Happy Monday everyone!
It’s a dreary one here in NYC, but with a new week comes new opportunities and a new episode of Hit The Floor, so there’s reason to rejoice!
Celebs hit the 2014 Tony Awards this weekend and a few red carpet movie premiere and fêtes. The glamour quotient was high with loads of leg, embellishment, and dramatic silhouettes.
Let’s check out the ensembles shall we?
Jennifer Hudson continued her love affair with KaufmanFranco at the 2014 Tony Awards in a paillette-adorned gown from the brand’s Fall 2013 assortment. Hot!
Fellow Queens girl Lucy Liu went for high drama in a black and white two-tone strapless gown with a rise-and-fall hemline from Vivienne Westwood. She finished her ensemble with a colorful jeweled Judith Leiber clutch and stunning $405 Nicholas Kirkwood Swarovski Embellished Suede and Satin Sandals. My favorite look of the weekend and certainly one of this week’s best dressed. I live for Lucy’s style!
Fantasia and the legendary Patti Labelle posed together on the red carpet, both looking absolutely divine.
Anika Noni Rose was fierce in a one-shoulder leopard print gown with a thigh-high slit from Badgley Mischka’s Fall 2014 collection. Fabulous no?
Singer and Actress Syesha Mercado looked vibrant in a yellow hued Zac Posen gown. Gorgeous!
Audra McDonald made history at the awards show, winning her sixth Tony which makes her the most decorated actress in the history of the event! Her look was just as jubilant as her mood, as she donned a strapless floral print Escada gown from the brand’s Spring 2014 lineup.
Sophie Okonedo was also a winner, taking home the award for Best Performance By An Actress In A Feature Role In A Play for her role in A Raisin in the Sun. She was also a winner in the style department, choosing a Sophie Theallet Fall 2014 silk velvet plumeti gown with a lace waist inset.
I thoroughly enjoy each Kate Mara red carpet moment and though I loved her embellished Dolce & Gabbana frock, it was a bit out of place when compared to all of the gowns worn by the night’s attendees.
Last, but not least at the awards show was Emmy Rossum who shimmered in a silver metallic lamé Ralph Lauren Pre-Fall 2014 number. This was glamour personified.
It was a family affair for Tia Mowry-Hardrict at the How To Train Your Dragon 2 Premiere. She kept it simple and chic in a strapless Elena Reva jumpsuit alongside her husband and adorable son.
Few do a feral print gown better than Dolce & Gabbana and America Ferrera demonstrated that in a leopard patterned design from the Italian fashion house at the premiere. Though she was quite covered, this felt very fresh and fun.
At the 30th Anniversary Bash of the Orlando Hotel, Alessandra Ambrosio showed off her enviable figure in a black short-sleeve crop top and maxi skirt with a leg-baring slit.
Chrissy Teigen traipsed through LAX Airport in a casual ‘fit and $419 Giuseppe Zanotti Snakeskin Stamped Ankle Band Sandals with her adorable bulldog in tow. Cute!
At the Jeb Foundation’s 13th Annual Gala, Demi Lovato was decked out in head-to-toe Roberto Cavalli. I need her beaded fringe-detailed jacket immediately!
Jordana Brewster’s look at the 13th Annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball was fitting as she dazzled in a multitude of shades like the beautiful winged insect. For the occasion, she wore a $5,737 Peter Pilotto Embroidered Floral Lace Silk Dress, anchored with $788 Jimmy Choo Rumba Suede Iridescent PVC Sandals. She took a risk here and came out victorious.
Closing out the week was The Following actress, Natalie Zea, who channeled a Grecian goddess in a one-shoulder draped gown with a thigh-high slit from Haute Hippie and suede cutout sandals.
