setting doesn’t require a “effortlessly chic” look, which can come off boring for TV sometimes. And I don’t think would be appreciated by 106 & Park viewers (no shade, but teeny boppers can barely spell effortlessly) I like this intentionally over the top gaudy/flashy look for the show. If she had done something more “chic” you would have been calling it boring or plain.
And just b/c women are flying around the world to get getting booty shots and waist training to have some unrealistic figure doesn’t mean that mean that’s everyones goal. Clair has a great body can rock what every she wants.

Claire- great look. Anna, the thing about BLACK WOMEN is we exude confidence that everyone else wants to follow. I think the outfit was appropriate for the setting and of course her hair and makeup was on point.

Honestly, I like this look on Claire. I’ve said it before I haven’t been the biggest fan of her clothing choices but this one isn’t bad to me. Claire does have a “strong” (as in fit) looking physique (don’t mean that negatively) so something like a halter top in my opinion wouldn’t look good on her. But I feel this look is just fine.
Of course hair and makeup is flawless and I love the smoothness of her brown skin. She has beautiful brown smooth skin even on her legs.

I think the skirt is to short. But great face and skin. The look within itself is cute.
The skirt and boots work well together. .. I would have chosen turtle neck for the top but that’s just me. Claire looked good, if she felt good in that in that outfit , that’s all that matters.. someppl act like fashion gods behind their computers until you actually see’em lol
