- Fashion Bomber of the Day: Ralph from TennesseeJune 26, 2015
Sorry for the delay in the review from Tobago Fashion Weekend! A ton of designers showed, and it’s been a little unwieldy to even wrap my head around how to do a suitable roundup! So I decided to just highlight about 5 designers you should know.
Check it out:
1. D.A.W.W. Creations
Though D.A.W.W. Creations offered both menswear and womenswear, I was truly intrigued by their selections for the fellas.
Short sleeve button downs were jazzed up with polka dotted pockets and patterned trim.
The designer breathed life into traditional blazers, painting them in island cool colors. My favorite of the bunch was this white option, decorated with wings in tones of purple, green, blue and fuchsia.

2. Dominique la Roche Designs
DLR Designs offered a decidedly more afrocentric feel, witnessed by patterned halter maxis and floor grazing skirts.
Heavy prints gave way to more neutral tones: a paper bag pleated skirt worn with a bustier and a denim blue jumpsuit stood out from the selections.
The showing ended with a sizzle with an embellished white dress, fit for a Caribbean Queen.
I absolutely love it.

3. Fashion Entrepreneurs of Trinidad and Tobago
The Fashion Entrepreneurs of Trinidad and Tobago effortlessly captured the spirit of the islands with ethereal fabrics in vibrant hues, fashioned to create wind catching kaftans, two piece sets, and skirts.
Playing with hues like orange, hot pinks, and on trend rainbow prints, the pieces exuded easy Caribbean style.

4. Brown Cotton by Risanne Martin
It was all about vivid colors for Risanne Marti, who brought a welcome dose of sex appeal to the evening. For guys it was all about the bold blazer, while women were outfitted in plunging necklines, abdomen baring two pieces, and short shorts.

5. Tabii Just
Though we didn’t catch the runway for Tabii Just, I could see from her models lined up backstage that her clothes were the perfect marriage of island flavor with Urban Edge. The New York based founder designs clothing for women with effortless style. You’ll find everything from easy maxis to playful shifts in an explosion of colors.

The pictures above were just a glimpse of the runway show, but I wanted to give you the most condensed version possible!
That said, you can always find out more on the respective designer’s websites.
