As they ramp up for a worldwide expansion, TopShop has finally revealed their ad campaign featuring Cara Delevingne. The model serves as the first global face of the brand and is shot by Alasdair McLellan for the campaign. “Cara is a true TOPSHOP girl,” said Kate Phelan, the stylist for the shoot. “Her style is confident and playful and she can be sophisticated and chic as easily as she can be cool and casual.” Expect five new Topshop stores to roll out in the US as well as stores in Amsterdam, Egypt, Hong Kong and New Zealand. The 28-year-old designer at the head of Balmain doesn’t mind being knocked off! In a recent interview, Olivier Rousteing pointed to a quote from Coco Chanel as his reasoning for why he doesn’t see fast fashion brands like Zara and H&M as cheapening his brand. “I think it was Coco Chanel who said if you’re original, be ready to be copied,” he said. “I love seeing a Zara window with my clothes mixed with Celine and Proenza [Schouler]! I think that’s genius. It’s even better than what I do!” The designer went on to say it’s the perfect way for everyone to get a piece of the designs. Jewelry company BaubleBar is reportedly working on its first iOS application as well as other online features for its website. After raising $10 million in Series B funding lead by Burch Creative Capital, a firm headed by Chris Burch, the company is seeking to expand. Having gotten their start online, they’ve already expanded offline via exclusive partnerships with Nordstrom and Anthropologie, and soon may be available right in your pocket via an app. Keep a look out for it!
