Jourdan Dunn and Chanel Iman were picture perfect in custom Topshop gowns with couture cohort Kendall Jenner in the background.
Lala Anthony served curves for all your nerves in this violet Cushnie et Ochs gown. The color is impeccable, but I thought the gown could’ve used just a smidgen more drama. Her mug was beat to high heaven though! Carmelo’s tux fit him perfectly, but I draw the line at the top hat. It teeters on the highwire that separates dapper gentleman and ringmaster of the traveling circus.
Supermodel Gisele Bundchen gave us her signature over-the-shoulder pose in her Balenciaga gown.
Jessica Alba, Jessica Joffe, and Selena Gomez posed with the incomparable Diane von Furstenberg while wearing her dresses for the event. Don’t they look statuesque?
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley sidled next to Olivier Rousteing, who designed her Balmain frock. To me, this would’ve worked better for last year’s “punk” theme, but it’s a fabulous dress, nonetheless. Unbeknownst to them, they’ve created their own theme: #cheekbonesandperfectpouts
Reese Witherspoon, Kate Bosworth, Stella McCartney, and Cara Delevigne had some fun at the Met Gala, funny poses and faces galore.
Model Liu Wen was the picture of perfection in this jade colored Zac Posen creation. Her gown was an A+ interpretation of the night’s Charles James theme. Best dressed nominee for me.
And sidling up to the designer himself was Dita von Teese. Her two toned nude and red mermaid gown cinched her waist and accentuated her frame flawlessly. Her hair and makeup were beautiful as always.
Designers Maxwell Osborne (far left) and Dao-Yi Chow (far right) of Public School NYC hung out with designer Thom Browne (2nd left), probably admiring each others’ fashion forward ensembles. Only Mr. Browne can pull off a cropped trouser at such an auspicious affair.
Model/actress Suki Waterhouse took a snapshot for Instagram in her gorgeous Burberry confection. And if you thought this was enough drama…
The Beckhams were on tap for the night’s soiree. David was dapper in a white Ralph Lauren suit, while Victoria looked regal and served her usual stern face.
Et voila! And just like that, her chapeau puts Pharrell’s to shame as she strutted down the carpet wearing Givenchy. Not quite on theme, however, no one can do this like she can. I’m here for it!
As with all Met Gala coverage, stay tuned to this space for updates!
Until then, thoughts on these snaps?
