So they did brunch and a rehearsal dinner in France before being joined in holy matrimony in Italy. For the next stop of the international wedding festivities of Kim and Kanye West: Ireland. Reports say that on 3PM Sunday, the couple touched down in Cork, Ireland. From there they headed to Munster to take up at the Castylemartry Resort where they booked the entire 7th-century Manor House for five nights; that’s 220-acres to do whatever they want. Some suggestions? How about a nap! (Irish Mirror)
In addition to Anna Wintour, Beyonce and Jay Z decided not to attend the KimYe wedding! While it was widely reported that Jay Z was expected to play best man to Kanye, during the wedding festivities Beyonce posted an Instagram from the Hamptons. After fans pointed out that she wasn’t at the wedding, the “Run The World” singer also posted congratulations to the betrothed couple. Maybe it was the cameras, maybe it was Rachel Roy, the only thing we know for sure is that with that tight lipped crew, we’ll never be sure why the Carters weren’t in Florence this weekend. (Page Six)
In what we hope is our last bit of news about the KimYe wedding — and no, we don’t have plans on discussing the carriage that the couple took in order to depart from their ceremony, — we now have a possible reason that Rob Kardashian decided not to attend. Reports say that the reason was something very near and dear to The Fashion Bomb: clothes. Apparently, as everyone prepared for the Valentino brunch on Friday to kick the weekend off, a spat broke out between Rob and Kim as Rob couldn’t fit into any of the samples being provided by the label. For Kim, Rob hadn’t done enough to lose weight in order to fit into them and for Rob, the entire premise was superficial. While we’ve certainly had a few spats with a trouser or two that just wouldn’t button, one would think that an event as monumental as a wedding would take precedence. (X17)
In actual fashion news, Converse and Maison Martin Margiela are teaming up yet again. The collaboration will feature the All Star Chuck ’70 and Jack Purcell done in all white. The difference of course is that as you wear them, the sneakers will crack and the white will reveal a solid color upper half of either “Amber Glow,” “True Navy,” “Azure Blue” or “Biking Red.” Only Margiela could pull off such a design. If you’ve got $250 for them you probably want to make your way to a Margiela or Converse store now as they went on sale Friday. Maybe savings from my Memorial Day shopping can get me the high-top All Star Chucks! (Complex)
A brand that’s practically known for their collaborations, Supreme has announced their next partnership, to be released Thursday. Just in time for summer, the streetwear brand has announced a collaboration with American painter Mark Flood on two limited edition skateboard decks. The thing is, if you’re into skateboards and art like this, you’ll likely want to make plans to start lining up around 5am or so on May 29 as Supreme drop lines are notoriously long. (Supreme)
