I like the fourth look and the hair in the fifth look! I’ve tried doing a braided bang so many times in the past and fail miserably each time!

  2. Esta Fiesta says:

So cute!!! As a fellow shoe whore who regularly gets those questions I’m looking forward to borrowing your answer “like a boss!”

  3. Fez says:

I know I’m gonna get a lot of heat for this, but no to this. It’s not about being big or slim, it’s about dressing for your size& she does not, but the clothes& shoes are nice.

  4. Nikki says:

I like that quote. Like a boss! lol. ok style, too many bare midriff styles for me. Not bad, not the best

  5. meh says:

Eh…I guess I’m supposed to be impressed.

  6. Southern says:

Some of her skirts/pants and the black cross crop top appear too small. As was already stated, it’s not even her size, you need to know your proportions and what will flatter them.

  7. BMW says:

I only had an issue with two outfits where it did not flatter her tummy area. Overall she does have some unique pieces like the green skirt, printed jackets,. I do feel she needs to find out what works getter for her shape . Not a fashion bomb, but not terrible.

  8. Beverly T says:

Her style is okay, but certain pieces don’t fit her body well. She has a cute face and nice hair, and I think she should try to focus more of the attention to her best features, and that would be her FACE. Really nice makeup with take the attention away from your body. I really wish larger women would just hit the gym and apply better eating habits so that they can rock the styles that they really love without looking foolish. I’m not a fan of plus size acceptance. If you love unique pieces, you need to slim down.

  9. BougieHippie says:

Love that she’s showing you don’t have to dress in a big sheet as a plus size girl or like a rolled sausage Lovely style!

@Beverly T, I agree to a certain extent. The tight skirts and mid bearing tops aren’t the best choice. Heck I’m fit and I don’t wear those because they don’t look right on me.
I do like her choice of color and incorporating that into her wardrobe.

  11. Ani says:

Damn, I guess some of ya’ll think the only thing a heavy person should wear is a muu-muu or something, lol. She should just focus on her face? For real?? Even the little skin that is exposed with the crop top is tasteful. I think the style is on point. And I totally need that fierce and flawless t-shirt!

  12. kat says:

A lot of bigger women ARE hitting the gym to lose weight, but in the meantime, what do you do? Dress like a nun? Shhhiii, you got big girls playing in the French Open and winning and still can’t get love :-/

Some of her clothes are too small, that’s it! The overall style fits her shape well.

  13. NYC chick says:

I like many of the looks but some towards the end of the post are simply too tight/ill fitting. The first few looks look nice

  14. ASM says:

Really @Beverly T??? We don’t need fat shaming on this site. I appreciate the fact that Claire chooses to showcase men and women of all shapes and in all hues. I do agree that dressing for your correct size always looks more flattering than trying to squeeze into a size that’s too small.

    Crop tops? Really? Smh

  16. Hello, ladies – Stephanie from The HauteMeal here. First, thanks so much to Claire for choosing me for this feature! Love her style and her site. Also, thanks to everyone for their votes and comments. There was some body shaming, which I expected, but I appreciate those who offered constructive criticism.

I just want to address the “too tight” issue that some of you appear to have. None of what I’m wearing is too tight. Everything I wear slides on easily, zips easily, and is comfortable to wear. While I do enjoy all kinds of fits, including more body-conscious styles, I always take care that I’m never stuffed into my clothing. As one person noted, there are no rolls hanging out of anything I wear. In fact, the black crop in the first look was actually a bit big on me, even though someone claimed it looked too small. The relatively thin material of the silver PU skirt in the last photo does tend to show the outline of whatever I’m wearing under it or have tucked into it, and I have since revised how I wear that piece to accommodate that fact (this particular outfit is not on my blog because of that, but I do still love the style combination).

I think that seeing a plus-size woman wearing styles that are often only seen on a slim figure has a tendency to make some people indignant, like, “Who is she to wear something that I wouldn’t even wear myself?” Well, why wouldn’t you wear it? That sounds like a personal problem to me. I wear the things that excite me and that make me feel beautiful and comfortable. If others enjoy it, I’m happy to share. If someone doesn’t like it, well… You do you, boo. And I’ll keep doing me.

Anyway, thanks again, ladies, and have an incredible day!

  17. Ten says:

I voted bombshell ! Her style for her shape is fun I don’t agree with the midriffs I must admit . But everything else is bold and Her confidence must this entry the most inspiring bombshell I’ve viewed all this year!

  19. A says:

Denial is a hell of a drug. Instead of taking constructive criticism, u made excuses. What a Shame

  20. Feather says:

People are so damn mean. I hope all of your eyeballs explode and I can catch the particles to cook and serve to my pet snake. She looks nice and I Love all of her looks. I am curious to see if I tried out for bombshell what would I get. But yo, Claire I still want to know where that girl got that Beetlejuice outfit from. :)(:

  21. Anonymous says:

  24. Courtney says:

Lmao she told y’all *two snaps and a hair flip* everyone’s guilty of wearing things society feels isn’t suitable for our body type. Think about that next time to hide that pudge in some high waisted pants ;-)

    Have a great day lovelies.
