  • Blake Lively is soon to launch her own lifestyle website. Following in what seems to be the footsteps of Gwyneth Paltrow and Goop, the former Gossip Girl star’s venture could go live as early as July 23rd and will include an e-commerce component. In past interviews, Lively has spoken about the project saying “The main element of it is that it’s about story telling and it’s about living a very one-of-a-kind, curated life, and how to achieve that. There’s nothing like it out there – it’s without a genre.” XOXO. (The Hollywood Reporter)

  • Editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan magazine, Joanna Coles, has more than a simple overhaul of the magazine’s dot com on her mind; she’s reportedly looking to expand her TV presence. Having already appeared on “Project Runway” and “Running in Heels,” both in her last post at Marie Claire, the editirix has been taking meetings to start on another projects which some say is jumping ship from Cosmo and into a development role for television. Her representatives say otherwise. “Joanna has been approached by various media outlets keen to get her to do more with Cosmo both on-screen and behind the scenes. She’s having an absolute blast running the world’s biggest magazine brand has no plans to leave.” (Page Six)

dolce-gabbana

  • Despite their law troubles, Dolce & Gabbana are hard at work on their brand. Their latest release: skincare. With two ranges named Aureaulux and Essential, the designers have turned their clothing for wardrobe and have made and comprehensively studied their own skincare for women. As a part of the testing process, the brand had 183 judges evaluate photographs of women before and after they used the Aurealux Cream and they found that 70 percent of the people who used the range were the first ones the judges looked at and the judges looked their longer. dov_charney

  • American Apparel is being asked to pay back its $10 million loan after ousting founder Dov Charney.  Lion Capital, a supporter of Charney, is looking to enforce a provision in it’s lending agreement with the brand that allows the investment firm to ask for immediate repayment if Charney is no longer the CEO of AA. Lion actually would prefer to see Charney heading the company and if that change doesn’t happen, wants immediate repayment of it’s loans which American Apparel says it can afford but could possibly trigger a seperate default on $30 million to Capital One. Talk about between a rock and a hard place. (LA Times)
